  1. The important thing is his health & well being. Fingers crossed Jimmy makes a full recovery.
  2. How about Jason W Christman. He is an artist who specialises in Star Wars pop art.
  3. That is sad news to hear. Hope Jimmy makes a quick and full recovery.
  4. Excellent, very happy with the great sports guests so far. Always said we need more Olympians then BOOM! we get one of the best performers from London 2012. More please [cough, cough Nicola Adams cough, cough].
  5. It's all good for me. It's a while since we've had so many quality sports guests & from such a wide range of sports as well. To be honest I'm probably a little too excited then I should be at my age.
  6. Just want to say a big thank you to Dave for pulling today's event together & of course to Jerry Ross, & his wife Karen, for agreeing to come over. With only one guest today's event had a totally different feel to other Autographica's but it most definitely worked. I got there about 10:30 & although not busy there was a constant line to meet Jerry, get an autograph or two & a photo. There was also a large selection of Jerry's personal items for sale. I just wish I could have arrived earlier to see the full selection as items were being snapped up. Jerry was simply great. Patient with everyone (there were some large multi - signed photo's that need to be handled with a lot of care) & accommodating with everyone's requests, he must have written his seven mission numbers hundreds of times. He even jocked when I asked for individual mission numbers on different photo's that I was testing his memory. But the highlight was most definitely his talk which lasted well over an hour. If you have read his book 'Spacewalker' a lot of what he said will have been familiar but it was still worth hearing it from the man himself. He also gave commentaries on video's of two of his missions & then took an extended Q&A which was insightful & candid. I must also mention the questions asked by the audience were top notch. None of the "how do you go the toilet in space" type questions that pop up a lot. I think everyone who went today thoroughly enjoyed themselves & maybe we'll see this type of one guest event again. It works well when the guest is as interesting & engaging as Jerry Ross.
  7. Another dumb question (I'm full of them). Is there any sort of timetable for Saturday? I know the doors open at 9:30 but just wondering when photos & the lecture are happening. I'm really looking forward to Saturday.
  8. Another great announcement SM. Got to meet Richard last time he was at CM:MK & he is a top guest.
  9. Don't know how many of you watch Saturday Kitchen Live with James Martin but this Con has just got a massive plug.
  10. Going to put on my deerstalker and point out Jason wrote; -and knowing Jason is a BIG Star Wars fan I'm going with someone from that world. James Earl Jones would be awesome.
  11. Yeah, the second price is, like you said, for sports equipment (bats, balls, gloves, shirts etc...). I'd be very surprised if you weren't charged the flat item rate (£20) for your DVD box set.
  12. Met Vaughany during his book tour a few years ago. He is a really nice person to meet. I'm really happy to see other sports getting a look in. How about a few of England's 2003 rugby squad? With the Rugby World Cup in a few months you might get a bit of interest.
  13. Got to meet Carl back when Sportsmania was last at the shopping center. He is a genuinely nice bloke and a great guest to meet.
  14. The higher price is for autographs on equipment (shirts, footballs, boots, etc...). Got to admit I am liking the sports guests. CM:MK has just become expensive for me. Keep 'em coming SM.
  15. It's always disappointing when a guest cancels especially if you are only planning on meeting that one guest. Maybe SM should introduce a policy of booking more then one guest from each genre so if one cancels there is still someone worth meeting from that field. I know SM work hard approaching and asking a ridiculous amount of people to attend each show but maybe if there is only one guest from a particular field available then it would be better if they attended another event where more similar guest would be available. Now I realize that a guest like Sugar Ray would only be available for a limited amount of shows, maybe even just this one event, so SM would have had no option but to take the chance to book him when he became available. But if there were more sports guests attending at Cardiff then the blow of Sugar Ray's cancellation would have been reduced and at least sports fans would have had other people to meet.
  16. Last year I had a little problem with a pen colour request at Carrie Fisher's table. I had asked the crew member for a specific colour but due to it being very busy, and being rushed through the line, the crew member couldn't get the message through Carrie's 'entourage'. So if you are planning on meeting a popular guest be prepared.
  17. I'm always rocking up to these things alone but it's always good to meet fellow nutters/collectors/fans. Last year I got chatting to three very interesting people in the entrance queue. Fingers crossed I bump into more interesting people this year.
  18. Hi Dave, Sorry for another daft question. I booked a Jerry Ross lecture ticket for the cancelled Autographica. Will that ticket carry over for this event or do I need to reorder?
  19. Got to meet Ossie a few years ago and found him very friendly. Although at that "other" show I'm sure I paid double this price. Either it's a sign of the economy or Showmasters are waving their magic wand again.
  20. Glad to see sports guests being announced but sadly Carl is coming on the wrong day for me Hope to see more sports guests being confirmed soon.
  21. Great to see astronauts being confirmed. Like Leacroft says...more please.
