Hey thaks for wishing me luck with the Lara comp you guys! Probably gonna need it even though both me and babyFRODO have put way way way too much effort into it probably more than anyone else in their right mind would!

I don't think you need luck. Don't wanna jinx it, but I'm quietly optamistic :uhoh:

Definately no ones made more effort than us (hell, I think *I* deserve to win the Lara Croft look-a-like comp, if we're judging by effort! :help::blink::blink: )

Starting to get more worried about the abseil thing or rather getting sponsors anyway

You're gunna be great girl! And raise loads of cash! Now, when I come to chear you on, will I be required to be all hobbited up  ?

babyFRODO your Shire outfit is really great! The press studs make it look so professional even though thats the easiest part!! Bet you can't wait for a lovely summers day when we can take a nice stroll down the rec and take some piccies. It will be nice to be behind the camera for a change!! Lets hope we get some sunshine soon.

Yep! Like tomorrow maybe or Sunday!!!!!! And we could redo that comic Lara pic you're not happy with, that's ready good anyway! I understand where you're coming from though. And thanks for the compliment about my Shire outfit. I think I'm gunna rename it (I have to name all my costumes :uhoh: ). I'm no longer "Shire Frodo" I'm *pause for drama* CASUAL FRODO

Blimey, Nickwise! You're madder than me about getting costumes accurate!!

*gah* If this turns out to be true, I'm caneling Project Hobbit! LOL! Of course I'm joking :o *starts to wonder if maybe it's me that's sending everyone dolally. Nah, don't think so! *lol

Agent Frodo - my mission - to get to page 8 single handedly (other than that first post there. Nickwise).

Or at least that seems to be how things are going. I talk to much!

Sorry to both Lara and Nickwise cuz this post has nothing to do with me but...

So that is why I could never be Lara Croft- I'd be arrested for carrying loaded guns.

Last Friday it was on the radio that some two year old twins had their swords which were part of their Peter Pan costumes confesgated by police cuz they were "terrorist weapons"

How stupid is that? Hope they never meet us :help:

Thankyou  :o  I am working on pippins gondor costume, so far my belt buckle, other buckles and part of my chain mail is made of coat hangers  (other materials include fosters cans and custard tins, no recyling plant is safe mwa ha ha ha)

Am intregied! *that's soo not the right spelling  *

The only thing I could think of to make with hangers and cans is a really bad mobile :help::angry: It'd be way to dangerous to hang in a toddler's cot so I'd have to hang it over my bed (next to the disco ball  I can do camp!).

Sorry.....

Now that's a post that'll get ignored! :uhoh:

All the hobbits are gunna be armored up for c6 then?! Fab. This time I'm taking a camera! There were so many photos I didn't take at c5 cuz I just *had* to be acurate! "Frodo doesn't have a camera...blah, blah...Frodo wouldn't even know how to use it...blah..." Stupid decision!

First reply, because you said it'd be ignored!

I have a disco ball! But it is at the bottom of my wardrobe and I haven't seen the insides of my wardrobe for many a year. (There is piles upon piles of costuming gear, fabric and mountains of er....armour covering the entrance.) :uhoh: I shall get that out when I have my own flat! (Sarowyn beware, you may want to give up the idea of sharing!) It rotates with a battery and everything!!

*shuts up now, because hobbits generally don't go to discos and Sam is too shy to dance. I also sound rather strange too.* :o

Hobbit armour is gonna rock. We're going to storm the centre MK...hehehehe....there will be a faint 'chink, chink, chink, chink....' Rising to a cacophony of 'stomp, clunk, thud, stamp, grr'

Again apologys to Nickwise and Gandalf the Black for butting in.

With regards to name tags, you can get a"Frodo lives" cap. I want to get one and change it to "babyFrodo lives" :help::blink:

That must have made on sence to antone reading it eariler but as I WAS POSTING WW3 broke out in my house. Which also explains the next post

Phew*breaths in deeply and smiles in relief* Hmm, I need a picture to illustrate my feelings here... think I'll do some drawing tonight  The orc armor can wait till tomorrow (I got another 60 press studs today :D I also made the mistake of popping into waterstones and peeking at the rotk photoguide to compare my OAF to the movie - I'm gunna be sick

Yeah that's my problem! £££! But it won't hurt to ask. Their costume shirts aren't as expensive as other places I've seen and I only want sleeves and the back and front patchs. Still like the idea of them being black even though they weren't in the film (going for atmos on this). But then as you say, gotta muddy it up at the end! I'm arranging for me to be bound at the wrists and dragged behind a galloping horse though Marston Green. I've put your name down for that as well

Sorry, getting silly now. Should I go? Not yet.

Do talk sarawyn into doing that Merry costume she was on about!!!!! *nods frantically and gives thumb up sign*

Argggghhh! *to self* what an idiot!!!!

Third post. :D

I love being in the sketching mood, but unfortunately I have lacked artistic fervour of late. (Lord, did I sound Upper Class just then. *Shudder*)

I have only one image of the orc armour (the one everyone's seen, of them sitting by a rock. Oh so many rocks in Mordor.) So I don't have much to work from other than the Toybiz model (yes I am sad and have a big collection .....mainly Sams actually.... :uhoh: Sarowyn despairs of how Sams I have to buy... :D )

I bet your armour is fantastic, and I won't hear no for an answer. I have made my boots now (isn't the idea of shoes scary, Mr Frodo?) I also finished my helmet minus the chinstrap (I'll have to buy stuff for that.)

Chain mail....now I thought that was done, but evidently a great overhaul of design has to occur....like expanding it threefold with what rings I have left. :help:

I am excited at prospect of being dragged by a horse through Marston Green. You know, I had the silly idea of just throwing a bucket of muddy water over me, but....being dragged cross country sounds more authentic, think of the injuries!!!!! Of course, if this is what you want to do, I won't mind, but I'm sure there are other ways? :o I agree, wait until closer to the event, you'll want the 'beaten and battered and dragged across the ground at 35mph' look to be fresh. :D

Sarowyn, what about Merry in Rohan Armour? You like Rohan armour!! *also nods frantically* hehehehehe, I shall let you decide, just think of the best costume to shock people in costa coffee.... :o

Or at least that seems to be how things are going. I talk to much! ;)

Sorry to both Lara and Nickwise cuz this post has nothing to do with me but...

Last Friday it was on the radio that some two year old twins had their swords which were part of their Peter Pan costumes confesgated by police cuz they were "terrorist weapons"

How stupid is that? Hope they never meet us

I saw that!!!!!

"Terrorist activity, just outside the Disney store, sir, what shall we do?"

"Describe the suspects, officer"

"Yessir, both seem to be in their early eights, knee high, no facial hair, waving plastic implements in threatening manner, wearing green tights and Peter Pan hats, both are male, caucasian, with no previous convictions. We believe them to be a real threat to the people trapped inside the Disney Store, sir."

"Ok, act accordingly, bring in the Riot Squad."

I have had several warnings from certain security guards at these events and even my own little escort of them around John Lewis at c5 when I wans't doing a good job of hiding Sting! But they all know I'm harmless, they love me really. Everyone loves the hobbitses, right? Especially the cute one waving around her frying pan....*cough* wasn't me *cough* sorry officer *cough*

I like that you are in a daft mood, partly because I love the word 'daft' and secondly, it helps that I can be happily daft as well!

But now I think I should write NO MORE for now.....until next time....

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Suspected terrorist inside Ann Summers Officer. Is tall, blonde, has pointy ears and appears to be carrying a large bow and several arrows. Also wearing a pair of fluffy bunny ears. We think he's highly dangerous...and rather vain." ;)

yes I am sad and have a big collection .....mainly Sams actually....  Sarowyn despairs of how Sams I have to buy...

Let's not forget your collection of Frodo's, including your little sister's ugly frodo doll. I have that picture hanging around somewhere... I think your Sams are funny, but none can beat the elven boat action sam and frodo pair. Extreme elven boating! *gets all excited at the idea of extreme boating toys* :P Have you got all the Sam's now or are you missing some? I think Gondor Pippin and Rohan Merry need to meet sometime. They can compare button size!

Sarowyn, what about Merry in Rohan Armour? You like Rohan armour!! *also nods frantically* hehehehehe, I shall let you decide, just think of the best costume to shock people in costa coffee....

I do like Rohan armor but I don't think I've got enough time on my hands to do Merry's properly this time round. I wouldn't like to make it half arsed or anything like that. babyFrodo, I'm not sure if I'm going to be doing Merry or not! I've got a few options open to me, but right now I'm making an Azumanga Daioh school uniform for an anime con in august, so the lotr stuff has kinda gone to the side for a while. I don't know if I'd make a good Merry or not though. I'd need to get a wig....other I will have to borrow the Gertie from Nickwise, which...frightens me somewhat really. I'm not great with wigs, I don't like spending loads of money on them, but all the good ones do cost a fair bit (I tend to think £10 is alright, but nice ones like Nickwises were £30 or more I think  But I am forgetful...). I'll be sure to let people know when I've decided though! Hopefully August will be LotR costume making month!

My mother despairs with all the costumes though. I've been told that I have better things to spend my money on! I don't comprehend that though. Does she mean more manga? Or more SeraMyu? (She hates both of those things too! I've yet to figure out what the lesser of the three evils is to her yet. I suspet the manga, at least that is silent and does not leave thread all over the house).

*Says Nickwise, who took about half an hour to start crying without cause just to see if I could.* *Was also sitting rather close to Andy Serkis at LFACC, so how could I cry?*

You cannot cry about Andy Serkis butt shots. ....I shall say no more. ;)

Although I wanna help get your armor grubby! I have a plan that involves mud pies!

Sarowyn! Miranda's gone!!!!! :( Don't remove her from your LJ, she has the same effect as my smiling Orlando, its the big cheesy grin. :D

"Suspected terrorist inside Ann Summers Officer. Is tall, blonde, has pointy ears and appears to be carrying a large bow and several arrows. Also wearing a pair of fluffy bunny ears. We think he's highly dangerous...and rather vain."

LMAO. Vain? Moi? :D:wub::P

Oh lord, the Frodo pics.....like....the Frodo having too much fun....babyFrodo, shield your ears, this was the result of an afternoon of boredom and Gandalf and Treebeard even got a look in. Not to mention the Gladiator-syle fighting between Frodo + Sam elven boat, with their oars poised in attack.

Merry and Pippin do have to compare button sizes!! Yes!

You are more than welcome to borrow the Gertie if you do so wish! *shudder, as I wrote the word 'gertie' something fell over all on its own and went 'crash' on the floor!!!!*

Andy Serkis is no crying matter, whichever way he's facing.

Mud pies!!!! cool!!! But I was hoping to be tied to the horse.... :D (I just had a thought, you know in rotk, when they all come back to The Shire on horses, you could imagine Frodo and Sam being dragged into shot....'arghhhhhhhhh!'

You're welcome to share any costuming stuff with us whenever!!

heya, thanks for the offer nickwise :D thing is, i'm lookin at all this great stuff and wonderin exactly how far my credit card can go before i go bust... unfortunately i know i've already spent too much on it!!! i was lookin at a chainmail shirt on ebay... damn, i'd like a full suit of armour but shirts seem to be around a hundred quid at the best, so... uhh... cheapest option is to make? and i'm not that patient rite now... and its way too much money even then...

ah well, i'll manage summat - might be able to get a cloak, not sure wheter its lfcc or c6 i'm gonna go to, but i intend to be at one of them!!!

Chain mail is always gonna be expensive when its already made....I guess if you aren't the patient type, or don't have a lot of time on your hands, its harder to make it yourself, but I've spent many many many hours in my 'workshop' (bedroom) with two pairs of pliers knitting metal together....but the again, I saved around £95. I would say though, if you go for larger rings, it doesn't take so long and once you've got the hang of it, it's not so gruelling. Bigger rings also means less to buy, I got 5000 for £16 and they're TINY.

oooh, whatcha going to be? (a cloak REALLY narrows it down :P:D ) Full armour is really fun to make. I say go for it.

Tell us when you know what con you're going to and i want to see what costume you end up with!!!I'll be wearing my name badge, but you sure won't miss me! You'll hear the clink of metal and the heavy sound of marching orc....

what am i going to be? well, not currently plannin on any precise costuming - but somethin general like 'armourd man' or 'robed magician' depends on what exactly money ends up like... if i do go in chainmail it would be a long-term project tho i think...and 'm not a good designer so full armour would be cool but probably unrealistic

i'm ALMOST CERTAINLY going to C6 for the party... costuming will MAYBE be a cloak and a robe, depending on money.... and name badges? might it be more fun to figure each other out from costumes?? ;):lol:

I like the idea of general costume!! You can tell people different things like 'yeah, I'm Harry Potter' and the next person 'I'm Merlin for King Arthur' and the next person 'I'm Shrek' ok....ignore that one. You get my drift. :o

I might actually conisder this c6 party thing, I've never gone to an unnoffical meet or anything before, but I want to get more involved just so I can say Showmasters took over my life! Are the tickets already booked/limited/sold out? I'll have to do some research....like wandering out of this thread. *shocking*

How will I work out who you are then, if you are random general person? LOL! I think it's a good idea. :o

You must great every random general person with a cry of "Mr Gandalf, sir!" until you find the right person. Sure you feel like a wally in the process, but everyone will go home with the happy memory of Samwise Gamgee calling out to them.

...Or, you know, you could just wait to be found as it might be easier.

I haven't thought about what I'm going to write about today, so sorry if turns into a rambled mess everyone!

Your disco ball is much more sophisticated than mine. I just got one with loads of mirror pieces, don't rotate or nothing! But it do reflect loads of tiny light squares all round the room if I shine a torch on it :D Which is great for confussing the cat who can't understand why I put the stupid thing up in *her* room in the first place!

Ah, but Sam will take to the dance whenever Frodo's around to sneak up behind him and give him a push! Then sits down himself and has a laugh. That's a little mean now that I think of it :D

I think I'm gunna phone round all the shops in MK just so that they can prepare for the onslaught of Armored Hobbits  Lets give 'em a fighting chance!

I start with Woolworths and BHS. I'll leave Ann Summers up to you :P:lol:

Best not go near the Disney Store. With my masking tape and news paper sword  , I'm sure to be mistaken for a terrorist!

Ah, good. I was worried you might think I was a little odd when we get into a Mt doom pose and suddenly pipe up with "Does anyone mind if I start crying?" And now you've got me thinking about Andy!:lol: Ah too many good memories of him from lfacc. *me hugging his arm crying I've got Andy!* :D I don't know what came over me, I don't normally act like that. Sorry Andy! And, of course when he called me a stupid fat hobbit (I asked him too, he wasn't just being rude  ) That was just so cool, presious! That voice right in my ear, literally made me shudder.

See what you've done?! Don't mention the Serkis! LOL!

*hugs* Anyway, I'm not trading in my Frodo. She cuts off her finger to win competitions

Aw, thanks *hugs back* your Frodo wasn't about to let you trade her in! Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam, and she ( ) knows it!

I have only one image of the orc armour (the one everyone's seen, of them sitting by a rock. Oh so many rocks in Mordor.) So I don't have much to work from other than the Toybiz model (yes I am sad and have a big collection .....mainly Sams actually.... Sarowyn despairs of how Sams I have to buy... )

I bet your armour is fantastic, and I won't hear no for an answer. I have made my boots now (isn't the idea of shoes scary, Mr Frodo?) I hope they won't be uncomfortable, I'm no shoemaker. I finished my weird shoulder-thing which is my fave part actually (but it looks like the efforts of a lower school kid again.)

I also finished my helmet minus the chinstrap (I'll have to buy stuff for that.)

Chain mail....now I thought that was done, but evidently a great overhaul of design has to occur....like expanding it threefold with what rings I have left.

I am excited at prospect of being dragged by a horse through Marston Green. You know, I had the silly idea of just throwing a bucket of muddy water over me, but....being dragged cross country sounds more authentic, think of the injuries!!!!! limey online! I love that, seriously, I keep thinking that every time I go on the computer!

I probably should warn you that um, the pic of Sam and Frodo orcs sitting on rocks? Well, my costume looks nothing like that! Well it's kind of the right shape...

Lara says it will be ok when it's all messed up, it's just looking to neat right now. Hope she's right. I look much more like the toy biz model.

For every Sam figure you have I bet I've got the corasponding Frodo! I tried to count all my Frodos some time ago but got bored after 30! How have they even made that many?! I worked over time so I'd have a bit of extra cash for the twight Frodo figure as well :D Which reminds me I got the twilight Frodo bust from them £1 for a random toy in an egg machines, yesterday  Wants to go and look at it now!

I got the elven boat Sam/Frodo pair cuz I liked the Sam. I bined the Frodo because it looks so much like a boy I used to know (and didn't like that much) that it scarred me!

But you're right Shoes are definately the scarriest things to a hobbit *whimper*

I also discovered that the trousers are likely to disintergrate after a couple of wears (so much like my Fellowship trousers then  )

C u soon. If I can keep away! I'm not making any atempt to disconnect at this moment I see!
