SteveA
Never been to Autogrphica before. I always assumed it was just for autographs, but someone said it's more like the Collectormania and Collectables and there are other dealers as well. can someone let me know what to expect please Cheers
autograph_fanatic
Autographica does what it says on the tin......autographs! It's not as busy or mobbed as Collectormania but has a more relaxed and chilled aura about it (much better if you ask me!) There are lots of dealers, keep you looking around for a while. What can you expect? Well as I said above, a more relaxed and chilled atmosphere and you don't feel so "rushed" when talking to the guests. Count Fooku
I would say though that the majority of dealers at Autographica are autograph dealers as opposed to ones selling collectables. The talks that take place are probably a bit more substantial in terms of subject matter, mostly due to the guests that attend these events. Only downside is unlike shows like LFACC the talks aren't free (the two I went to last year were worth every penny though). Would agree though, this event is a lot more laid back and relaxed, which makes a nice change!
SunSpeed
I think I will like this event more than Collectormania. I'll prefer Autographica's relaxed atmopshere to the more rushed and hectic Collectormania. Plus the autograph room is air-conditioned (read that on the Autographica site) compared to other events which are held in big warehouse and shopping centre venues. The autograph dealers at Autographica, if they have Bond autographs will they have a special code number which you can trace the origin of the autograph from? On the autograph auction website I looked at yesterday (it's linked from an icon on the Autographica guest list page on their website) it said the autographs there had a special code number which you could trace the autograph's source from. gilgalad70
Autographica has dealers in autographs, and the odd dealer that has materials to get autographs, such as http://www.bigscreenus.com/ which does stills and movie Collectables and posters etc. With the themes of guests varying so much, I anticipate all the space guys will be in one room, WW2 in another, Bond in another and so on, With the last two I did in London, I know the big names had ante-rooms of their own. It'll be interesting exactly how many suites these guys have hired, but IIRC, they all are in the same general area. As for traceability of Bond or any autographs, theres no real hard and fast rule on traceability. Just like Certs of Authenticity, they can be concocted to suit the purposes they're designed for. It depends on if you trust the dealer.
