Hi everyone - I've been to a lot of cons but this will be my first Chevron. I'm not sure I will know anyone else there so hoping I can chat to some of you :) I will be doing Vala Mal Doran and Sam Carter costumes for the parties but they will be a bit basic (not much time) so please don't judge me!

I'll be doing CMK, LFCC and Hallowhedon :) Hoping there will be a Chevron 8.1 to attend as well next year!

I wondered this too because at Lords of Time there were a ton of guests but no restrictions on autos/photos (apart from Mat Irvine/K9). Good to know - thanks for clearing that one up for us :)

You can pay for your room using cash - I've done it several times. They just like the card when you book as a guarantee I guess? If you pay by cash or debit or credit card on check in they will not freeze anything extra on your card/account :) They always warn you at the Hilton if you do this that you will not be able to buy drinks/food out of hours too so they are good at keeping you informed.

Most hotels do this to cover anything you could charge to your room over your stay. I always pay on arrival these days as then they don't do this but it does mean, if at the Hilton, you can't buy food or drink from the bar after a certain time so it has some drawbacks.

Wow! Can't believe they told you that as we have had a room with a free rollaway twice before on a convention booking! Maybe they have changed their policy recently? Bit annoying for attendees though as they don't do triples or family rooms

Any chance of asking the Hilton if they can add more twin rooms ME? A lot of us share with friends to keep the cost down and not all of us know each other well enough to share a double, lol! The Hilton do have rollaway beds available which makes it possible for 3 people to share buffy2k but they may already have all been booked for this or possibly another event running the same weekend - might be worth asking though?

Very pleased to hear that it will stay ALL Whedon - there's so many shows and actors to pick from that it will be a long time before we run out of guests to meet! Please, please, please try to book some more Dollhouse guests now you are aiming for a bigger line-up - they are some of the loveliest actors I've met and I really think everyone would enjoy meeting people like Dichen, Miracle, Enver, Fran, Olivia, Eliza (if she's available!) and all the others :) I'm happy to attend the event in Birmingham - apart from the lack of a nearby pub or other place very close with cheap food I prefer it as a venue - it's a lovely hotel, the breakfasts are out of this world and it's a 2 hour drive for me rather than the 3 hour drive to London! I guess I'm used to driving longer distances for cons though as I live out in the wilds of Lincolnshire!

My friend is having trouble ordering the £10 vouchers and I have tried and it's not working for me either. Does anyone know if they have run out? I know they have to be ordered before tomorrow for the discount rate. Thanks!

Voted for Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Cambridge as being the only ones I can be sure I can get to. Peterborough may be worth considering too?

At least they did say that 'some' fans were dissatisfied rather than implying we all were - that would have been annoying.

I was very impressed with all the crew I met, particularly those at Photo C as they were extra cheery and friendly all day! Thanks to those who answered my queries and sorted a ticket problem quickly and efficiently as well so I didn't worry :)

Have tweeted Watchdog too, ok DSTL wasn't perfect, but I had a great time, met 2 of my complete idols and many other brilliant guests, and would happily go to another event next year/in the future. DSTL certainly doesn't deserve to be on Watchdog for those few problems that arose over the weekend

It's a real shame Sean can't make it as he is really lovely but J and Nick are awesome and great fun, usually they like to party as much as us! I hear Kristine is lovely too so I'm sure we will all still have a great time. Please do try and get Sean Maher again for one of your events as he is worth the wait!

Hello! I'm a cosplayer and live in S Lincolnshire, not far from Peterborough :) I don't know many con goers/cosplay people who live around here either so great idea for a post! I go to a lot of events but usually drive so can't help you out with company on the train unfortunately.

Keep bringing it up - we had to remind them quite few times last year after Hallowhedon 3 about the fabric swatches early bookers were promised but they did come through in the end and send them out to us after a bit of a delay. So it IS worth mentioning every week or so!

Hopefully I'll be at Hallowhedon 5 - I very much enjoyed HW2 & HW3 and I'm sure HW4 will be just as good! :)

Well I have sent my complaint email in to the Hilton today so fingers crossed!

I didn't even realised there was a reduced rate specifically for residents as I've always mentioned the event name before to get the discount, although they weren't an SM/ME event. Will have to remember that in the future!
