James Bond fans will have to wait until November 17th 2006 to see the car in its full glory with 007 behind the wheel in "Casino Royale", but the first sneak peaks of the new Aston Martin DBS have appeared.

Details of the gadgets featured in the car are being kept under close wraps - but MI6 can confirm that they all reside inside the car, and are not the usual pop-up machine guns or rocket launchers. Despite the car featuring MI6 technology, Q will not appear in the film.

Last month, Aston Martin confirmed that Daniel Craig visited the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, on Friday 13th January to view the featured car. While there he met Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, and members of the workforce and also took the opportunity to take a short test drive.

Dr Ulrich Bez said: “It is great news that Bond will drive an Aston Martin again and we have built him something special to enable him to do his job in style.â€

Aside perhaps from losing two front teeth, it seems like Daniel Craig just can't catch a break these days when it comes to James Bond.

Angered by the decision to cast Craig as 007, fans have launched a website (craignotbond.com) threatening to boycott Casino Royale. The site calls on fans "to stop Sony and Eon [Productions] from ruining the future of James Bond by hiriing Daniel Craig".

Yet according to the BBC, even former Bond star Pierce Brosnan thinks its an unfair rap. Defending his successor, Brosnan said, "I think Daniel is a very fine actor. These are rocky waters, but I think he will have the last laugh."

Speaking at the UK premiere of his new black comedy The Matador, Brosnan said he had every sympathy for Craig, who lost his two front teeth while filming a fight sequence for the film in the Czech Republic.

The website criticizes brother and sister producing team, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, for replacing Brosnan - "the most beloved actor to play Bond since Sean Connery" - with Craig.

"How can a short, blond actor with the rough face of a professional boxer and a penchant for playing killers, cranks, cads and gigolos pull off the role of a tall, dark, handsome and suave secret agent?" the site demands.

"This is what happens when you lose touch with public opinion. By casting Craig, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson have proven once and for all that they care little for the opinions of Bond fans."

Earlier this week, veteran actor Christopher Lee called on critics to give the new Bond star a chance.

"People should not pass judgment until they have seen the film," said Lee, a former Bond villain and a distant cousin of 007 creator Ian Fleming.

Various stories on the web are circulating regarding actor Daniel Craig and the filming of James Bond 21 Casino Royale:

According to Life Style Extra (UK), Daniel Craig stunned 'James Bond' bosses when he admitted at the last minute he was unable to drive 007's classic car.

Filmmakers had transported Bond's original Aston Martin DB5 to the Bahamas to shoot scenes for Casino Royale.

But the star suddenly confessed he didn't have a license to drive the manual car.

"I don't do gears," he said.

An insider is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "They've started shooting here and are using the old DB5, which is absolutely sensational. It was shipped over and was ready to go but then we found out he can't drive a manual car.

"So we have had to adapt it so it's like an automatic. You don't expect that with James Bond, to be honest."

Last year, Craig admitted he is struggling to overcome his biggest fear to play Bond - he's terrified of guns.

Then, according to Total Film, someone who doesn’t seem so thrilled with the selection of Eva Green to play 'Vesper Lynd' is Casino Royale script doctor Paul Haggis.

The site reports that after collecting his BAFTA award, the Crash director, standing alongside actress Thandie Newton, said, "I think we all know who I was rooting for" and nodded his head towards Newton.

Apparenty Thandie shrugged her shoulders and admitted: "That ship has sailed I’m afraid..."

According to sources, former '007' Sir Sean Connery is reportedly set to make a cameo appearance in director Martin Campbell's upcoming 'James Bond' feature Casino Royale.

The 75-year old Scottish actor, currently recovering from a kidney operation, has reportedly been scripted into the project, however it is not expected he will perform any dashing heroics for the film.

Connery will reportedly appear in the film during an action sequence, when new James Bond, actor Daniel "Layer Cake" Craig, gets into a fight, with Connery, never one to hesitate, diving under a table for protection.
