thanks for all your advice. the centre:mk will be no more or less safe than any other regional shopping centre or big city. you should always use caution and common sense at this type of event. think about how much cash you're carrying and how you're carrying it. don't flash it about so would-be thieves can see it. it's also worth thinking about what you'll do if you get split up from your group. the centre:mk and all the stores do have p.a. systems but as a rule do not page for adults as this dilutes its effectiveness. as soon as you arrive decide on where you will meet should you get separated. i suggest you don't pick a door as they all look the same and will be busy. choose somewhere that you will be able to ask directions to should you get disorientated (this is easy coz the centre:mk is a big place) please don't become obsessed with security though. the centre:mk is a safe place and if you use your common sense you should have a relaxing and fun weekend see you all there BB

most hotels will let you leave bags there for the day after you've checked out. there are no locker facilities at the centre:mk and none at the station. i'm afraid it'll be impossible to store bags at the information desk. this is because of space and security issues.

it'll certainly be a good way to pass some time

unfortunately all the locker facilities were removed from MK for security reasons years ago and have never returned. cloakroom / left luggage storage has been discussed but the sheer scale of such a facility makes it a bit of a non-starter. even the purchase collection facilities in places like debenhams and john lewis do not allow you to add extras to your shopping while it's stored for the day. i'm afraid the only advice i can give you is this, don't overdress as middleton hall (collectormania) can get really hot and the rest of the centre is generally well air-conditioned and please act responsibly by not leaving your bags unattended
