  1. This is what I think: If you are going to get something framed do the following; Get a generic sized mount with backing, but not the economy kind - use either whitecore OR expensive archival mount (only if you have something that is genuinely worth over £500-1000). The reason I say get a generic sized mount is because it is easier to frame these. The glass some people have talked about is not glass at all. It is perspex. When framing anything of any actual value or worth to yourself or to the public then perspex is the way to go. For those of you who aren't familiar with this, glass has no uv protection. You can buy plexiglass (perspex) with/without uv protection. As long as you keep your item out of the Sun buy the unprotected stuff. There really is no point buying something you do not need. Edited by QS: Sorry, selling/advertising is not allowed on the forum. Leaving your website address off and asking people to contact you is not a way to get around the forum rules. If you have issues with that, please contact Showmasters directly.
  2. Hey people, I created a topic on here for some posters I have for sale . . . at cost price. I thought I would tell people on here because I know a lot of you are interested in original movie posters. I know this as I am a fan of ShowMasters' events and talk to many people who attend them. I also attend them. Anyway . . . My topic was deleted . . . As selling is apparently 'not allowed' . . . That's fair enough . . . if the rule is applied to everyone, which it is not . . . . . . What I am trying to get rid of is excess stock, and for genuine reasons, too. I also stated that I am not making any profit on them - that is true - I do not lie. Many can vouch for me on this. So . . . I, for one, believe this forum is overly moderated by power tripping moderators etc . . . Too many people dilly-daddle around the hierachy here . . . Kissing their asses . . . But, I suppose trying to offer the good people of this forum a mega opportunity to purchase a few posters (69 incidently) for a great, trade price . . . is, well, wrong! Common sense should prevail with these issues . . . Seriously . . . And as someone who owns the world's largest ##### #### movie poster collection (better not say the name of the collection as that is advertising) . . . . . . Remember moderators, how you treat your punters reflects how they treat you . . . And for me, ShowMasters just keeps on getting worse . . . And what a shame that is . . . I truly mean that. Maybe it is a select few who 'work' for el honcho that cause people like me to look into the ShowMasters business properly and see what is making them earn a bad name amongst fans and dealers alike . . . Whatever it is, I hope it gets sorted soon, because equality is not evident here and it's all very, very silly . . . Now what's the betting this topic gets a tirade of negative comments targeted towards me??? Or I get shut down??? Lets all hope there is still a glimmer of freedom of speech on this forum . . . 3. *edited* Sorry, but we don't allow selling on this forum. Thanks, David
  4. The following cast members, some of whom I know are still with us, others I do not know: *David Emge *Scott H. Reiniger David Crawford David Early Richard France Howard Smith Daniel Dietrich Fred Baker James A. Baffico Rod Stouffer Jese Del Gre * = Those who I would REALLY like to meet!! . . . As in, to go on my Rolled Dawn Of The Dead Quad !! Ad
  5. Dwayne Johnson is a bit too big to have at a convention now . . . I agree . . . Although, saying that, if the money is right . . . Ad
  6. That's interesting Pez . . . . . . Gonna send you an email . . . Ad Well Pez, I guess I won't email you . . . AS IT IS NOT ALLOWING ME TO DO SO!!! . . . . . . Ad
  7. Event in Newcastle . . . I'm from the area and believe me, the North East is so out of touch with this type of thing . . . The event should be at a place with a high passers rate . . . . . . I've spoken to dealers who have been to events held up here and it's not all good, I can tell ya! Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing for the area, but if you're going to do an event in Newcastle it needs to be somewhere different, somewhere more accessible . . . A hint to SM . . . Why not talk to the MetroCentre in Gateshead!? . . . Get a similar thing going to what you had in Milton Keynes . . . And guess what - it's all FREE parking!!!! . . . PLUS It's getting a brand new cinema built! . . . And also, it is the largest shopping complex in Europe . . . Hint Hint Hint . . . Ad
  8. Oh, I see, so it was a forced issue . . . Hmm . . . Unlucky!! And a shame! I haven't been on the forum for a while, so forgive my stupidity in not reading through the forum - I should have done and so wouldn't have created this topic! Sorry! The venue will be better, obviously, on a size point of view . . . I hope it works out, as the original CollectorMania was my favourite event(s) of the year! . . . But I don't have much confidence :-( Ad
  9. Hey people! Right, I am slightly, just slightly, despondant with the change of structure of Collectormania . . . . . . As a fan AND from a business perspective, I think Showmasters COULD have made a huge mistake, although I hope I am wrong. My reasons for this are: The MK Centre is a place where ordinary folk attended and became drawn in accidently on purpose whilst doing their shopping etc . . . A market no other event like this can, or rather could, achieve. CollectorMania was held at two points throughout the year, often the highlight of many peoples calendar, due to the guests that were announced and the setting it was in . . . A shopping centre! . . . Now, there are many other reasons for what I have said, but correct me if I am wrong; people see CollectorMania Milton Keynes as the ORIGINAL CollectorMania . . . Changing the name slightly is unnecessary and I believe that the change in venue and date may have a detrimental impact on the event, as CollectorMania was unique and different . . . Now, unfortunately, it is not. Yes, these are my views and others I have spoken to, but they are also concerns. I also bet this topic gets a load of stick from certain persons, especially those who run the SM Group. Ad
  10. A lot of the stuff suggested seems to be the same things over and over again . . . . . . However, I do like the idea of a 'Crime Con'[/i] . . . even my own Mother would go to this as she LOVES the likes of CSI etc . . . I also think SM should do a 'Horror Con' . . . or something similar . . . It happens in Europe and they are very successful . . . so why not here??? . . . Hope something great is chosen!!! Ad
  11. Just a quick note to those who are looking for posters: Do not buy from Cinemasterpieces, unless you dont give a damn about the prices!! Ebay is the best place for posters, but you have to know what to look for. I have a load of posters and a website if anyone is interested. Ad PS Bond posters always sell for a premium!!
  12. Harry Potter event . . . NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! And who said they were the biggest movies of all time!?!?!?! Get your facts straight !!!! That last movie was s*** !!! I went to the first showing of it in America and even the little kids there said it was crap!!! Ad
  13. Any horror guest guys. And lets not forget; David Emge hasn't done that many appearances, and neither has Scott H Reiniger . . . And these people are realistic DavidB. Ad
  14. Yes. Pretty pointless topic. There are always newcomers to the hobby. There are always people wanting to meet these actors. Ad
  15. 30th Anniversary of Dawn of The Dead . . . 30th Anniversary of Halloween . . . kill two birds with one stone me thinks !!! Ad
