  1. It was the Winter one ! That's why I couldn't find him listed in the Summer Ticket Store. Doh ! Looking forward to seeing him again, in the Winter.
  2. Are you having a picture with Zach Galligan. I'm sure someone said he often has a Gizmo with him. Gizmo meet Perry.
  3. was hoping to see lance Hendrickson and possibly Michael beihn aswell I was hoping for Jannette Goldstien, Paul Riser and William Hope I am disappointed that we didn't get any more Alien related guests after Jason said he was going to announce more othersThere were 2 other Aliens guests announced after we had been told that. Colette Hillier was definitely announced after, who was the other cast member ?
  4. The VQ ticket system works extremely well. I'm fairly sure, no one is planning on getting autos from every single guest at the event, so it allows you to focus on who you are interested in getting an autograph from, so if you feel your highest priority is Sigourney Weaver, head for her queue area straight away and get a virtual queue ticket, then to your next priority and on and on. Then you can go and enjoy the rest of the show, imagine, if it was just a queue for Sigourney Weaver, say 1500 people maybe more just in a queue for hours and hours, so you couldn't get any other autos, you couldn't go to any talks or photoshoots and you couldn't even have a look around the event and the stalls. This is how some events still do it, it basically should just be advertised as spend a day in a queue as you don't really get to see much of the event. I think the one ticket per person is a fair way as well, it stops people picking up loads of batches of VQ tickets for friends and family later in the day and I guess rewards those that have made the effort to get there first thing.
  5. I dont understsnd what your point is, it says above that you can only get one VT for one guest at a times, you cant get extras for yourself or others, but what you are saying seems to be the opposite of this? it sounds like to me that the crew that refused you extra tickets were correct and you were wrong? My point was that (for example) I picked up a ticket for Norman Reedus, there was no one else picking up tickets for him at the time, so I should have been allowed a second VT for my brother, but I wasn't. I've had problems with this in the past. As QS said, it's being addressed. Your brother has to be there though with you when you pick up the tickets, as in standing next to you, you can't pick up a ticket for him if he is not there. Otherwise, everyone would suddenly be picking up extra tickets for friends family coming later in the day or in the photoshoot queue etc. It has to be one VQ ticket per person otherwise it would be chaos.
  6. Sounds good. Let the planning begin. :-)
  7. I expect Diamond guests and some of the other busier guests like Hayley Attwell and Richard Dean Anderson will not do table photos, but you will find a lot of other guests may well do and be happy to do when you purchase an autograph. Check for signs and always ask. Please do not hang around waiting for the guests to go on a break to get a photo, respect their break time. How would you like it when you were on your break and this happened to you ?
  8. It can all be too easy to get caught up in the day/s and spend your time going from one area to another, looking at your watch, checking your tickets, joining another queue etc. So as someone who has been going since the first event in 2004, just take a moment, stop, take everything in and actually realise that you are there and what an amazing event this is. In addition to the fund raising that has been going on for Parkinsons Disease through the Up to 88 campaign you will see a number of other charitable organisations raising money through Cosplay etc over the weekend. An event like this is really a demonstration of the massive power of bringing together lots of like minded people and fans for an incredible weekend that can also do a bit of good for others that might also be not as fortunate as well. Say hello to the person in the queue in front of you, you have something in common as you are likely queuing up for a guest you both admire whether that be an auto, a photoshoot, a talk. I've made some great friends over the years. It will get busy at times. Don't forget the showmasters staff, crew and cosplayers are just people like the rest of us, be respectful and pleasant and most of all enjoy it, have a great day or weekend.
  9. I just wanted to say well done on the much quicker refunds we are getting for this show, since the introduction of the EventBrite ticketing system. Even with all the pre-show work that is going on I have received refunds for Emily Kinney, Maya Stojan and Ronee Blakley all within 24/48 hours of the cancellation announcement. Which of course means I can now buy more photoshoot tickets as replacements. :-) People are always quick to complain, but I always make an effort to say thanks when a system and a service has improved. So thank you to the staff that are processing this for us quickly, it does genuinely make a real difference as a customer to get this prompt service.
  10. To be honest I don't think you are going to see much of a difference this year. Over the last few years it has been just an evening event for a couple of hours and has generally been a lot quieter than the Saturday and Sunday. This year is afternoon and evening and like yourself I think a lot of people who haven't managed to secure tickets for the weekend will now go on Friday making it much busier, it may even sell out. In terms of what happens, well pretty much the same as the other days, stalls, autos, photoshoots. The only real difference is that there not as many guests there generally on the Friday, although on the flipside there are some guests that do Friday only. I would advise buying any tickets beforehand though, because I recall a big queue at the photoshoot sales table last year on arrival with people buying photoshoot tickets for the rest of the weekend. (Note, this hopefully will be slightly easier this year with Eventbrite ticket sales going on all weekend).
  11. Are the people that behave inappropriately people that would do this anyway wherever they are , or is something else going on here ? I don't have an answer so interested in peoples thoughts really, but I don't see the beach as being a comparable example. There is something about the nature of Cosplay, in that it is something created, something not real, something not of the normal world and I wonder whether some people are incapable or don't realise behind every costume there is just a real person. A bit like somehow people put celebrities on a pedestal and treat them like some sort of god or goddess like being and forget that actually they are just a real person like the rest of us and can be hurt or offended. Perhaps I'm thinking about it too deeply, either way it certainly doesn't excuse the bad behaviour and that's why I am intrigued to know whether the people perpetrating the inappropriate behaviour are people that would also be behaving in an appropriate way in a night club for example.
  12. Maybe this thread maybe should have been, how much over our budgets have we spent ! My challenge is more about how much I can afford to spend now on autos. The Diamond guests really eat up your budget fast if you are paying out for individual autos. I would love to get two from Sigourney, one from Alien and one from Ghostbusters, but that's the best part of £200 and that's only the tip of the iceberg ! I'm fortunate that I've got autos before from a number of the big name guests, Michael Gambon, Jonathan Pryce, Neve Campbell for example when they were in Theatre, but that still leaves some pretty hefty ones in Bill Paxton, Richard Dean Anderson and Christopher Lloyd for example. I was hoping to work initially with a budget of £200 for autos, but really struggling at £255 already and still loads more I would like to get.
  13. I've just added mine up, I am somewhere between and Lets go with though, a lot more fun ! And hey who needs to eat ?
  14. I know that gold pass holders will enter first but as I am expecting to be running about a lot between photoshoots and autos and could be coming in last minute to talks, is there a chance that there won't be any gold pass seats available in the reserved bit at the front ? I seem to recall from previous events that only a percentage of seats are kept for gold pass holders and that for example it doesn't match say the 500 (only an estimate) that have been sold then a seat might not be available. I'm just wondering in particular in relation to the talks for Hayley Atwell and Richard Dean Anderson in particular which I suspect will be very busy and could actually sell out.
  15. Five cancellations for me as well, although I bought a ticket for Maya when one of my previous photoshoots was cancelled , so she was a replacement for a previous cancellation ! Glad she will be coming back in the Winter though.
  16. As the Eventbrite store is staying open during the show, I'm hoping a lot of people will use that instead of the sales desk so it will be easier for us golds to get our photos. That's true Wrong Name, hopefully will take some pressure of the queues and I guess we should be in quite quick on Friday to get to the Sales Desk then to book our additional shoot.
  17. Whilst I think this option makes sense as the previous approach would have meant about 500 people with Gold Tickets suddenly in the queue for Gemma Whelan and Colette Hillier the £10 photoshoot guests, does this mean we are going to have to join the massive queue now at the Sales desk to purchase our additional phototicket ?
  18. 1 x Seat at the Christopher Lloyd talk. This talk will be with Christopher Lloyd, is exclusive to this Diamond Pass, and will take place on either Saturday or Sunday (to be confirmed nearer the time) All Christopher Lloyd Diamond Pass holders will have reserved seating and do not need to purchase a ticket. Same for Robert Englund. And Robert will be joined by Robert Kurtzman for his talk as well. I do hope these talks stay exclusive to the Diamond Pass holders as they were very much part of that exclusive package as I saw it, so would be a bit special for a smaller number of attendees. I agree but my point was they sold the talks for MJF and didnt keep any exlusive for diamond pass holders and that was the most expensive one, very annoying as it will be packed It will be very busy for sure, probably the busiest talk of the weekend, but at least Diamond pass holders will have reserved seating at the front. I guess as MJF was such a big guest they wanted to have the option of opening up his talk to a lot more people, but yes I see what you mean in that some of the talks are exclusive to diamond pass holders whilst others will be diamond and general talk ticket purchases. Personally I think the big draw on the MJF diamond pass was it was the only way to get his autograph.
  19. Difficult to say really as the Winter event isn't on such a large scale, so I think its wait and see.
  20. You are coming the right day, assuming you have already got your Sunday entry tickets , as these have now sold out. The talk with the two Roberts and the special Robert in Freddy make up shoot are both on the Sunday. Still time to order your diamond pass as well.
  21. Love a group shoot. Aliens BTTF ANOES Power Rangers
  22. 1 x Seat at the Christopher Lloyd talk. This talk will be with Christopher Lloyd, is exclusive to this Diamond Pass, and will take place on either Saturday or Sunday (to be confirmed nearer the time) All Christopher Lloyd Diamond Pass holders will have reserved seating and do not need to purchase a ticket. 23. The solution needs to work for all groups of attendees: For example: -I have bought tickets for family (including my two sons) and friends this year, as I am sure others will have, we are not all going all three days, so it was a mix of entry tickets , it would certainly work to put names on and then use an i.d. check though as others have suggested so that the i.d. matches the ticket name - There are going to be people who genuinely can't attend, due to one of lifes other challenges arising and so it is a shame if this ticket goes to waste, which could be used by another attendee. I am sure people would find it very helpful to have an option where they can efficiently return the ticket and get a refund and the suggestion above about EventBrite having this option sounds like a good plan, especially if it can manage the ticket flow availability and put returns back on sale
  24. Great news. TooTall what is the latest on Friday ticket sales ?
  25. Looks good, but no Ricky Dean Logan or Jeffrey Weissman ?
