  1. I'm going to take a slightly different angle on this and go for the ones that are most meaningful to me, which often seem to relate to characters and actors that I grew up watching as a kid , then as a teenager. In no particular order, because they are all special to me. Mark Hamill - All I probably need to say is "Luke Skywalker" and certainly anyone of a certain age that saw this film as a child will no exactly what I mean. Christopher Lee - Iconic, Legendary, star of many different cult films Adam West - He's my Batman, always will be, when I ran around the playground humming Neal Hefti's Batman theme tune, I was Adam West Roger Moore - He's my Bond, he was in the first Bond I saw at the Cinema and he's in my favourite ever Bond "Live and Let Die" Joss Whedon - BTVS, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Marvel etc etc , I've spent many , many hours being entertained by this man's work Tom Baker - He's my Doctor, from my earliest memories of Tom doing battle with the Zygons, eating jelly babies and wearing a far too long scarf. Keanu Reeves - Absolutely loved Bill and Ted, so getting this one was a real bonus. Erika Eleniak - I'll just blush for this one. Ray Liotta - Goodfellas was and still is one of my favourite movies of all time John Carpenter - Horror Master and Director
  2. Also have a look at the number of thread views for the guest announcements on the forum as well if you are not sure, as these are always a good guide to how busy a guest will be.
  3. I suspect there may be more than Sigourney and MJF in a separate enclosed area, with all the big names this year. There could be 8 to 10 potentially who I think will be in their own closed off signing booth. My guess would be the following: Michael J Fox, Sigourney Weaver, Michael Gambon, Jonathan Pryce, Richard Dean Anderson, Bill Paxton, plus potentially Christopher Lloyd, Catherine Tate and Neve Campbell.
  4. Well you won't get the cast talk clashing as I assume they will all be in it ! I suppose its possible that Michael's talk on his own may clash, but I hope those putting together the photo schedule will bear in mind those sort of things where possible and the same with the Aliens Cast and Sigourney.
  5. We always have one, so here it is ! I think I am going to have the busiest LFCC ever and I've been going since the first one at Wembley. On my list are: Photoshoots Sigourney Weaver and the Alien Loader Michael J Fox and the Delorean Bill Paxton Michael Gambon Christopher Lloyd and the Delorean Richard Dean Anderson Neve Campbell Catherine Tate Carrie Henn Lea Thompson Carice Van Houten Robert Englund Zach Galligan John Ratzenberger Kelly Hu Jodi Lynn O'Keefe William Forsyth Ken Kirzinger Claudia Wells James Tolkan Noah Wyle Marc Mclure Tom Savini Jeffrey Weissman Frances Lee McCain Robert Kurtzman Ronee Blakley Sherilynn Fenn Autos wise, may only be a couple as blew my budget on photoshoots ! Robert Englund (As included in the diamond pass) Christopher Lloyd Richard Dean Anderson Catherine Tate
  6. Autographs are not allowed in photoshoots. This is a separate queue, which you access in Sigourney's case either through buying a diamond pass or you need to pick up a virtual queue ticket , which will give you a number, you then check on the queue line to see when your number comes up, so if you have say 320, you need to wait until the queue line is showing 300 to 350 before you join. You can then pay per autograph and either bring your own item or use one of the 10x8 photos that are available, there is no difference in price. Normally a maximum of 5, but I think for a busy guest like Sigourney this may well be restricted.
  7. Interestingly I think there is a view that autographed original film posters is actually a negative amongst the die hard original poster collecting community, they would prefer to keep the poster as close to its original and pristine state. For the general movie collector though, I think they are as likely to be interested in a signed reprint of say BTTF, if it is something they are looking to display , so that is where you want to effectively pick the best image and that doesn't necessarily mean it is the U.K. or USA image, so I think worth shopping around. I suppose in these instances it is as much, if not more the autographs on the poster that are the key part, rather than the poster itself. I've not got that many posters signed myself, although I do have a mix of a few originals and reprints, but the biggest bind for me is still carrying the things around to the shows, which tends to mean I often don't bother and end up getting a 10x8 or DVD/Blu Ray signed. Having said that, I have seen some pretty incredible signed posters over the years, which do look fantastic, ones from Star Wars, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, LOTR etc
  8. Thanks andyfilm_1 I only raised as I know in previous years there has been the official option announced close to the event to be able to do this, but I guess this is based on phototicket sales as we get closer to the event.
  9. Where I have gone Gold before it does take some of the stress out of the weekend, so it is really a judgement on how busy you think the event will be and how much you are planning on doing, although if you are only getting a handful of autos it can still be useful if the ones you are after are the likely to be the busier ones. I didn't get one for the recent Collectormania for example and comfortably in one day managed to get 8 photoshoots and 12 autographs , however, LFCC is a whole different scale and based on my list of pre-booked photoshoots already, now up to 28, plus a Robert Englund Diamond Pass I came to the conclusion that it was kind of an essential purchase this year for me, although currently I am planning on cramming most of my photoshoots and autos into the Friday and Saturday so that I can have a more restful day on the Sunday and really enjoy (not that I'm not enjoying the other days!) the special photoshoot with Robert Englund in Freddy make up and the talk with Robert Englund and Robert Kurtzman. Other than that, have just yesterday added Catherine Tate photoshoot for the Sunday, so overall it should be quite a restful day, and hopefully will get the chance to go to some other free talks, see the stalls properly, but can still use my gold pass if I need to pick up any other autos on the Sunday that I didn't manage to on the other days.
  10. Does anyone know if these are unique views or multiple views ? Either way, there have been over 62000 views of the Michael J Fox guest announcement thread and Sigourney Weaver has already had over 24000. Michael has had even more than the general guest suggestion thread for LFCC which is currently over 46000. I always tend to use these rightly or wrongly as a guide to how busy a guest may be over the weekend and I think in general it tends to be quite a good guide. If someone looks at a thread they generally tend to be interested in the guest so may then go on and book a photoshoot or buy an auto, although I suspect with the big headline guests like MJF or SW many people will want to check out the thread for interest as well. Always blows my mind a bit to think it's like the population of a town, somewhere like Runcorn or Margate all effectively checking out a guest announcement thread !
  11. Hi Are there any thoughts yet as to whether we might be able to use our Sat or Sun photoshoot tickets on the Friday where guests are attending all three days ? I only ask as in previous years this has been possible to help get more people through on the Friday when it has been quieter and reduce the numbers on Saturday in particular. It did seem to work quite well a couple of years ago. Thanks
  12. I realised as well she is the last of the post 2005 companions I've not got an auto from, so will be great to complete that set, for the time being anyway ! Managed to get before at previous shows: Billie Noel John Freema Bernard Karen Arthur Alex Jenna Plus also have the Paternoster gang, Samuel Anderson and a couple of others , although not sure they count as official companions.
  13. There was some talk that there might be a double photoshoot with Robert and Ken for Robert Englund Diamond Pass Holders only. Is there any news on whether this will be happening at LFCC ?
  14. It's effectively the same station, just different platforms, you come out the same way and you can't miss Olympia, it's the massive building opposite and I am sure there will be plenty of signage, normally is for events here showing you which way to go in, which queue etc.
  15. Whilst I am sure a fair few people may have had the same idea of getting a hoverboard signed, it will be a rarer item than say a poster, a 10x8 or a DVD or blu ray, so on that basis there will be fewer around. If you are able to get all the BTTF autos on it as well, that will increase it's uniqueness because not many people will have MJF for example based on the numbers of autos he will be signing. There isn't an autograph certification at Showmasters events, so you would need to do this separately, but it would be a good idea to take a photo of each guests as they are signing your item. A number of organisations offer this, but I am not sure if I am able to list them here, but a quick search on google should throw a few up. I often have my sons with me at events and I was getting one guest to sign a Doctor Who item and he asked who I wanted it personalised to, and I said just a signature please as I will pass on all my autos to my sons. He looked really shocked and said, blimey, are you o.k, have you not got long to live (slightly tongue in cheek !). So my advice would be , don't get any personalisations, get photos of each guest signing and get all the BTTF guests there and hopefully if space you might even be able to add more in the future. Back to the Future after 30 years has become a classic so it is the sort of item that will hold value in the future.
  16. Blimey, I didn't think I would hear anyone say there is not much variety ! Guests from Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Back to The Future, Arrow, Agents of Shield, Stargate, Star Trek, The Musketeers, Power Rangers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles etc etc ! I knew it would kinda get taken the wrong way, I know there is some variety, the TMNT were added after that post which i am generally excited by, but do you not think Star wars, Doctor who, harry potter, GOT etc are done to death at conventions, with so many great movies and Tv shows it just seems to be the same old ones leading the way, my point was i like the variety they have such as the guest from The 100 for example but its only one guest from that show (so far) to me i think im trying to say i want bulk/consistance with the variety it would be nice to have 2, 3, 4 or more guests from The 100, it would make starting something new worth while ( again for example they have had one Bones guest and altough fantastic guest, and amazing show, still going stong, where are the rest of the cast?), it is nice when Sowmasters get that variety in there but rather than having 40 star wars guest, or over 10 GOT guests, I know they are popular and I love star wars and GOT but you in your post you name Arrow and Agents of shield and while yes they are current there is only 1 guest from each show and in terms of how many eps they were both are very low indeed. I just want to some up that I am not complaining, I love Showmasters and the guests they do get. just wanted to share my opinion on the orignal post of "120 film and tv guests" but when you think about it over 1/4 are from one film.and over half the 120 are from 6 things. Variety and more off. I think you are always going to get a good number of guests from certain franchises because they have such large and loyal fanbases, in many ways they are the rocks that the Convention is built upon and are always going to have people interested to meet them. Take Dave Prowse for example, he must have done more events that most other guests put together but is still busy each year. It would always be a gamble trying something different although I guess if a current popular show it would have a good chance. Nick Blood for example from Agents of Shield seemed fairly busy at Collectormania and I am sure Erin Richards from Gotham would have been busy too if she hadn't had to cancel. I'm always intrigued to look at what other work guests have done across their career as well, so have a look at IMDB, so whilst a guest may be well know for say Star Wars like Dave Prowse, but he also starred in a number of Hammer Horror movies and he was also in the original Casino Royale movie as well. The other challenge you have getting guests from current TV shows is there may be clashes with filming, clashes with promotional tours etc, so whilst we struck lucky at LFCC a few years ago with a bunch of Heroes guests, that was down I think in many ways to it coinciding with a promotional tour for the show.
  17. Space been made for the new announcements on the main LFCC page !!! http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com/
  19. We haven't done this one in a while and there has been a whole load of events since, so who are your current top ten peeps you have met and got an auto from ?
  20. The funny thing is it often tends to be someone you weren't expecting, Michael J Fox aside, I don't think many people had predicted Michael Gambon and Bill Paxton the other day for example. There's a tendency to say guests that you are aware have attended events elsewhere perhaps such as Mark Hamill, Sigourney Weaver or even Sylvester Stallone. I always thought from the start of the Diamond guest announcements the bigger ones would only be confirmed nearer the time, not least because if they are big guests they are likely to be busy working (filming, promotional work etc) so you are only going to be able to know in the few weeks before if an appearance is going to even be viable. So it could be the guests are tied in with a film that happens to be opening in July or over in the UK to promote a TV series. I remember quite a few years back we got a good bunch of guests from Heroes attending as they were in London on a promotional tour. 2 hours 40 mins to go !!!!
