I had a great time on the weekend, i got home today to a message from the hospital and the operation i mentioned to a few of you (which i complained about waiting so long and being off work sick so long about) has finally been given a date. THIS THURSDAY!!!! i'm bricking it! i am scared of hospitals and i'm very squeemish about needles and i dont like pain AT ALL!! but i know it has to be done i just hope i come out and actually wake up from the anasthetic.... i never been under before *gulps* so any mojo you could sling my way or words of support i would be grateful! hugs Andrea xx
  4. I had a great time both days as i said in an earlier post sat was great.... Sunday was more relaxed, the talks were a bit more organised but also a bit more hectic if you get me...? the queueing was weird! we decided since we couldnt get Andy talk tickets we would have a mooch around the stalls and then hit the town! We went to the HARDROCK CAFE, wasnt too far a walk (and my feet were killing already) and it was great!! there was so much to do in and out of the event!!! sunday i was waiting for the BSG talk (which was very cool) when Andy walked by and i knew i wouldnt get a chance to say bye to him so we had a hug and kiss bye there and it was nice! By the time we were leaving it was lunch time so didnt get to say bye to Sala or Kiran either so left a note for Sala and will see Kiran in march! all in all a good event! thanks SM Andrea xxx P.S my young cousin loved it too.... it was her first con!
  5. We had an excellent day - rather tiring but we managed to get everyone we wanted by 11am and we had an early bird ticket.... i guess being old hat at these events i know how to do things a bit more than newbies! we got to all the talks we wanted and sat near the front, we got pics with everyone we wanted, wandered around the stalls which were interesting to look at even if we couldnt buy anything! I bought a hermione wand which is bootiful! We are back tomorrow but we havent got lots to do so we are going to attend the talks we want and chat to the likes of Sala, Kiran, Shane, etc. We are also going to have a good gab with beth from the independant movie stand! so thats gonna be great! i think the highlight of the day was catching up a little with Andy and then before we went home seeing Lorraine and his babies (that was awesome they are so lovely) and also Jorge walking past me in the morning (i went loopy cause the duuuuuuuuuudes so cool) and then admitting when i met him how embarrasing i am! heh! he's very cool! so ya! great day.... the only thing i would suggest is the talk set up! If you must keep the guests in a row like that.... there was a lot of room at the back of them at the back of the hall, i would say that back to back with a small area in between for the guests to come and go may be helpful and also help with the queing and standing at the talks... plus the talks would be facing away from them as thjey were so wouldnt be drowning out sound either! just a suggestion and i hope you get what i mean... i'm shattered! hugs Veasse xx
  6. Hi, i dont want to alarm you but i ordered mine around the same time and i got mine already... if you have time to, it might be an idea to contact the post office and explain that you have a important letter on the way it went recorded delivery but it hasnt showed up... they may be able to help you, i hope you get it sorted.... i'm sure it will be sorted before tomorrow! hugs Veasse xx
  7. i understand that but they could have put it in the word "other" events. i think theres going to be a few people who feel the same! i was hovering round the computer with my dinner dripping off the plate waiting for ages.... and now i feel really deflated! its just a suggestion as i said! V x
  8. I thought that there might be a last minute guest for gmex because it said guest announcement for our shows and a thread was also put into the gmex section! I know SM are very busy but is there any way when they know they are going to announce guest that they could perhaps not include it in events they wont announce for! i got all excited and its not that i'm ungrateful but just asking nicely because to say there is a guest announcement and then announce in the other two events kinda is misleading! thanks! Veasse xx P.S if a guest is going to be announed and i'm jumping the gun i'm sorry but its nearly 7.30 so i dont think there will be!
  9. *crosses fingers* hopes for someone cool for GMEX Veasse xx
  10. you mustnt forget the best and gretest star from manchester in the world DAVY JONES from the MONKEES!!!!! Veasse xx
  11. hate to say it and i';m not taking sides but working in a cinema sucks and they are terrible for letting staff have time off... when i worked in the cinema you werent automatically given days off you had to work for each day! its horrible! and they often just drop shifts on you and dont care if you need it off or not! When i worked at ---------- cinema i was at uni and was on contract for part time hours... seems 8hour shifts 5 days a week is part-time these days! so i told them where to shove it! and even then they wouldnt let me go! it was a bad time! My point is that people have circumstances, everyone of us different! And despite it being a question nobody can answer when you have a question or concern, you should ask for peace of mind! BBB is coming almost as far as i am... (Exeter) it helps i'm off work sick and have been for 5 months (nothing to be proud of believe me) but it gives me the chance others dont have! i'm rambling now so i'll just shhhh.... I hope you get there in time for what you want BBB. take it easy and be safe! Veasse xx
  12. i'm coming from Exeter... however my parents are from cheshire so no hotels for me, so on the morning we will be travelling from runcorn... about 30mins! Veasse xx
  13. Its not pointless its just not right for this event! Its not a "focused on one show/movie thing" like SG1 or LotR so i would say that the amount of trouble it would be would perhaps jeopardise the event in the future, its just not a necessity in my opinon. and i agree it sucks having to pay 15 for an auto then 15 for a photo which you have no control over at the end of the day. Veasse xx
  14. I dont think its a case of it being justified! SM have always charged 15+ and thats fine by me as i have never known different! If you want an auto you will pay for it! if not then dont, there are others who will! I guess its just perspective! Ian is a good guest and if it means you only pay 15 then great! Veasse xx P.S Happy New Year xx
  15. two words KING KONG. that is all V xx nah cant leave it at that cause i sound meany..... as people have said it depends on perspective, from my perspective guests from the three biggest releases of the year *regardless of who they played* is excellent, plus they have boone.... i feel that this event is one of the best since C4. just my opinion though.
  16. 30???!?!?!?!?!?! wow i didnt realise.... maybe they will do a bumper show! and get some more people since its the first manchester event! *is shocked that theres already 30* Veasse x
  17. David do you really think the line up is done so soon???? WOW! I hope not, i think there will be a few more in the offering even if its just fillers i'm sure someone will want to meet them..... there is still plenty of time, and you know SM they like to get contracts signed before announcing and sometimes that means last minute! I hope you all had a wonderful xmas! And have a happy New Year Veasse xx
  18. all these are valid points, but it also takes money and time to find someone willing to take pictures at cost so that SM make a profit... even at 10 or 20 a picture, the photographer needs paying, i'm sure there would have to put it in legal terms in the contract and some guests would prefer not to have that element, then of course theres a matter of if they do there would be extra costs and the guests would prob cost more to get or be harder to get. then theres the matter of what the agents are like... it brings it back to some guests saying yes and some no, and then fans would be disappointed.... the event is too large and there are too many types of guests from different types of shows.... it would be too much. smaller events do that because they need to make some money... i have had bad experiences with it and as a frequent attendee would prefer it not to happen. SM do a fantastic job and the event is the best in the country in my opinon, you will never please everyone, and introducing something so shakey as a photo session would likely hurt more than help the event. just my opinion... i'm rambling... i'll shush now! Veasse xxx
  19. Me? Moi?? expensive?? hee hee Well, i tend to watch it now... i have about 40 autos! theres not many i want now! i love the events, i love to see what people have made cos wise, people put so much effort into it! so now its a case of seeing friends, looking at cool stuff, and getting the odd auto... nothing too expensive! Darkstar doesnt really get autos, its the social occasion for him.... and he got a great thing at C6..... ME!!! heh! Veasse xx
  20. i dont do costuming but i know loads who do.... you can guarantee if naurarwen fangorn is going there will be many costumes and just think, costuming can take you places you never thought of..... at C6 i walked past three lads, one in storm trooper cos, one as a klingon and one in SG1 cos... i asked could i take a picture, it was a sweet picture and now i'm living with SG1 guy, (Darkstar on the forum) and we will have been together a year on valentines day! never underestimate the power of an army type costume hugs Veasse xx
