Hi :D I'm interested in crewing at some of the events but am unfortunately a student with no money who has had to cut back on convention spending a lot since starting uni! I've read around but haven't seen anything to clarify how much of the expenses for travel and accomodation and such we're reimbursed for? Unfortunately I live in Scotland for most of the year so it costs a small fortune for me to get down to MK, London, etc. for most of the cons but I think it'd be great to be part of the crew for once rather than being an attendee! Also a little confused as to what information we're supposed to email? Do you guys want a full CV or just a quick summary of experience and such? Thanks! :P

Usually the exact payment is outlined in the crew e-mails, though the last few I've done are paid at £35 a full day, and half that for a half day; and £10 a day for the weekend conventions run by massive events. Hotel accommodation is provided BETWEEN working days, but any extra nights need to be paid for at the start of the con. Travel is not reimbursed.

Hope that helps (and if any of that info is wrong, please do correct it!)

Thanks for the speedy reply! It sounds like I could probably scrape together just about enough money to cover the rest then from the sound of it. Thanks again for your help! :D

Same as they've been since 2008. ;p

Very dark blue/black colour (with yellow writing) for crew, red for pit bosses (with yellow writing.)

Oh I didn't know if they were a different colour for each location :YAHOO: I've only ever been to the ones in Milton Keynes.

They did used to be (I didn't crew very long before they switched and have a collection in orange and the like!) but the one's you'd have seen at MK this year will be the one you get next weekend.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply.

Hi Luke pleasure to meet you.

I guess since I should introduce myself too. I'm Adam Anouer and I'm an Actor and Comedian in his early stages. I've been given the Honor of being able to crew at London Film and Comic Con which i am greatly looking forward to as I've always wanted to be part of something big with people who love what they do and i'm also looking forward to seeing some of you. I have a huge amount of energy, enthusiasm and random humor. Anyway if anyone would like to chat sometime or anytime i'll be glad too.

P.S: Showmasters = Brilliant.

I'd love to crew an event and I sent an email to crew@showmastersonline.com right after EMS 2011 but didn't hear back.

I'd love to crew LFCC and EMS this year if possible! :) EMS was such a blast, I really wanna be a part of it!

I'd recommend e-mailing again. Sometimes stuff gets deleted by accident so it's always worth sending a second one.

You'll know when your e-mail has been picked up because you'll get a standard reply telling you that your name has been added to the crewing database.

rainbow-tardis, just so you know, the deadline for applying to crew LFCC has passed now. Invitations to apply to crew an event are usually sent out a couple of months before the event is due to take place. You mentioned specifically EMS so the e-mail for that one will probably go out early August.

Too Tall usually posts on here when they've gone out.

Just out of interest, are you on Facebook? If you are, there's a group for Showmasters Crew that you might want to join.
