Hi

I'm relatively new to the board but have been a lover of horror for many years.

I have been a collector of horror autographs from the Universal studios era right

up to the modern movies for about 6 years now.

I just wondered what everybodys favourite or scariest moment from a horror movie was. Here are a few of my favs not in any order:

1. The hand coming up from the lake in Jon Voight's dream in Deliverance.

2. The 'Help Me' appearing on Regan's body in the Exorcist.

3. Gregory Peck opening the tomb in The Omen to find a jackal's skeleton.

4. Lew Ayres getting carried away under the frozen lake in Omen 2.

5. Donald Sutherland's scream and finger pointing a the end of Invasion of the

Bodysnatchers.

6.The Alien bursting from John Hurt's chest in Alien.

7. Shelley Duvall looking at the typewriter in The Shining and seeing 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!'

These are just a few of my favs, all from the 70's which is my favourite horror era.

Steve.

I'm quite young so i haven't really seen that many old horror films, but some of my favourite and scary moments are:

Pet sematary (The whole film scared me)

The guy finds the numbers 666 on the boy's head in the Omen

The chestburster scene in Alien

That horrible face that comes out from the bed sheets in the grudge

Leatherface chasing his victims with a huge chainsaw

Those bloody twins in The Shining!! Seriously, that is one of the ONLY scenes in any film that actually still gets me!! If I'm in a long corridor on my own...aaaaaaaaargh! :o

Oh, and there are loads of bits in The Woman in Black...but I haven't seen that in AGES!! It's just a very eerie ghost story

Hmmm, I need to think about this...
