Wich so many guests going to LFACC and especially as there are such big names as Patrick Stewart, Bill Nighy and Domonic Monagham going to this event, I was wondering (as usual) how early people thought they might be arriving to the event.

I know the event is over a month away, but it never hurts to be prepared, hmmm?

I'm amazed that so many people want to get there so early.

Are there really that many big name guests going that people (lots of people) want to see?

Who DO people want to see that badly that they are willing to get there before they have had a decent nights sleep?

Erm... Patrick Stewart? Bill Nighy? Mads Mikkelsen? That's three big name guests many people will want to see. Add Dominic Monaghan to that who hasn't done an event in the UK since C4 and you have your reasons why so many people will be there early.

Arriving before 08:00 will be totally unnecessary but it will not stop the early brigade.

I mentioned it after the last LFCC but the oddest lot as those Gold Pass members who arrive early and have to queue up – Why?????

It's a case of better to be safe than sorry really. People travel from all over the country .. hell, all over the world .. and if they're going to be around, they're just being sensible and getting there at a time to make sure they definitely see the guests they want.

No point staying in bed, getting up late, then getting a late ticket for someone popular and missing them. They can always go back to bed after meeting them

I might want to see Patrick Stewart again.

I have a video in a nice case, for the movie 'First Contact' one of my two favourite ST mvoies, and as it is signed by 10 other people who were in the movie (including Jonathan Frakes Brent Spiner and Alice Kreige) I'm still umming and arring if I should get there early in order to get that signed by him.

Or shoudl I just leave it and save my money for something else?

Apart from him the only other people I want to see arn't going to be anywhere near as busy (in my opinion) as someone like Dominic Monagham will be, but I'm still going to get there early so I can get VQ tickets, hopefully get numbers as low as possible and then I don't have to wait all day for there numbers to come up. Also I know once I have bought my autos, what ever money I have left will go towards anything I want to buy at the stalls :P

I always get there as early as I can.

Can't get there early on the saturday so I'm not going to go for Dom's auto on that day.

In the old days when there was no photo ops often if you wanted a photo with a guest you had to get there early.

They use to stop them after a few hours for the busy guests.

I remember getting there 2 hours early for Dom at C4 and they stopped photos just after I saw him.

Ummm... wow. Do I really need to get there that early? I was gonna go at like 8/9ish.

If you check the FAQ >HERE< it'll give you a good idea of how busy the guests will be etc. Just scroll down a bit to section 2.2 ;)

Well for this event so far the ones I want the most are;

Patrick Stewart

Bill Nighy

Mads Mikkelsen

Mary McDonnell

Torri Higginson

Hayden Panettiere

& then about 7 of the others as well.

This event for me is one of the biggest Showmasters has had in a while & will have to decide whether to get a Gold Ticket or take my chances with the queues even when going for both days !!!

Well its all down to whether you can afford a gold ticket and whether you think its worth getting, i.e. you really don't think your going to see everyone you want in the time you have.

Also what else could the money (which might be spoent on a gold ticket) go towards.

And can you get there early? If you can then maybe you might have enough time to see all the guests you want providing you get your VQ's as soon as you get in. Or do you want to wake up a little later, knowing you can easily join a guests signing queue when ever you want due to having a gold pass

I think those are the main things I would think about when deciding whether to get a gold ticket or not.

Myself, I get there early and thats always been good enough for me. I personally think if the gold pass's were a little cheaper I might go for them, but at what they are work now, hmmm I could buy the two lightsabers I wanted and still have some money left over for autographs. But each to there own

I'm only going to see andy Hallett as there are no other guests there i want to see so wont have to go so early.

I've only ever really queued for buffy guests - James Marsters overnight before but i am not sure i would for this event you will be able to meet everyone without the need to go so early.??

Well there are 2/3 guests who will probably be as busy as James Marsters ever was, if not moreso.

I'll be turning up around an hour before the doors open, as long as there are no problems with the trains and I can get all 8 members of our party at the station at the same time!

I've never really had a problem with getting autographs even from the busiest of stars. Elijah Wood had an extremely long waiting time last year, but I still managed to get his autograph.

It's just a matter of being patient and knowing where all the goood pub/restaurants are in the area while you wait. :headscratch:

Well if they get a big SW guest as people are saying/hoping then there is going to be even more people there then there already is, going to this event.

I don't want to chance not getting any of my autographs because I arrived a little later then most. And as much as gold pass might be handy I personally don't think its worth it at its current price.

So it’s early for me, or I can't guarantee getting the autographs I want.

At last years LFCC I got there about 6:45ish and there was already quite a queue (probaly because of Elijah) whereas I got to CE at 6:30 and there was about 5 people in front of me!

The best one I had was prebooked a ticket for the last GMex one but to go in normal time not early bird got there at quarter to and was first one in the queue.

there are some pretty big names this year but (in my opinion) they seem to be for a older audience rather than (prepares to get shot down) Serenity, LOTR , Buffy etc etc.

So do older (over 18) people queue from stupid o'clock in the morning or the night before??

Yes is the answer to that one. I know someone who used to go to a local convention near me, he is early-mid 30's (not 100% sure) and when ever Im at another london event or at our local one (till it stopped running) he was always a few in front/behind me.

Age isn't the thing here

I'm not going to shoot you down, but there is a big-ish LOTR guest going (though not Elijah) and people of all ages want to see Patrick Stewart, so not to sure what you were trying to get at here.

I have a friend who loves Serenity she's only just hit 70, though granted certain shows do attract more young people then others and some attract more older people then others, thats not to say that people from different age groups don't watch the show too.

I think LFACC is going to be really big this year, I mean come on they have how many guests going already and they are using EC1 this time. If you haven't been to EC1 well its a lot bigger then EC2. I'm deffinatly getting there early (stupid o'clock as you call it) and I will be prepared for any ques I may have to wait in. After all we Brits should be used to ques by now
