  1. Cloak and Scissors Cosplay Loughborough based with 6 years of cosplay experience. Some of the costumes have been a bit ridiculous, but creating the characters that I love and bringing them to life is my favourite aspect of this craft. My favourite character to portray has been the Potter Puppet Pals. It got such a great reaction from being such a simple idea. facebook.com/CloakAndScissorsCosplay twitter.com/CloakandScissor Photographer: Harry Street photography
  2. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Nicosplay My name’s Nicola and I cosplay, hence the squished together moniker – Nicosplay! I’ve been cosplaying for seven years, and in that time I’ve gone from raiding second hand clothes, to sewing costumes from scratch. Cosplay is an exhilarating experience, and has been an amazing opportunity for me to develop skills I didn’t know I had. For me, cosplay is an opportunity to wear clothes I could never wear day-to-day, and to have a fantastic time doing it! My favourite character to cosplay is the Evil Queen from Once Upon a Time, and if you’ve seen her dresses, it’s no wonder why! As well as being fabulous and fun, she’s a character that I admire greatly, and this is my way of paying tribute to her. Photographer: Manticore (http://www.manticore-cos.com/)
  3. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Humpasaurus I’ve been cosplaying since 2014. To be honest I don’t even know how it became a hobby! I think I just saw other people making things and wearing costumes and thought it would be fun to join in. I’d never really been good at sewing, and I had no experience in armour building so I wasn’t entirely sure where to start. In the end I leaned towards using makeup to create a character or portray an actor/actress. I am a fine artist so I love painting and realism - so I’ve kind of adapted those skills and put them to use in my cosplay! I love using makeup effects and wigs to get into character and add another dimension of accuracy to my costumes. I think that’s why my favourite cosplay is Nicky Nichols from Orange is the New Black. It takes quite a lot of work to create the makeup look - but in the end it’s worth it and playing her character for the day is so much fun! Now I always look for a new makeup challenge and discovering ways to become my favourite characters. Photographer: Humpasaurus
  4. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - AlienQueen Cosplayer, Seamstress and Model since 2010, throughout my cosplay career I've worked with the likes of Capcom and Konami, been on live TV, guested and attended countless conventions, and own over 60 costumes, most of them made by me! I'm mostly self taught, and love teaching and inspiring others to start their journeys. Photographer: Ben Bonello
  5. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Alex Cosplay I’m a Propmaker/Cosplayer from Norfolk on the East Coast of England. I first cosplayed at Comic Con back in October 2014, to see what all the fuss was about, and I was hooked immediately. Since then I’ve spent a lot of my spare time working with, practicing and improving ion my work creating cosplays to wear at upcoming events. I mainly work with foam, but have also spent a fair amount of time working with fibreglass helmets too. In the past two years I have cosplayed as characters from Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers, Mass Effect, Yugioh and many more. www.instagram.com/alexcosplay photographer: www.facebook.com/manongbrandon
  6. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Northern Dragon Ever been the silent wierd child that kept to themselves and felt that they was the only person who liked fantasy and wargaming at school? Yep!, same here. I started Cosplaying in November 2013 after being asked by a friend if I fancied going to a film and comic convention in London (WLFCC) having no clue what these cons hold, dove in head first and was hooked since. I love (and hate) working with and using any material for my cosplays and either go all out on a costume, like the full armour of Mortal Tyrael, Diablo fame, to casual and comfortable like Jayne Cobb of Firefly fame. The biggest flaw I have? I'm too impatient. Photographer: Shinigami Photography
  7. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Luna Chan Hi I'm Cayleigh aka Luna Chan and I've been cosplaying since 2014. I have always loved anime and gaming since I was a kid and just wanted to be the characters, then I discovered cosplay and my whole life changed. I absolutely love it!! My favourite cosplay has to be a split between my faun and Sylvanas Windrunner. My faun is my own character so I do have a lot of love for that one though. A lot of my time is spent on making cosplays, playing games, doing art and messing with makeup!! Photographer: Laughing Orc Photography www.facebook.com/laughingorcphotography/
  8. Morelia Cosplay UK based cosplayer using cosplay as a form of art. I began cosplaying in 2012 using cardboard to make armour, and sewing. As I developed my technique (a working progress!) I changed to worbla, then EVA foam, and I am currently using a mixture of the two as well as clay (for fine detailing) and am continuing to improve my sewing skills. My favourite cosplays involve making elaborate armour, and I tend to cosplay male characters more than female ones (I often prefer their designs). My favourite cosplay so far is my Kael’thas Sunstrider, (Master Skin), from Heroes of the Storm. This cosplay was challenging for me and involved learning a new skill: making scale maille. Sauron – Lord of the Rings – Photographer: Les Scott Aston
  9. Kitschy Cosplay "Considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way" I’m a Newcastle local cosplayer, with ambitions way past my skill level – which always pushes me to improve and learn more tricks of the trade. Foamsmithing and sewing are my strong suits but im always curious to try new materials. Cosplay is my favourite outlet of creativity, and I never feel more confident than when portraying my favourite characters. Photography by Nicholas Gray
  10. ALPHABETY cosplay I have been cosplaying for about 3 years now. Starting off from a beginner buying and modifying costumes then advancing to making all my own costumes and props such as armour builds made with Eva foam and worbla to more recently working with fabrics and sewing. Some costumes I have made include a Raider from Fallout 4, complete with pipe rifle, and characters from Skyrim such as a Falmer. 11. Latest Guest Announcement - Agent Delta Attending: Saturday & Sunday Damien, a life long comics and sci fi had always had an interest in cosplay. He never thought he would have the chance to try it. Until a friend told him about a local convention back in 2013. He attended out of curiosity, wearing a simplistic Dipper Pines costume and was immediately hooked. From then, he adopted the name ‘Agent Delta’ and has attended every convention possible. He is most well known for his signature Ace Ventura and Ash Williams, but is always looking for new characters to portray!
  12. Latest Cosplay Guest Announcement - Lady Bane Attending Saturday & Sunday Suzie also known as Lady Bane has been cosplaying for 3 years. Who also had an illustrious career in bars and nightclubs, will soon be leaving that all behind to go back to university. Known for creating female variants of male villains she has also cosplayed Magneto, Sebastian Shaw, Loki and Prince Nuada (Hell Boy 2).
  13. We have 4 amazing cosplay guests attending Newcastle and will be on hand to take questions and take part on the Cosplay stage activity's Arkyl Cosplay Matt is relatively new to the cosplay community after having been doing it for 1 year. He first launched himself onto the Cosplay scene when he built his 'Koltira Deathweaver' character from the hugely popular online multiplayer game 'World of Warcraft'. This was his first ever costume (see picture attached) and he has been hooked ever since! Matt is entirely self taught and is always looking for new ways of doing things. "I've always been fascinated by cosplay, I've followed Cosplayers for years now and I had always wanted to give it a try. So when a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to be part of their World of Warcraft group I jumped at the chance! I'm the kind of person who is bothered by the tiniest imperfection, so I set about learning everything I could about Cosplay. There is always a new technique to learn, and that's the great thing about the community, people are always eager and willing to share their knowledge. Cosplay has taken over my life but I love it! I don't see myself slowing down anytime soon!" Matt doesn't focus on any particular character type or style, but says that as long as he is enthusiastic about the character he will build it. He goes to as many conventions as he can, "They are the best places in the world, they are a place where someone can dress up as the characters they love and nobody thinks they're crazy! :D" You can find Arkyl on Instagram: www.instagram.com/arkylcosplay/?hl=en Calamity Cosplay Calamity Cosplay is a small business team, started by Connor Zawadzki, dealing in 3D modeling of weapons and armour and 3D printing.
