I do have to admit that after more than a decade of attending Cons, the guests that frequest these events are always the same ones. I would like to have some new faces attend, the problem is of cource that the actors and actresses must have the wish to do so.

It would be great to see the cast of 'Hearstopper' at the event.

And I'm sure of a decent contract would be provided, Sean Bean might be pursuaded to attend a convention again.

Kinda sad to see that with only three months left to go, there's such a small amount of guests so far. To think this used to be the biggest busiest con of summers past.  Looks like two years in a row that I won't be attending at this rate.

These past years it's been quite sad yes... They need to step up their game.... I do hope for some impressive guests like the past, but it's always Doctor Who or extra's...

I last went in 2024, and even then my dad and I had been saying that we might not come back again. This used to be something we enjoyed doing annually, and once upon a time we'd be there from first thing in the morning until the doors closed, with barely a break all day. The last few years we've attended, the only reason we stayed late would have been because I had 1 or 2 photoshoots (at most!) that happened to be scheduled for later in the day, which meant we didn't bother to show up until about midday anyway. I used to get anywhere between 5-15 autographs and/or photoshoots in a day, last few events I've barely scraped 5 autos and maybe one photo.

I know it's all subjective, just because it's not to my taste these days doesn't mean it's not to other peoples, except I KNOW I'm not the only person who feels the quality of this event has gone downhill significantly. It's all well and good having the same Doctor Who and Star Wars extras every year, but I miss the days when there were so many huge names across multiple different franchises and genres you couldn't fit them all into your weekend.

Most of the guests that I’ve met in the last 5 years would have been on my maybe list pre-Covid. I’ve skipped a few events, and one I attended without meeting any of the guests. I bought a £40 Lego minifig to make the trip worthwhile. At the moment, I’ve got nobody on my list for LFCC.

With the significant reduction in guests appealing to me at recent LFCC events, I've ended up being fortunate enough to find renewed interest in traditional weekend cons instead (at Heathrow) to fill "the void".

I will continue to support LFCC if guests are announced related to the shows that interest me - at the moment, there's no one on my list to see from the current guest list. But there's a while to go before the event, so things might change.

Yes indeed, I feel the same way. The last editions have been sad in terms of guests attending... I hope to attend again soon, but at the rate of guests being announced I don't believe they have a lot in the pipeline.... I do believe actors and actresses also feel these events aren't what they used to be and their agents book them elsewhere...

I agree.

Also, this forum is being neglected - the Spring Comic Con is still in the upcoming events section and that was over a month ago.

Very sad all round, this was the most excting time of the year for me visiting London for this con once a year. 10 years ago it was epic beyond words for me, so much to do and see and sooo many amazing guests.

This is the first summer con I will ever say I wont be going to for the last 14 years. With 2 month's to go it really feels pointless booking a hotel and travel and I may well just say farewell to Showmasters this year.

I guess who knows what they may pull out the bag the last two months....

I was going to say-

I feel like I may as well namedrop some of the better conventions here because there sure are no mods to stop me from doing so.

My point exactly- the way SO MANY people are sharing this sentiment doesn't bode well in my book. With two months to go in previous years, this board would have been 10+ pages deep with guest announcements and other such attractions, not to mention all the user engagement. This is just a shell now.

I agree with everything said so far. With two months to go, my guest list consists of a single comic book colourist, who I already met a month ago. Usually, my budget would be starting to creak by now. LFCC is starting to bear an uncomfortable resemblance to the film fairs.

I also miss the guessing games with the hints for each major guest. I have a feeling at this rate, they may cancel the whole event altogether...

Very much a thing of the past! I'd have such fun with those guessing games.
