I always thought it was Ian Liston as driver and Julian Glover as the AT-AT commander.

The principle AT-AT (Blizzard 1) had two troopers in the cabin as well as the commander - perhaps he was the AT-AT gunner?

Paul Jerricho was the other AT-AT driver sat next to Ian Liston in the cabin with Julian Glover.

How do I know this? While going through some of the Kurtz/Joiner archive looking for photos for a previous Empire Day I found a cast list for the some of the hoth scenes, with character names, actor names and their agent details from 1979 all listed. Ian Liston is on this list as 'Walker Pilot/Wedge's Gunner No. 2.' Also listed was a name I didn't recognise, Paul Jerricho, listed as a 'Walker Pilot'. I managed to track down Mr. Jerricho, and he confirmed that he was indeed one of the AT-AT drivers. This was his only role.

Also, I met Peter Diamond on numerous occasions and discussed his roles in the trilogy at length. He never mentioned to me playing an AT-AT driver, and I have never heard it claimed that he was one before.

Hope that clears up any confusion,

Graham
