  1. Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Stephen Baskerville Attending: Saturday & Sunday Artist: Transformers; Aces Weekly UNDOUBTEDLY best-known for his inking of numerous Transformers stories for Marvel on both sides of the Atlantic, Stephen Baskerville has worked on many other titles since he made his comics debut in 1978. It was, however, eight years after writing and drawing a story in issue #5 of the semi-underground Graphixus that his next credit – in Marvel UK’s Spider-Man and Zoids#4. From then on he began to work regularly for Marvel’s British-based offshoot, his name appearing in such titles as Thundercats and The Sleeze Brothers as well asTransformers. His first US work appeared in 1989’s G.I. Joe European Missions #10 with Web of Spider-Man, Felicia Hardy the Black Cat, Spider-Man: The Arachnis Project andSpider-Man 2099 among the titles that followed. As well as working on various Marvel-related promotional comics, he also contributed to The Night Man, Mantra, All-New Exiles and other such titles in Malibu’s Ultraverse line. Primarily known for his inking he has pencilled the occasional story throughout his career, which he brought full circle in 2011 by writing and drawing a contribution to issue #7 of Titan’s CLiNT anthology. Baskerville has drastically reduced his comics output since the turn of the century though he followed some contributions to 2000 AD with a 2012 return to Hasbro’s Robots in Disguise, reuniting with Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman for IDW’sTransformers: Regeneration One. After his involvement on the last 20 issues of that title he inked The Transformers: Drift – Empire of Stone, an IDW 2014 four-parter. He is a regular contributor to Aces Weekly (the online comic spearheaded by David Lloyd).

An accredited LucasFilm artist, he is much in demand to provide illustrations for trading cards with his art appearing in such sets as Mars Attacks: Invasion, Star Wars Galactic Files, Marvel’s Greatest Battles, Women of Marvel and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Henry Davies Attending: Saturday & Sunday Cartoonist: The Beano; Private Eye; The Dandy DURING a career whose beginnings are lost in the mists of time, Henry Davies has drawn (and sometimes written) the exploits of such iconic charters from The Beano and The Dandy as Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace, Korky the Cat and the Bash Street Kids. In addition his work has appeared in various other DC Thomson weeklies, among them The Beezer, The Topper and Cracker. He also contributed to such Amalgamated/Fleetway/IPC comics as Buster, Knockout, Cracker, Cheeky Weekly, Whoopee! and Whizzer (both of which later merged with Whizzer and Chips), Wow! and School Fun (which was eventually absorbed by Buster). Davies – who created Grotty Lotty the School Witch for Marvel – has been a regular contributor to Private Eye for the past decade. He has also produced gag cartoons and strips for The Daily Star.

Her colouring style is a big favourite with industry insiders. Nika grew up in the Soviet Union and didn’t read a comic until she was 22. She began colouring comics in 2005.

Any special Beano project, such as the Stella McCartney Paris Fashion Week show last year, the V&A Dundee opening, the Isle of Man Post Office Christmas Stamps, the National Television Awards in January, regular media stories involving Beano-styled celebrities, will all have been his work. He was responsible for the acclaimed “Harry Hill’s Adventures in TV Land” for The Dandy. He’s also drawn Thunderbirds, Grange Hill, Baywatch, Stingray, Count Arthur Strong, Ace Ventura Pet Detective etc, etc over a 39 year career.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement: John McCrea John McCrea has been drawing comics for 30 years ( his most famous work is Hitman for DC ) and has worked on Wolverine, Deadpool, Spider man and the Hulk for Marvel , Batman, Catwoman, Wonder Woman and Superman for DC , Mythic for Image comics and Judge Dredd for 2000ad. Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Lee Townsend Attending: Saturday & Sunday Lee Townsend started working in the comic industry as an artist for Marvel UK on titles such as Deaths Head, Action Man,Transformers. He then went to work in animation for several years for Disney & Dreamworks, returning to comics working on Spider-Man, Avengers, X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk. Credits for 2000AD include: Judge Dredd, DeMarco P.I, Sinister Dexter, Synammon, Breathing Space, Flesh. Credits for DC include: Hellblazer, World of Warcraft. Top Cow: Kin with Gary Frank. SERGIO MORA ARTIST: Medikidz; Rogues!: Odd Parenthood; Unleashed ATTENDING: Friday, Saturday & Sunday ALTHOUGH he often draws superheroes, Sergio Mora isn't illustrating the adventures of any of the big guns at Marvel or DC or, indeed, at any other US publisher. Instead the Spanish inker is employed by Medikidz, an organisation that features its own quintet of super-powered heroes in comics aimed at teaching youngsters about medical conditions, investigations, diagnoses, medicines and surgical procedures. Beyond Medikidz, Mora has drawn a handful of comics for the US market. In 2015 and in conjunction with Nacho Tenorio (with whom he'd previously teamed on the 2012 second volume of Zenescope's Mankind: The Story of All of Us) he workedAlice Cooper #6 for Dynamite and then on Amigo's Rogues!: Odd Parenthood five-parter. In between he collaborated with Tenorio (his partner in Third Guy Studios) on 1900and its sequel subtitled Orígenes (Origins) published in Spain by Grapa! as well as on two historical comics – The Sinking of the Lusitania and Alice Milligan and the Irish Cultural Revival – for Northern Ireland-based Creative Centenaries. Most recently, Mora inked Amigo's Tenorio-pencilled Unleashed, a 2016 four-parter.
  18. FOUR DOCTORS, ONE COMIC! THE TENTH, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors are to be featured in a special five-issue series by Paul Cornell and artist Neil Edwards. It is being launched to tie in to the global Doctor Who Comics Day, an event being held on Saturday, August 15, the same day as this year’s Film and Comic Con Sheffield begins. Jester Comics is celebrating the juxtaposition with a special version of the first issue of the Titan weekly. The Rotherham-based outlet will be selling an exclusive variant cover edition of the Four Doctors #1 at the Showmasters show. Limited to just 1,000 copies, it is priced £4.95.

Our Latest guest for Cardiff, HELEN DARRAS Attending Sat/Sun ABOUT HELEN DARRAS: THE SYFY Channel’s Helen Darras is the producer of Exile to Babylon, the just released Dark Horse collection of the four-part digital adaptation of the currently in development movie of the same name. The comic is written by David Lapham and drawn by Patric Reynolds.
