i did just mention this my only problem was with the general courtesy of the fans and obviously that is not ME's fault and it is something that people learn with time

I have to agree. We were told by Showmasters before the event that screaming and crowding the guests wouldn't tolerated, but this seemed to go out the window once everything got underway. A few of us were chatting and decided the best thing would be to have an age limit for ET2 (which obviously won't happen as the tickets are already on sale). Having said that, it was some of the older guests who were the worst.

The only other thing that bugged me was the delaers room, the photo stall had 8 rows of robert pictures and only 2 rows of pictures of for the guests and groups and of them there was not one of ashley in character on her own the only ones of her were modelling shots an di found that very disappointing, but again i know ME don't choose the merchandise, so it's more of a personal thing, as i would have loved a different picture signed

The dealer's room was very disappointing (Dr Who merchandise at a Twilight convention??!!). Why all the Rob pictures when he's not even there? We only found ONE Emmett picture and he was a guest!

And the youngsters need to be ID'd. We didn't see anyone get ID'd at the bar and saw a few girls who were probably only 14 or 15 drinking wine in the Prom Party.

Finally, I think there were just too many attendees. It would work so much better with less people there. Those with a Gold pass could get to meet the guests as promised and everything wouldn't be so rushed.

And if someone breaks the rules - Showmasters should ask them to leave.

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but....... :YAHOO:

On saturday I totally (and stupidly I have to add) forgot my programme (was my first Con and so I'm not totally up to speed I have to say!!) and so had to go all the way back to my hotel to get it. I didn't mind as it was my own stupid fault, but later in the morning I saw that someone had obviously done the same as me, but was allowed to get her pass ticked off, rather than her programme, when I was told that there was no other way and I'd just have to go back and get it.

Now this got me thinking - Why not think about having a bigger sticker printed for the back of the pass (as we have to wear it everywhere anyway!) so that can be signed off once we've had the autographs, rather than having to carry the programme everywhere as well?

I'm sure you've already thought of it before anyway, but for forgetful useless people like me, to cut down on the amount of stuff to forget when you've already walked a mile down the road would be really helpful!!!

i was really impressed with the organisations of the whole event and felt things worked well generally.

any improvements?

same comments about the gold drinks reception as mostly above. i don't feel comfortable shoving and crowding the guests to meet them for a couple of minutes...i thought the whole point was to NOT crowd the guests so they felt comfortable being around us.

and about the seating in the main hall. i was gold and thought that fair enough if there was empty seats after all the gold had been placed then the silver should be moved down to fill the space but there were a group of french or belguim fans who decided upon themselves to do this anyway. what made me annoyed was they caused this huge fuss with the crew about not going to move and how the seats were empty blah blah being very noisy and rude about it all.

the other silver attendees were even agreeing with the crew that it was a gold section and they were told not to sit there and after several crew members told the problem group that they had to move or be moved they just got up and shoved a load of empty seats out the way (a bit of a silly move really) and then hovered at the end of the aisle, possibly in the hopes that they could sneak back.

they were AGAIN told to take a seat in the correct area and i think if you have to be told 20 plus times to sit down and continue to be rude to the crew and basically break the rules that everyone else is following then they should have been literally followed to a seat.

also the music at the party i liked generally but most of the exact same songs where played at all 3 nights so maybe variety more please though many thanks to the DJ who did his best to please all the people there

dealers room: i liked all the stuff on sale but was hoping for some of the offical merch maybe seeing as it's ahrd to get generally and though a twilight con may have been able to get some of it but as next time the movie company may work more closely with the organisers that may be something to look into

guests for next time? kellan and peter again, Jackson and MICHAEL WELCH PLEASE!!!

it might sound like i've just been moaning alot but i really did love it all this weekend.

thanks again

xoxo

Oh also (didnt want anyone to think it was just all negative!!!)

I thought the general organisation of the whole thing was amazing and a big well done to ME - it was my first convention ever and I had no idea what to expect - but i thought that considering the amount of staff and the sheer volume of people to shephard about, you all did a fab job - big well done!!!

I was a standard ticket this time and loved it all so much that i have stumped up for the Gold ticket in October - so you must have done something right!!! :WINCE:

It seems that one of the things that is coming up again and again is the bidding for guest encounters. How about having the sheets at the registration desk? I also quite like the idea of a sort of blind ballot where you put your name and bid on a paper in a box and then 12 names are pulled out to take part and the lowest price is the amount you pay.

I like that idea, i far prefer that it be based more on "luck" than on the amount of money you have!!!! That way you can only bid what you can afford!!!

And Ballet, i think if you wanted Sumayah to get an autograph you'd have to pay - the £30 is what i'd figured the cost of the seat in the talks was, going to the party's, dealer's room etc....as the "free autographs" you get as standard made up the extra £50 we paid. That's just how i worked it out though!!! Could be wrong!!

I'm not sure about the age limit thing, at first i thought it was a great idea, and now i'm undecided, although that's certainly preferable if it stops the annoying and RUDE people that were barging their way through, stealing anything that wasn't pinned down and hogging the guests, and as others have said - being French/Belgian/ etc etc ISN'T an excuse. Have some courtesy and manners and stop spoiling the event for everyone else. M.E have worked REALLY hard to make it as wonderful as it was, yet those people really grated on me (and several others)

I think the crowd restraint should be more enforced (at the prom party for example). There was no announcement that they'd arrive, and within seconds i'd been crushed and couldn't move - it was like a mob of screaming, frenzied girls and it's no surprise that they were immediately escorted back out.....a little self control would have been good!!

Again, though - that isn't something that ME has any say over...just hope that people aren't as rude and inconsiderate at the next one.

Having said that - it was great to meet everyone else, i think the whole weekend was a huge success, only proved by the speed at which ET2 tickets are selling....i'll be booking mine ASAP and can't wait!!

Would ***LOVE*** Peter and Kellan to be invited back, and would also love to see Nikki and Jackson!!!!

Other than that, i didn't find much to fault....i thought everything ran pretty smooothly!!

I have to agree with the person who mentioned the foreign fans I use the term loosely, anyway where myself and friends would wait until an opportunity arose to speak to one of the cast in wie reception they were just coming up and butting it... which when you've stood there politely for 15 mins only to be pushed back by people is just rude and ignorant in my opinion.

So perhaps a guide on politeness would be nice for the next one :)

p.s. can I just add this happened a lot, and it wasn't just the french fans but from my personal experience it wasn't the American or English fans so perhaps its just a difference in culture?

I've read all of your comments and want to answer some of the re-occurring ones.

Gold pass drinks:

The way we do it has work for us before. That is that we have a crew member with each guest and they move the guest around the room.

As I say this usually works. At this event it did not because some attendees followed some guests around all the time. And it made it very hard for the crew to move to a new group because as they move to that group the "followers" would just turn up and push others out of the way. I tried my best to move Kellan and Peter about as much as possible.

I have got an idea on how to improve this and I'll be running past Mark and Jason. It will stop this "following" from happening and mean everyone gets a chance to see the guests.

GE bidding:

Firstly the crossing out thing is going. That will not happen anymore as we are aware some people were just crossing out OTHER peoples bids. So from now on people will just leave their old bid and add a new one to the bottom. The lower old bid will just be ignored by us later.

The placement of the sheets was not great. We wanted them to be somewhere were people would see them. But I have a better place for them next time. Also I will make sure there are crew in the area for the last 15 minutes of bidding so that no one (or no group) hogs the sheets.

Screaming:

On a numbers of occasions people were asked to not scream. The problem is it's almost impossible to police. We will do our best to enforce it better next time.

Seats in talks:

Gold pass do have a priority seating area and so we HAVE to keep this area for gold only. I understand that some people decided that as the seats were free they could move forward. They should not have, we will keep this in mind for next time, it's very hard if people start ignoring the crew. They did come and get me and it was sorted out. Also there will be signs up next time that will make it plain where the GOLD PASS area is. There will be seats left in the GOLD AREA as it is a priority area and so GOlD PASS holders can come in and out as they like. If we allow others to go into that area and a gold pass holder comes back, it all could get very sticky. That's the reason for the GOLD ONLY in the GOLD area.

I'm sorry to those with Silver tickets that got confused on Saturday. But it was on both the big sheets on the doors to the main hall and on the "How things work" sheets in your reg packs that the hall would be loaded ONCE and that this would be at the start of the main hall activities, on Saturday this was at 2pm as specified in both places.

Silver do not have a specific seating area. If you look at the price of the silver ticket it does include the photo shoots with 5 guests, which makes it cheaper than getting a standard ticket PLUS the 5 photo shoots. So you are better off straight away. On top of that we do let Silver ticket holders in before the standards. But if you are not there when the hall is loaded I'm afraid like standard number 1 you loss your place.

We have chosen to load the hall in ticket order as we feel after A LOT of discussion that it is the fairest way and cuts down on the NEED to queue for hours. We understand that it favours the people with lower numbers but they booked first and therefore helped the show get starts. It's only fair they get in first.

You may say "but I'm Gold 140 or Silver 140 or Standard 470 and I paid the same as number 1". But let's say this was a popular concert and you booked top prices tickets after 90% of them had been sold, you'd get tickets that were for seats in the back of that top price seating area. You'd not expect to get tickets at the front as the people that booked before you would have got them. This is no different. You book later, you sit further back.

We will continue to load the hall in ticket number but I am looking at ways to make it easier for the attendees. Including queuing areas for GOLD, SILVER and STANDARD. So that there is less of this having to push through.

Crew:

I'm sorry that some of you feel you have not been talked to in a manner you'd have hoped for. For this I am sorry.

I'm not condoning it and am not saying it is right. But please let me explain a bit. We had more attendees at this event than any other weekend con we've done. Add to that the large percentage of attendees that have never been to a con before and it meant a lot more work for the crew. Please understand that the crew are human too and are there sometimes 2 hours before you and 2+ hours after you, so if you think you feel tired, have seconds thought for them. So when they are tired and have had to say the same thing to 100 other people, if you are 101 their tone may not be as great as it was for person number 1. We do our best but everyone gets tired and so sometimes the stress can show.

I'd just like to say thank you for your feedback. It's all good for us to learn and grow.

I was with American fans that had travelled from as far as Phoenix, Los Angeles, and other places to be there and they were veru courteous and reserved. They were staggered by the pushing and shoving that was going on.

I said it defo wasn't American fans :) I'd say French but I don't want to since there's every chance they could have been from Belgium, Switzerland or anywhere else really.

First off thank you so much Massive Events. It was a great con and i enjoyed my whole weekend.

Things that worked well-

The way the autographs and the photoshoots were organised was great. I loved the party themes, the surf board, casino and Gazebo were great. You could really tell you'd put a lot of effort in. I loved the cocktails too, they were ace ;) I was a bit warey about how the auction would work but i think ot was really well organised and went very smoothly (Loved the fact that you auctioned off the guest's chairs, great idea). I loved the film clips and behind the scenes stuff you showed us on Saturday too. I already have my ticket booked for ET2! Yay.

Obviulsy the guests were amazing too so thanks for getting them all for us. I'm very excited that you managed to get Billy Burke for next time, i really want to meet him :P

Things that could be improved-

As has been mentioned before i though that there should have been some sort of divide between the gold, silver and standard seats and someone at each barrier checking peoples passes so no one could seat jump.

I know that its not ME's fault and there isn't alot you guys could have done about it but the screaming and the mobbing from some of the attendees was a bit much even for me, so the guests can't have been very comfortable, as well as the amount of flash photogrpahy in the talks. i think some attendees were just to over excited and it would be great if next time we could a ll bear it in mind. I think it was a shame that the guests couldn't stay longer at the parties.

I don't really know how it could be organised better but the photo collection on sunday was manic so it would be good if there could be some more control over the way photo's are collected.

Maybe a few less requests for music played at the parties as that it gets quite repetitive when its the same songs three nights in a row.

Things for next time-

I think it would be good if there could be some sort of quiz that can be given out in the reg packs for attendees to do while they are waiting. It doesn't have to be like a competition or anything just something to keep us occupied as there is quite a lot of waiting, expecially for people not staying in hotels nearby. Answer sheets could be given out at the end of the show or something like that so people can see how well they did.

For the parties i think a St Martin's day theme would be good as well as another La Push type party as that party was my favourite.

Like i say though, it was a great weekend, thanks alot Massive Events. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next time.

First of all, thanks for a fantastic con! I really really enjoyed myself and I consider this as one of them most awesome weekends in my life. So thank you very much to ME and all the guests for making this an event to remember.

What worked well?

I thought the whole organisation of the event was very well done. There were lots of people, but queues were still managed rather well. What I enjoyed about the event the most was the gold reception at the beginning (because it allowed us to talk to the guests in at least a bit a smaller group) and the group photoshoot. I totally adored that one. Also the photoshoots in general were managed very well and I really enjoyed the outcome. :)

What could have been improved?

Handling of some of the fans. I nearly died when they started screaming at the beginning of the con (first guest encounter). I just don't get why people have to scream in the first place. The guests are only human too and if you treat them with respect and talk to them normally you'll get much more out of the encounter. So what the hell is it with all the screaming?? Seriously, this annoys the hell out of me. The same holds true for the guest encounters at the parties. I thought it was so lovely of the guests to turn up at the casino party and I know for a fact that Kellan and Christian would have loved to stick around a bit longer. But then there were all these fans that simply didn't know how to behave. Why on earth is it sooooo hard to leave the guests alone for a bit? I mean it's okay to talk to them if you're like standing right next to them by chance (everything else would be rude anyway), but following them around and screaming wherever they go and asking for pictures is just WRONG! They are there to have fun too. And they are only human too. So stop treating them like they were some kind of wild animal in a cage. I just felt very very sorry for the guests and it gutted me how they had to pose for one picture after the other, just because they wanted to be nice and make everyone happy. But picture-taking with the guests should be limited to the photoshoot and everyone that starts screaming or starts following the guests around at parties should just be banned. Sorry, that's just my opinion, but I thought it was so unfair how the guests were treated at the prom/casino party by some of the attendees. To improve this a bit, I suggest that you're not allowed to bring your camera to the parties if there are guests in attendance. I know that people like to take party pictures and that is okay, but taking pictures at the parties should be stricly limited to personal pictures and pictures involving the guests should simply not be allowed. We have the photoshoots for those.

Other than that I don't really have anything to complain about, expect for the room temperature. Most of the time people were freezing due to the air conditioner. And at least two of our guests were sick by the end of the weekend. I know that this is not something that really concerns ME and also some people just like it cold while others like it warmer, but I still wanted to mention this.

What you would like to see added to the next con?

Basically if the con is just half as good as this one it's gonna be great again. I really hope there can be something done concerning the parties though, as far as the stalking of the guests is concerned. And also about the screaming.

Other than that it would be nice if the Dealer's Room had a bit more Twilight related merchandise, other than just the photos and pictures that could have been bought. Also I think it would be nice if some of the money that was earned through auctions (especially for the guest encounters) could be given to charity. I think this would give it much more value in a way. :) Yeah and as far as guests are concerned I just would love for Kris and Rob (or at least one of them) to be there.

Anyway, I can't wait for October and thanks again everyone for making Eternal Twilight in an overall perspective a fantastic event.

Can I say I loved the Guest Encounters :D . I loved the one I won with Ashely on Saturday, best thing ever. She's such a sweet person to talk to.

Loved the guest's, everyone was so friendly and after the Wine Reception party I honestly forgot that they were "Celeb's" and I found it so easy to talk to them over the weekend.

I loved the wine reception party, got to see everyone and had some really good long talks with Ashely, Peter and Justin.

I wasn't to impressed with the dealers room but I did get a really pretty necklace so it wasn't too bad I just thought that there could of been more Twilight merchandise like the jewlery and t-shirts.

And I know everyone has said this but the music, it was terrible on the last night! Should have played more of the soundtrack!

Firstly thank you for such an amazing weekend...

The photoshoots were incredibly well organised as were the autographs. The parties were so well thought out down to the last detail which impressed me immensly...I loved the Prom hope we get that one again!

Only thing I wasnt keen on was the fact that we didnt get to ask our own questions to the guests. Yes we had submitted them but would have been nice if the person who submitted it could ask it? I know this would cause a variety of problems but would have been nice.

Also the mobbing of guests was a bit much....think people should have been more considerate with them, let everyone have their chance to see them and say hi. Not just the same people everytime! The bid for guest encounters...would it not be better to bid blind like but bids in a ballot box that way you cant see what everyone else has bid and you cant add up and try and work out how much u need to put to win like some people were doing. I do think it should be left to chance as everyone gets a fair go then.

Other than those minor points it was ace!!! Very well organised (apart from a few gatecrashers i noticed!) and a lot of thought put into it especially the welcome packs! Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!

Already booked and paid for the next one hehe! And Karaoke again would be cool!

That really annoyed me at the Prom, a load of girls swarmed around Kellen near the bar and it took nearly half an hour for me to get served as all these screaming girls were pestering him. I felt really sorry for him.

I was waiting at the bar for ages, when suddenly Kellan was next to me. I had to ignore him and concentrate on getting my beer. Then all these girls are swarming around and I started panicking that I'd never get my beer! Thankfully I did :D

What worked well?

I loved the talks! They were amazing! I also loved the autograph sessions- they weren't rushed. I loved the truck! Little touches like that were brilliant and really thoughtful.

What could have been improved?

I think maybe we could all have a tiny bit more time with the guests at the photoshoot. I felt abit stressed haha and I would have liked to have just said hello!

I also thought there was maybe too much time in between things and there was alot of waiting.

What you would like to see added to the next con?

Better music at the parties!

Maybe there could be a screening of the film at the next one? Too take up some time, or maybe a quiz- a Twilight quiz would be fun? Just so people who weren't staying at the hotel had something to do.

AND JASPER :D hahaha

Overall- I had the greatest weekend ever and I was so sad when it finished! Well done

See you at the next one :D
