Collectormaina 15 and Amanda Tapping is the first guest to be announced (well that's what the flyer said that I picked up at 14 ... I'm soooo jazzed about this that I don't really care about A list celebs who probably won't come anyway) Please can we have other Sanctuary guests ... Plus anyone from Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Primeval TrueBlood Heroes Dolls House and any other shows that are cool

A-list guests are great news. I am not quite sure as to what qualifies as an A list guest ( everyone probably has different criteria) but to be promised a range of them at one show is very exciting.

With the move to the new venue the quality of the guests will be the major deciding factor as to whether I (and most of the people I know) will attend. Showmasters delivered some amazing stars at the Centre and to get more (and better?) all together at one show will be fantastic

To attract

- the headliners of the major US sf and fantasy shows ( Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ali Larter, Kristen Bell, lena Headey)

-main cast of Uk sf and fantasy shows (Freema Agyeman, Hannah Spearitt, Lucy Brown, Emma Griffiths Christina Cole)

contemporary horror and sf movie stars (Rose Macgowan , Milla Janovich. Danielle Harris,)

horror and sf icons ( Jamie Lee Curtis, Daryl Hannah ,Heather Langenkamp,

classic movie stars ( Sigourney Weaver, Dan Ackroyd, Molly Ringwald)

and with the extra space to branch out into attacting the stars of other shows with a huge following (24, csi, ncis, prison break, Chuck et al)

would be great

good luck

I am not quite sure as to what qualifies as an A list guest ( everyone probably has different criteria)

From wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_list :

The A-list is a term that alludes to major movie stars, and/or the most bankable in the Hollywood movie industry. The A-list is part of a larger guide called The Hot List that has become an industry-standard guide in Hollywood.

Ulmer Scale

The list was created by veteran entertainment journalist James Ulmer, who developed a 100-point method to quantify a star's value to a film production, in terms of getting a movie financed and the cameras rolling. The Ulmer Scale also takes into account an actor's history (box office successes vs. failures), versatility, professional demeanor, and ability and willingness to travel and promote movies.

Will Smith topped the rank as highest paid actor in 2008. Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise topped the latest ranking in 2006. Ulmer's latest Top Ten List, from 2006, also includes:

Jim Carrey

George Clooney

Russell Crowe

Johnny Depp

Nicole Kidman

Leonardo Dicaprio

Jude Law

Brad Pitt

Julia Roberts

The 2008 list also includes:

Chris Tucker (Unofficially with his $25 million dollar price tag for the Rush Hour film franchise)

Eddie Murphy

Mike Myers

Angelina Jolie

Keira Knightley

Popular usage:

In popular usage outside the movie industry, an "A-list celebrity" simply refers to any person with an admired or desirable social status.

Two guys I'd pay "big bucks" to see are:

Mark Hamill

and

Harrison Ford

But there are loads of other names that've already been brought up on this thread.

BUT if you get either one of 'em, I'll be there with 100% certainity

In my view, I'd judge 'A-List' as comparable to the "biggest" guests we've had at Showmasters events before, or slightly bigger. I'm sure we all know some have to be unrealistic.

So say Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd, William Shatner kinda level perhaps - current stars, big name classic TV, and legends .. there's a pretty wide scope.

But I guess it's a matter of opinion really.

There are a handful of celebs that instantly come to mind for me:

Mark Hamill

Harrison Ford

Sylvester Stallone

Gene Wilder

Mr T

Ian McKellen

Christopher Lee

Dan Aykroyd

Sigourney Weaver

Christian Bale

That'll do for now :D

Although I think a lot of the A-Listers that many many people want would be really obvious. Buffy, Stargate, Lost, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Aliens, Dr Who, LOTR - stars from all of these have appeared at loads of SM shows, so it stands to reason that a lot of people are gonna want to meet the main stars of these, like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Harrison Ford, Christopher Lee, Sigourney Weaver etc.
