TBH if your saying there a disappointment then you musn't have been at the same con i was at, even though they were extremely busy they still had time to talk to me and my brother, Eve & John were so sweet with my brother which im glad they were and espically when in johns auto queue when my brother went forward before it was our turn and went to hold johns hand, John remebered him from the photoshoot and oldnick and the rest of johns people were cool because they knew who he was. And in eves photoshoot she was so lovely and kind to everyone and even though my photo took 2 attempts and my bros 6 attempts she was so sweet about it and I had a brilliant time.

So yeah i think u were somewhere else to say they dont have time for their fans

I would be the 'Dalek - sic her!' one ;)

I can't believe Eve gave up her lunch. She was saying that she thought she'd need more coffee at about 10.30 ish, but I never imagined she'd run entirely on caffeine! Eve totally rocks :(

It's really nice that people decide that guests are up their own backsides, when it's things that have been put into place by agents.Would I have liked a personalisation on my Eve auto?Yes sure! Was I happy I got to meet her though?Yes.She seemed lovely to me,she looked up said hello, signed and then said thankyou for waiting in the que *melts* in the only Welsh accent I can tolerate!Hopefully she will come back to another event.I understand you can't please everyone but rude comments aren't really needed!

Yeah! Stand up for the wifey :P

But of course!

I remember going to check on Eve and James' numbers whilst they'd gone to lunch and people were queuing over their lunch break!

I can't believe I didn't mention this before...

Eve, once she realised how many of her fans were there to see her, never actually took a lunch break.

I know this, because as well as working in front of her on her queue (possibly being the Jobsworth mentioned earlier), I also helped escort her through the crowds wherever she needed to go - and therefore have a little knowledge about what she actually did that day.

How many stars are willing to give up basic comforts like food to meet their fans?

Not many.

Eve was great and wasn't the only star to not have lunch - Mark Ryan spent the day meeting fans and also went without lunch when he realised how many people wanted to see him. Both stars were brilliant. :P

Strangly enough I had ticket 400 for John Barrowman and my wife had ticket 450, so there must have been 49 tickets that didn't exist as we got them together.

Eve was a great person, and was very nice to our little boy, who is disabled. Sadly we were unable to get a photo, but the security people did let us take a quick photo of John signing my photo, however my son held up the queue by taking his shoe off and placing it on the table in front of John!

Afterwards we went outside to the group of screaming girls who were climbing on each other's shoulders to get a look at John and showed them our photo - by the way who was it that told them it was over £100 for John's autograph?

i just want to add my two cents....

by all means criticise, but make it constructive, dont whinge and be nasty about the guests OR the organisers. i think people forget sometimes that if it wasnt for events like these, most of you would never even get close to meeting any of these people, let alone taking a photograph or getting a personalised auto.

and if you use the arguement "but we PAY for autos" then think of this, if you were to buy an JB auto in a shop or online store, it would probably cost you twice as much, or even more, and then you only get the auto, you dont get to meet and chat with them aswell.

second of all, as for those of you saying "i dont see why we couldnt take photo's when theres no queue behind us" do you think that it would stay that way after people discovered you COULD take pics? i doubt the queue would stay clear for long and the place would get clogged up by a gaggle of people trying to get pics (which ive seen happen before, and that was for people who allowed pics to be taken)

so yeah, that's my two bob

i cant wait to go to the hub to see the staff from torchwood as it will be a calmer situation and i will get to see more of them and get things signed and not have to pay £20 per item like at mk as it dont state anywhere that it was per item which is not good fair enough to go to the hub i will have to pay £78 each but i feel it will be worth it to get to see them all

I agree, unless I missed something it wasn't made that obvious that you had to pay for both signing and photos. With this in mind I missed my opportunity for a virtual signing ticket and after reading posts on here didn't realise if I'd hung around I could of joined an open queue much later on after collecting my photo. :whistling:

Just hoping there will be another Hub event next year with John in attendance since I'll be away on holiday when this years is on!

you will always have to pay per item, not always £20, it'll be less at The Hub, but its still per item...and it's that way at every convention everywhere, I dont know why people are surprised.

and as for the open queue, you could have waited and still not gotten a chance to meet them, an open queue doesnt always happen, particularly for the busiest guests

That's why there are always FAQs pinned at the top of the thread before the con, so that everyone is aware of what you get before you go. If you didn't come on the forums before, each guest's virtual ticket board has the price on and I'd have thought it was fairly obvious it's per signature without it having to be explicitly written or else everyone would be getting hundreds! As to the photos, whe you bought the ticket you bought it for exactly that - a photo. Signatures are always extra unless it says they are included which it most definitely doesn't anywhere either here, on the shop or on the tickets themselves. It really does pay to ask either on the forum or at the organiser's booth if you're not sure about any aspects of the shows as it can be annoying if you don't see/get something .

For The Hub, you need to make sure you read the terms for each category of ticket very carefully - again it doesn't state anywhere that you'll have unlimited autographs, you get one free from each guest up to a maximum of six, any others and I'm assuming you'll have to pay extra when there in the same way as the Collectormania ones. In the example above where batistababy quotes £78, that is for a maximum of 6 autographs and no photoshoots/group photos. I'm not having a go, so please don't take it the wrong way, just making sure you've read the terms very carefully so you're not disappointed!

Phew!!!!

Its taken me ages to read this.....

but as most ppl have said what I was going to say I wont add much...

except to say myself and my daughter joined the queue for JB at about 8am I got tickets 233 for Eve and 235 for JB.... so am fascinated as to how ppl arriving at 8/8.30 got tickets 16?????

I got my pic personalised by Eve and Kai which was a bonus as knowing how popular they had all become wasn't expecting any personaliation...

I used to steward at lots of Buffy and Angel cons so can sympathise with the pressure the crew must have been under....

I would like to say well done to guests and crew on making it such a memorable weekend...

And JB and JM were fantastic even if they weren't personalising (wasn't expecting them too anyway doesn't bother me).. just to get their auto's was a bonus (although I have lost count how many times I have met and got JM's auto and Pic) :P

Bring on The Hub should be a blast

hugs

shaz xx

I would be happy to see either of them for 5 seconds so feel lucky that you did get to see them, they were indeed insanely busy and I thought it would be a little mean if I joined the queue and a die hard fan couldn't be seen because of too many people, that make sense? May be another day.

James didn't do personalisations because he has arthritis in his writing hand (like me, and I know the pain of writing too much ie: GCSE's!) so he wasn't being rude also he wanted to see lots of people, John was doing personalisations (or so I heard) in the morning so if you queued up from the early hours you would have got one...

Bit rude to say they were up their own backsides when they actually attended the event... they didn't have to.

Well said. Plus JM doesnt personalise any way, plus he had hurt his arm. But when he has open queues, hes happy to have a pic. But he's ALWAYS happy to have a chat with his fans, as he loves us all. EM and JB are the same, they love their fans and are happy to have a wuick chat. Kai Owen was also lovely, had 2 pics with me coz HE didnt like the 1st one, and was happy to chat away. :P

As for the above post, i believe its called 'PUSHING IN'. I saw loads of people pushing in the queues, just walking up and joining their friends that had been standing there for hours. Bit off if you ask me.

Well...

Things didn't go exactly as planned on that morning, and due to circumstances beyond our control, the queue ended up in the center way before we'd scheduled it.

So, what happened was that we took a few books of tickets, and started giving them out to the line - I'd have 1-100 for the front of the queue, someone else took 101-200 for the next section back, etc.

Because we're not infallible, and because of the rush that everything came down to, we ended up with attendees in the queue being given out of sync tickets (Including one "gentleman" who was extremely unhappy about it all, but that's another story).

HOWEVER.

Knowing how the events work, and the sorts of numbers that JB was capable of meeting on the day, we knew that everyone in the queue had a very good chance of meeting him (certainly those who'd been there for a few hours)

Therefore, it was nothing nefarious, nothing remotely untoward - simply a case of a decision having to be made which kept a massive queue happy and under control!

(Before anyone mentions anything about the under control comment, don't think for one second that I suspect other than you were all ready to riot if you found out that JB had cancelled, or that we weren't on our game!! ;-) )

Yes, I really dislike this aspect of early morning queuing. It can be very disheartening to see people going in front of you and it being perfectly acceptable even if you might have got there hours before they did.

Just before we were let in, a bloke was hanging around the entrance, and when we were let in he just happened to join in towards the front of the queue, even though he had only just got there, needless to say, the people behind him complained, and he got told to leave, but then stupidly tried to push in a little further down the line! The stupidity of some people!

Good good! I just hope he listened and didnt try to push in again after the first 2 warnings he got! *though he probably did, he seemed kinda persistant* It annoyed me much, though it didnt bother me too much, being at the front of the que and all XD

I can't believe how much attention the first poster is getting. I haven't read all the posts, but I pretty much get the jist of it. I was one of the unfortunate ones who did not get get to meet either Eve or JB, but fair play to those who queued up from as early as 6am.

THose few people who are bad mouthing both the stars I'm disgusted, they attended to meet the fans (call yourself a fan by saying they are up their own backsides, maybe you want to get over yourself),

I'm sure they were both shocked at the turn out. It's true dedication to Eve's fans that she missed her lunch break to fit everyone in.

I think this post needs to fall in to obscurty, stop giving those very few negative people the attention they are obviously so desperately craving.

This really is so annoying, two teenage girls were queuing just in front of me and their friends kept showing up. There were six in the end.

I would have told them but the softer side of me didn't want to ruin their day or intimidate them but its just not on :P I still don't understand why you can't purchase autograph tickets on-line, the earlier you pay, the earlier the VT you get......

But on the whole it was FANTASTIC :(

Does anyone remember the guy with the bike? He wasn't in the next 100 people behind us at any point since we started queueing before 6am, but when we reached John's queue inside he was right behind us.

A friend came up to chat, said "I'll go back to my boyfriend now, wouldn't want to push in" and bike-dude had the cheek to say "yeah, some people behind me have already told someone to leave for pushing in"! I was well annoyed!

Also, I think I saw the guy you're on about that pushed in, I saw him lurking near the door just before we went in too and I was surprised to see him joining the queue much further up.

I know that when the queue started moving into the mall, we went through a side door, and had to squeeze between the newly formed queue and some signs, we found a complete stranger standing between us and the group that were in front of us outside! He must have already been in the mall somehow and sneaked into the queue, which was surprising since no one was being let in though any other entrances.

Whoever he was, he must have had ticket number 399. By the way, I was not the one who complained about the tickets being out of sequence, I assume 401-449 weren't given out.

What I was a bit puzzled about was that shortly after we moved in, another door at the back of the queue was opened and the queue went out of that door. Why was the back door not opened in the first place, rather than us going through the side? It would have made it more difficult for the "queue jumpers"!

I suppose it would be so that everyone gets a fair chance, I mean some people won't like to pay over the internet or even have it so that might mean they find themselves in an unfair circumstance. A lot of people might not turn up too if they see the VT numbers high and you never know how busy a guest will be for sure until the actual day.

I only met Eve, but she was absolutely lovely and can't fathom what the original poster is on about.

However, nothing to do with the guests themselves, what frustrated me was the fact that the queue outside clearly said "For John Barrowman" (except for the other side of the building, which said "For James Marsters"), yet VQs were given out for Eve Myles to those in this queue.

Naturally, as myself and my friends were only there for Eve Myles, we didn't join the "John" queue and instead went to another entrance because we saw that queue was not for Eve. When we were let in the entrance we went straight to the front of the Eve Myles queue (as there wasn't one), but when they started handing out VQ tickets for Eve we were given from number 301.

The number VQ we got is not the point. I completely understand that people who were in the John queue would likely have wanted to meet Eve as well, but I thought it was very unfair that there were specifically signs for John and James, not for Eve, and we got higher VQ tickets for her because "People have been queueing since 3am". Yes, maybe they have, but they were queueing for a different guest.

Now before you say "you can't queue for both", I do understand that, but I bet the vast majority of people who met John wanted to meet James, and they were completely seperate queues too.

If the signs outside had said "Queue here for John Barrowman AND Eve Myles" then I wouldn't have minded, but saying "John only" and then giving VQs for other guests is both misleading and unfair.

My suggestion for the future is to decide on the queues PROPERLY in advance. If you're posting a sign telling attendees to queue for Guest A, then make that queue for Guest A only, and don't give out Guest B's VQ tickets. If you're going to hand out Guest A and Guest B's VQ ticket together, quite simply make the sign say "Queue here for Guest A and Guest B".
