nicky
Great I'm first poster!!! Thought people only cared about that when they were first poster in a section, not a thread?! There so many threads so it's not so special? I never knew that was him in Indy III. Not a fan but a good guest to have considering his contribution to Brit comedy - Old skool BBC comedy I think isnt he? MikeDonovan
I never knew that was him in Indy III. He was the sultan that Walter Donovan went to, to get agreement for the nazis to go on to his land (this was pre-war of course), and ending up exchanging his Rolls Royce Phantom II with Not a fan but a good guest to have considering his contribution to Brit comedy - Old skool BBC comedy I think isnt he? Yeah - he came up during the early 80s, sort of the same 'comedy' generation as Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, and Ben Elton - the material tended to be somewhat ironic and left wing absurdist rants. He also wore suits that were too small for him, coining the common phrase "who's that fat b@stard?" (not sure this would go down that well on CM day though!) gilgalad70
Hey! Good to see Comrade Alexei keeping up his socialist doctrines and beliefs.. Oh yeah, he's a Scouser, so doesn't have them Ask your folks if they have any vinyl of his hit single, 'Ello John, got a new Motor' He even performed it on Top of the Pops! Would have been late 70's. Anyone know if he's an Everton fan, seeing as he was born in Anfield, and Man Utd fans don't live in Manchester, but then, neither do City owners... LOL! TommyT
Ask your folks if they have any vinyl of his hit single, 'Ello John, got a new Motor' He even performed it on Top of the Pops! Would have been late 70's. Early 1984, in fact; the record entered the charts at the end of February that year and peaked at no. 15. Have todig out his flop follow-up single "Meanwhile" for the occasion, since the B-side is a belter, if only for the phrase "Essex. Essex. Cortina Country. The badlands between the A12 and the A13..." Never been able to think of that neck of the woods any other way since.

MikeDonovan
Really friendly guy - we talked briefly about Last Crusade - He was saying that he received a call from Spielberg's people to be in Last Crusade, didn't audition, and just spent the day filming in Spain and wandering around with Denholm Elliott. Apparently Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg told him they were big fans of his work :)
