Please can you let us know, sooner rather than later, which guests we will receive 'free' autographs from and which we won't! Many thanks in advance. TRUKid Posted March 6, 2009 Author Share Posted March 6, 2009 I really need to know and also know a few others who do too, as we are buying certain items to be signed if we get their autograph included - like the Gwen Cooper figure if Eve Myles' autograph is free but if it isn't I can save a tenner and not buy the toy as I won't be paying an extra £15 for her autograph when I've splashed out £195 on a Gold pass already. Doubt we'd get to chose to be honest, cause that would cause possibly mass confusion on the autograph sheets we get if everyone got to chose which guest they wanted and didn't want kind of thing. I don't think this will happen. At the last event the same '6 autographs' rule was in place and you didn't get to chose. The 6 autographs you got were designated in advance. If you got to chose technically someone could decide to get all six of his freebies from Eve, and then someone else could miss out because she's busy with those signatures. Say we had 12 guests, and you got the 6 you already had met/didnt want to meet. So you would then pay over £60 to get the actual 6 you wanted on top of nearly £200 already spent. Hmmmmmm lol The autos are pre-chosen by SM folks, I think they kind of do it on who will be most popular at the event, or they do it a completely different way and I totally just made that up But last time the autograph voucher we got was just that a small sheet of paper with the 6 guests faces + names on it and they got crossed out as you went to each person. I should know that, the amount of times I kept losing the damn bit of paper!!! I have to say it would be lovely to chose the 6 I really want, but then I understand why we can't have that and then start bouncing once more. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And I thought I was done with spending money on this event lol Plus: Showmasters just opened a thread saying turn out wasnt what they expected (450 if I read it right). Thats waaaaay lower than most guests like Eve or Burn would get at another con. Yes they have less signing time at this one, but that is balanced out by the low public number. Im sure the guests can get through 450 people over the weekend. Burn is the only one id use this 'names in a hat' system for, but everyone else should be fine. Plus not everyone (as this thread shows) are meeting even main cast members as they have met them before. I think this system was in place for big crowds, but as the SM thread I mentioned revealed, there isnt AS big of a crowd this time. We have always said that we try to run the best events we can for you and you have to understand that there are sometimes contractual or financial reasons why certain things happen. We have the 'maximum 6 free autographs' rule to ensure that we can bring extra guests if we want to rather than leave them out. However, we are also always mindful of value for money and try to make the weekend the best it can be for you all. You will therefore be pleased to know that all guests announced so far, (Up to and including Burn Gorman) will be included in the autographs that you receive free with your programme admission! Yes, that means that as things stand you will get one free autograph from Eve, Kai, Gareth, Burn, Tom, Matt, Siobhan Hewlett, Roderic Culver and Phil Ford! Hmmmmmm lol I'm not sure why you think this is a privilege for Gold & Silver pass people. ALL event programmes include the same in terms of autographs, so it wouldn't matter whether you bought a Standard, a Silver or a Gold everyone would be in the same situation. The autograph vouchers will be on the back page of the convention booklet as they have been for past couple of events now, and every attendee has the same autograph voucher for their free autos regardless of whether they are gold, silver or standard, so having a gold pass does not entitle you to choose your autographs, and no where is this advertised. Yes you are getting all 9 included this time, but had it been the case of only 6, I don't understand why you think that having a gold pass should allow you the ability to choose your autographs, since the 6 free autographs applies to ALL attendees not just gold. Went and checked the gold pass program (not saved it anywhere before tonight) and saw my mistake. Forgive? I should of said ticket holders get to choose, but as we dont need to now its a moot point.
