  1. I remember the old days when this kind of post attracted pages upon pages of speculation and excitement.... now it's spam in under 1 page....
  2. I'm unconvinced, I think the comparatively short notice would put off a lot of people. I'm a Being Human fan, but sadly I think it's too late for me to book now, which I won't do without any guests.
  3. When events have sadly had to be cancelled previously, people got their money back from the hotel, even with the non refundable/pay in advance policy.
  4. Met him at LFCC a few years back. Really fantastic guest, very laid back and humble, top bloke!
  5. Saw it yesterday, loved it, seeing it again soon!
  6. Cheeky buggers, they totally stole that from SFX, but didn't credit them!!!
  7. They did indeed and it was covered (first) in an SFX blog, which was replicated on Sy-Fy (however it's spelt these days). My friend is the journalist who wrote that article and would never be mean or disrespectful to the guests. She was not in any guest encounter and didn't write anything about Sam and a make up artist! ++edited to add link++ http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/08/09/no-true-bl...for-snoop-dogg/ (Hope SM don't mind, it does contain a nice link to their website!)
  8. Also, when I use Chrome and look at www.showmastersonline.com I get a page that is 4 years out of date!!
  9. Could be my browser then (although its working ok today). What about from iPhone (OS4)?
  10. Is anyone else experiencing issues with teh forum? Since the website was updated, I've had issues viewing the forum, when using Google Chrome. In the last week or so, I've also had issues using Safari on an iphone. It does seem to be working on Internet Explorer (which I'm using to post this). Anyone else having issues?
  11. Riiiiiiiiight..... thanks for your 'valuable' input. You're right, I'm sure this IS an appropriate thread to whinge about the lack of Predator guests....
  12. You have Aiden, Russell and Lenora.... but where is Sinead?!?
  13. I would absolutely LOVE to see it, but I think it's something you'd need to speak to Showmasters about. *laughs* I wasn't planning on performing myself!!!! If people were interested (and weren't likely to be offended), then I might give them a call. I happen to know a performer in the area who is a massive True Blood fan! I'm assuming that this event is intended for over 18s? It's over 16s! I'm sure 16's and over can handle a little titillation (pun mostly not intended)

  15. I was just wondering, there is a bit of a burlesque scene in Northampton and I was wondering how people would feel about allowing someone to perform on the Saturday theme night? Is it something anyone would like to see? Would anyone be offended?
  16. I would imagine that it has something to do with the overhead costs. To run a show in London would cost WAY more than to do it in Birmingham or Bristol, because the venue costs are significantly more expensive, as are the accomodation costs for guests and event staff. Revenue wise, even the likes of Millar and Bendis would struggle to match the income of a guest like The Shatner or Browder. I'm sure Showmasters will try and get some more UK based comic writers/artists along, but I wouldn't hold your breath for any US based ones. As others have said, this event cannot compare to San Diego and lets not forget, the cost of attending San Diego is way more expensive than LFaCC (even for a local).
  17. Pretty much yes. Wow..... I'm a little stunned by that.... it's going to give a very unique feel to the event! Basically the event is in the undercover sections behind the seating. It's all covered. On the lengths it is open on the sides but the roof comes well out over the sides so no rain etc should get in. Also the guests in those slightly more open air areas have their own "homes" Yeah, I understand that it's well sheltered and protected from the rain (I'm an MK Dons season ticket holder), I'm just very interested to see how it works, I think the feel of the event will be quite unique! Yes, I would imagine that this si the case. The external entry points all lead directly onto part of the concourse.
  18. It's a very valid question. I'm not coming up until Saturday morning, so it would be useful to know what time things are starting.

  20. No, the stadium has a VAST ballroom (indoors) which overlooks the pitch. My understanding is that the talks will take place in the stadium seating (which is under a roof, but somewhat exposed if it's raining and windy).
  21. I assume the car park entrance nearest to gate 7 (the one leading to the asda car park) will not be open?
  22. I did say Collectormania MK Weren't they called Collectormania as well? (I admit, my memory of that time is a little hazy.... and I was selling stuff at those events!)
  23. If this is the case can me and my girlfriend have our money back. I think you are mistaken. As this thread is in the CM:MK section it's not an unrealistic assumption to make that the original poster was suggesting this for Collectormania MK. And CM:MK has always been free entry. If you've bought entry tickets to CM:MK you've been riped off somewhere! Depends if they are referring to the early Showmasters events at Woughton and Stantonbury Campus
