I just asked. Send in items need to be in the weekend before the show. Whereas shop shuts the Monday before each show. So since there's no post Sunday, Saturday the 20th in this case.

I missed the announcement you were doing pre-orders for Gallifrey One too. Pity I could have spent a fair bit.

It was inevitable the moment they announced the sequels would be filmed here, with real background artistes. I expect they'll sign many more photos for the dealers as they will for fans, that will pay their fee. The dealers need to stock up on newer names. In some ways its too soon for fans half the merchandise we'd like signed probably isn't out yet. The Blu-Ray come out in April. Still that's an excuse to get them all back again! Obviously this event has been in my diary since announced, but when I actually sat down and costed it, there's only two I'd want, one each day typically - so I think I'll pass. I've passed on better line ups before. But I might do Bournemouth instead.

I think you'd be lucky, there weren't even any Thunderbirds guests last year around it's 50th

Ah yes, the wonders of the network. Get this Ealing Broadway - Newbury costs £18 return. Off peak day return. But that includes one change - Paddington! So it's £5.80 cheaper to use two trains than it is to just use the second one on it's own.

I've done that before, even got the bus

I suppose it's to let many of the three day people get a lot of what they want to do (as well as queuing and spending!) out of the way, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. I've seen the first day exclusive to club members only elsewhere.

I think someone told me he has commercial interests in a rival company, so is unlikely to appear at a Showmasters event. But I've no idea if this is the whole story.

Have to admit I was expecting a much bigger Star Wars gathering with dozens of guests from the first six films. Perhaps we will get one last big reunion for the 40th, next year.

Latest Guest Announcement - JONTY GREEN

pre·quel (prē′kwəl) n. A literary, dramatic, or cinematic work whose narrative takes place before that of a preexisting work in the same series. So episode 2 is a sequel to episode 1, but not a prequel to episode 3; and yet a prequel to episodes 4,5 & 6 -

I think they are desperate for everyone to start on episode 7, but I think I'll pass. There aren't many more I'm likely to get for the originals, with two of the three prequels not shot in the UK and so much CG or really big star names I'm not sure that many more for me to get there either - it seems a good place to draw the line. It was a finite collection, It would become infinite. If I start on Force Awakens it would be the beginning of a big and long lasting quest. More than a dozen at the first event of many. Everyone's posters will be full before they get a main cast member on there. It would be harder to decline a big guest, but I'd need to start with one, then get stormies etc afterwards Just imagine if there had been an LFCC in 1978 when the film arrived in the UK? -
Its further into the summer holidays than in past years. That will make a difference The cheaper places I stay at went up for the Olympics (4 years ago already!) and never went down again

Latest Guest Announcement - KENNY BAKER
TerraHawk replied to showmasters's topic in London Film & Comic Con Spring 2016
Well he is on the credits -
The problem with the summer is the official 50th event in the US is days after. As Showmasters are a partner in official European events they might not want to step on their US cousins toes. The 50th status can be counter-productive - the actors/agents know there is a high demand this year. Might be easier in 2019 to celebrate 50 years of Trek in the UK. William Shatner's got at least 16 events lined up for this year. Destinations can be counter-productive too - you'd save the best guests for those, so your best hope is that a destination has been organised and guests arranged on the quiet.
-
As Kathleen Kennedy said at Celebration, only Harrison could crash in front of two doctors (playing golf)

Got the rest of our lives for that. They'll have to come back when the DVD comes out, when every last extra has a trading card and figure. Don't want to fill your posters up with extras so you've no room for the regulars! To be honest, I don't think I will start with Force Awakens - it seems a good cut-off point to draw a line, but a big main guest could twist my arm. And so prove expensive in the long run
-
I've only seen 4 off that list Force Awakens & Age of Ultron on the big screen, San Andreas on Blu (only last week) and Jupiter Ascending on a plane back in April. I have Jurrasic World to watch in 3D soon though.

Star Wars: The Force awakens Discussion - WARNING: SPOILERS!
TerraHawk replied to Queen_Sindel's topic in General chat
Would you want to play a alien in Star Wars.. I imagine someone like Simon would pay to do it! He could end up with a Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who action figure. -
Clive Revill will do an event if invited.

What have you planned so far?
TerraHawk replied to collectorbob's topic in London Film & Comic Con Spring 2016
Nothing yet. As much as I love Star Wars I'm not sure I'll get autographs from the new films; it seems like a good place to draw the line. Hoping there's a few more rarer names from the original trilogy I'll be able to add on this occasion though.
