Hey hun, dont buy anything off ebay i agree about waiting, i have met all of them (Billy and Sean more than once) Its not impossible, i thought it was and i thought i would never get the chance to catch up and see Andy again but SM have come through! the hope you have to keep hold of is that at the peak of success for LOTR the hobbits showed up and that means they wont be afraid to again it just depends on whether they are approached (which is why we have a forum to ask SM to approach them) and whether thier work schedule permits! So dont give up, having the auto is nothing compared to saying hello in person! hope you come to GMEX and meet Andy who knows they may get Dom or Billy or Sean again! And if i recall correctly Lij said he would come back if asked! Its in a famous city if asked and he could i'm sure he would be there! keep your chin up and remember patience is a virtue, i would give you autos only they are all signed to me! Veasse xxx

I am very happy that GMEX is on that date as is my BF who i met at C6, we made our relationship official on valentines day and GMEX is going to be there to mark that! I made my points and my opinons stand firm about WS, he is a horrible man regardless of the woman who was deemed to be "EVIL" i know people who have met her in the past who said she was a really nice person, maybe thats changed but with WS he doesnt like his fans no-one can make him be rude and not speak and one saying comes to mind "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" i'm signing off now, its making me feel ill Veasse x

I never said the another show is a bad thing, i never said that i would like to see it done down! It is possibly the only true fan convention left because it is run by fans for charity and Anne and her team to a wonderful job! That said i think that "fans" who attend the ball will be going regardless of this person going! And i'm sure it will have success, the truth remains that GMex will be a huge success because its practically unchartered territory and people want to see those guests! The convention and the ball are two majorly different audiences and besides this is my opinon and i am entitled to it regardless of anyone trying to make me look like a bad guy for championing SM instead of bigging up WS who in my opinon is a total hack. What my point originally was is that people after this event with him will not want to meet him again unless its to have a go! Given the trouble SM seem to be having attracting people to their non MK events, I think that's just a teeny bit optimistic. The whole point for SM of getting Shatner was to take away the Ball's audience, but I think it's backfired on them very badly. 874453[/snapback] the reason i think it will be a great great event is i come from the area and i know soooo many people who want to meet the lord of the rings peeps they have Andy they have won already in my book! they already have a great line up and WFS is not part of that! i know someone who knows a lot about the event he is going to and its limited, very limited! i dont think its going to make any difference if he is there or not! and i think if SM was aiming for lots of people to get his autograph then they suceeded. my only point on that is the amount he has signed this weekend alone makes them pretty worthless besides if its just a squiggle and no photo or proof then how on earth will people be able to sell them on ebay?? thats why even though my dad would have liked to have his auto i wouldnt put myself through that and pay that because now they are ten-a-penny! His reaction when Rosie had her copy signed was a wryly raised eyebrow and something to the effect of "Oh, you've seen that, 'ave you?" 874343[/snapback] hee hee i bet! same league as when they mentioned they had seen the movie with billy in the bath at the talk! and Dom in the shower in HWI, i adore Andy so much i cant wait to see him! the last time i saw him was two weeks after LFACC1 when i bid on a gollum plaque and won in the talk, I went to the book signing in manchester and took my mum to meet him because she wouldnt believe that he knew me by name let alone was personable with me! So that was the time i was on the Ten o'clock news which was covering it and i didnt know until people in work were asking me how the hell i knew Andy so well! ha! Anyway he dived across the table and we hugged a little and it was wonderful, my mum was stunned as was the woman who had taken my camera to take a picture was just stood there open mouthed, it lasted a bit but hey i got a few amazing shots and i will be making sure i get the one i think is beautiful signed! andy is on the right you can just about see it the picture is a small one in a frame at the edge of the picture! i have the original which i will get blown up possibly, i wish i had it on the computer but i swore i wouldnt scan it cause i didnt want anyone else to have it! yes thats part of what my room shelves looked like when i lived at home! love the sala pic! cant wait for GMEX hugs Veasse xx

When i met George it was for my dad who was an original trek fan like yourself and george was so wonderful he even gave a message on camcorder to my dad and signed his autobiography which is a long speech and it was amazing! Walter was equally nice and had a good chat with me a few times! I feel so bad for all the original fans but like someone said sometimes its better not to meet your heros, especially if you know they have a reputation cause its just like a kick in the guts! When i met my fave band and it was rushed and they were quiet i was gutted, the second time i met them (linkin park) i made sure i got a response and some good pics even though i couldnt have pics with them i was happier! besides it was all free!!! it beggars belief to think that this has happened, especially the 500+ in 30 mins. thats just disgusting! yeah he really upset someone i have corresponded with who was on TNG, plus anyone i met who was original cast have said it many times. the mans just plain RUDE and i wouldnt stand for the way he is treating people, i think poor SM has thier work cut out. and £25 for a scribble and a grunt if i'm lucky? a colonic irrigation would be worth more and most probably less painful! First of all i am SO SORRY to anyone who was upset by the way this man acted. i wasnt there but i have had first hand information from people that he has worked with not only met and i must say he is not a good person at conventions and he really doesnt like the "fans" i really restrained myself about putting a thread on before the con, but now i'm here i may as well say that i was waiting for the complaints to come rolling in. the point i really want to make is DO NOT blame SM they are just getting the people they know you want to meet its not thier fault. this guest was destined to be a royal pain in the a$$ and you cant expect someone who thinks he is worth his weight in gold and too good for his fans to be proffessional, respectful or in any way nice. Hey, cheeky, I'm doing my head in trying to type up the minutes of a meeting at the moment and I welcomed the distraction!!
