Photoshoot Question

Hi there, this is to do with Hallowhedon before anyone moves it somewhere else. Ok, basically, I bought a slayer sythe a while back and was wondering, if I brought it along with me that weekend, would I be aloud to take it into the photoshoots and get each guest to pose with it in my photo? If not, then I'll probably just leave it at home.

Also, will photoshoot tickets be on sale at the event or do we have to buy them in advance? Thanks, Charmer!

You mean a slayer's scythe?

I'd think this falls under the change in weapon's law that took place some time last year.

Seeing the blade of Hiro's sword is considered to be a problem now even at signings I'd say a scythe will definitely be one for the photo shoots.

I'd leave it at home.

Any tickets that are not sold out will be sold at the events. Tickets selling out is more an issue for events like Collectormania, so you should be safe to wait for Hallowhedon if you wish to. Plus Jola posts when tickets get low anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply. I dont think I'll risk it with the Scythe then.

I really wouldn't. Even if it's not considered a weapon per the law or the blade may not be as sharp as for a real one, it does look dangerous.

I agree it would look impressive on the photos.

But while you know that it's some kind of a prop and harmless, the crew and guests won't know.

A guest could refuse to pose with it because he simply can't be sure about that. I've seen fans being asked to put away replica weapons because guests weren't comfortable at other events by other organisers.

will there be an option for non gold member to buy a group shot with all the guests at the event??? even if we have to pay a bit extra than what a normal shoot would cost it would be ok with me

I think it's for god ticket holders only because of the time it takes..............

  • 2 weeks later...

Have never been to a Massive Events convention so don't know how they run it, but at other conventions I have been to they do have photo shoots with more than 1 guest in it and it doesn't really take up too much more time.

With the schedules how they've had them at recent events, there's not really time for multiple group shots.

But also, there's the problems that go with splitting it into "Buffy shot" or "Firefly shot" etc - what if someone's been in both? and the hassle of refunds and replacements if you only end up with 1 Buffy guest etc. It's just a lot more work really.

yes with the ME events they used to have a group shoot but i saw in a differe board there getting rid of them now so :D

It was after the hassle at The Hub in october last year, trying to find a time in the schedule to get all of the guests together and get through all of the gold passes, it was a 'logistical nightmare' I think was the phrase used in another section of the forum, so any and all events that have been announced SINCE the Hub have had the group photo removed from the Gold Programme.

In saying that....... Hallowhedon was announced before The Hub, and the website, online store and all the flyers advertised the Gold Programme as having the group photo and people had purchased gold programmes prior to this decision, and so... Hallowhedon is the LAST and ONLY ME con now that will still have the group photo for the gold pass holders only! So if you are interested in that group photo, that's how to get it!!!

Great news so there will be a photoshoot for this one.

Have to say i did buy a gold ticket and was a bit disappointed to read after i bought my ticket that this was now not an option, i like the group photos at the other buffy/angel cons i attend and would have been a shame not to have one at this event too especially as i am sure it will be an amazing line up so glad there is one now.

thanks for clarifying.
