Good news. Would be nice to see a more varied guest line-up though, so hopefully the usual suspects that have already been announced will be added to with some less frequent attenders.

this event is for the people that live in Newcastle and nearby

so we are going to bring the bigger names from the shows so the guys that do the a lot of events are going to be the guest we plan to get for this event

so if you live in Newcastle than pop in and say hi its going to be a reel nice event

Good to see an event in Newcastle at last!!! Only problem is not big on Star Wras or Doctor Who :P

Only way I will attend is if there's some guests like Sean Chapman (Hellraiser, Doctor Who) and Jean Marsh (Willow, Doctor Who).

Please get Sean Chapman. The thought of having to travel 5 mins to meet someone I'd really like to meet would be amazing as I usually have to travel 5 hours to a SM event!

Do it for Matt SM

Well technically he wasn't in Dr Who, just a one off failed spinoff.

I think its a good idea, for people who can't or won't get to the events, get the events to them. Perhaps you could take it on tour which could also test local interest for bigger events.

At the other event where he cancelled he was billed as a Doctor Who guest and Hellraiser was not even mentioned so there must be some people who are fans of his from Doctor Who rather than Hellraiser! Anyway if showmasters get this guest I'll be there and I'll put the word out to all my fellow Hellraiser fans. There's alot, just look at cenobite.com - these people travel all over to meet the Hellraiser actors! I met loads who travelled all the way to the con last year just to meet him. Still gutted he cancelled :P

Don't bet on it. I think it was mainly a desire to get someone from the story since it was out on DVD last year, he was no great guest to loose from a Dr Who POV. It was a pretty minor role from memory.

Really looking forward to this - any chance of getting a few actors that played stormtroopers or cantina/jabba aliens for this????

Alan Harris would be a great guest and would make up for missing him at Collectormania Glasgow last year!!

Im new here and i dont want to rock the masters sail barge but arent there enough Who cons on already(2 at the last count)and Who guests at the regular shows?

Come to think of it arent there enough appearances by the listed Star Wars guests also at your other gigs ?

Ive read a lot of this forum tonight and see that fans of movies and indeed the horror industry are neglected and also im very sad the Manchester show has bit the dust.

It is indeed grim up north this year at least.

Tenth Planet specialised in Dr Who, they have always done several a year, it's just SM wouldn't let them be mentioned on here before last year.

Anyway it's three - Invasion, Bad Wolf & Dimensions. WW is just a signing fair, rather than full con.

Its still a lot whilst other stuff gets overlooked. With the crunch and no series this year and appearances everywhere for Doctor Who types its a bold move.

Not really, there's always been a 'healthy' market for Dr Who events - compared to the best part of 15 years without a series proper, a year off is nothing. Even welcome to a few of us.

Tried and tested is probably the best way to describe it, that's why Tenth Planet continued events but not their shop.

Invasion must be coming up to it's 10th year.

Yes I'm attending more Dr Who events this year than ever before, but thats only because TP now have some very good rivals to run alongside them, without really competiting.

Well the show as you rightly point out being off air hasnt stopped over 15 years of who cons and shows prior to the new series but that fan brigade must surely be due to hang up their wooly scarves soon.

Things are changing though, the shows are getting bigger and new ones popping up but the get off your bottom and meet the guests audience isnt rising with it and with old guard of fans being in their 50s now and with Tennant going and i hope im not right but i think the shows current level of popularity will suffer next year.Matt Smith is a fantastic actor from what ive seen but i see the show losing a fair few fairweather fans and casual viewers who dont understand that the show is about the doctor and not DT.

As for this show a lot of Doctor Who stars have been in Star Wars so i see how it works. Jeremy Bulloch was in the Pertwee episode The Time Warrior and Empire Strikes Back plus who can forget Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford as both halves of the Myrka in the Peter Davidson episode Warriors Of The Deep.
