  1. It doesn't help those of us who work when some of the biggest guests are Saturday only.
  2. My son just bought me the commemorative first days covers, I'll be getting them signed for sure!
  3. Billie was lovely, although pretty rushed she took time to have a few words with us. Having been pushed through signing areas before, I have to say that everyone involved with Billie's area was polite and courteous and didn't make us feel like cattle. I also can't fault the distribution of the VQ tickets for those of us who'd been waiting in line, again it was handled very professionally.
  4. My first Fangasm of the year, never thought I'd have this chance after missing her at London.
  5. Very annoyed it's Saturday only, what's the point of offering a Sunday ticket of the big guests won't be present.
  6. I met him in Canada's airport a few years ago, made an idiot of myself by forgetting what his name was and congratulated him on getting his own name correct when he reminded me of it. He then signed for me and was a gent throughout.
  7. Knowing how painfully shy John Simm is I was surprised that he'd agreed to such an event, but upon meeting him he seemed to be enjoying himself and was coping with the crowds very well.
  8. I hope this isn't the British Grand Prix weekend, it seems that Showmasters don't care about the difficulty encountered by attendees who live north of Silverstone. We were fortunate today, by leaving home at 5.00am we got to the venue by 7.30 but we had to leave just after 12.00 in order to avoid the traffic leaving the race track.
  9. Same for us, with the British Grand Prix taking place we've got to leave LFCC by 2.00 at the latest otherwise we'll get caught up in the traffic leaving Silverstone.
  10. Only bought my tickets this morning and could only make it on Sunday. If a man could squee I'd be doing it now.
  11. I agree, I met her but she was so much fun it would be lovely to have her back.
  12. Generally an enjoyable couple of days, both Friday and Sunday. Guests great and really friendly both days, the venue is still far too cold and exposed and the building work made parking today (Sunday) impossible. Minor gripes I know and not Showmasters fault but I do wish they could find a better venue for the event. Still, looking forward to next year's event already.
  13. I hope she's doing more than one day as I can only come Friday and Sunday.
  14. Am I correct in thinking that the deleted scenes established her as Newt's mother?
  15. Would also like these and would love to see Ken Dodd and Ronnie Corbett plus Clive Dunn and June Whitfield.
  16. My two complaints are the fact that the venue's car park wasn't open until after 8 o' clock today, Sunday, and as I had arrived early I had to park on the street some distance away. My biggest complaint is the fact that my Son and I had pre-booked tickets, we arrived at the event two hours before opening and had about 80 people in front of us. I was really annoyed that when the gates opened people who were paying on the day got into the venue before quite a few of those of us who'd been queuing for a long time. What's the point of buying in advance if you don't get into the venue any earlier. I have been to other events where the pre-paid entrants go in first and those who are buying on the day join the back of the queue. We overheard a number of people voicing the same complaint and I hope that SM sort out this problem before the next event. On a positive note all guests were exceptional, with David Tennant the highlight. Being allowed to take a few photographs while in the waiting area was a brilliant idea and seemed to improve the already positive atmosphere in the zone.
  17. I'd love to see SM play their JOKER and announce Mark Hamill.
  18. Memories of Playschool come flooding back.
  19. My son is a dealer who attends these events and buys autographs for his clients at cost price if they cannot attend. We have often seen the signatures of guests on sale at events when the same person was signing (ie on Sunday when at least one dealer had a Peter Davison on sale for around £10 more than Mr Davison himself cost) and have also seen people buying from the dealers rather than queue. For ourselves we always get autographs personalised where possible. My son only ever has photographs undedicated when his clients can choose a picture from a selection for themselves, most would rather he have their name put on the picture. If possible my son has told his clients that if possible they should attend as they can have the pleasure of meeting their idols themselves.
  20. I'd really like to attend the Friday Night preview as I can't get down on the Saturday or Sunday but it really does depend on the guests as it's going to mean a half day off work and £75 in petrol for the return journey.
  21. Will Showmasters be following their usual plan and forming separate queues outside the venue for popular guests ie Alex Kingston, Michael Hogan etc or will there be a single outdoor queue on each day. Thanks for any help, this will help me decide the time I will leave home to reach the event.
  22. It was indeed an honour to meet this man, especially as I had not exactly been a fan beforehand. My one abiding memory will be of him stopping to have a photograph taken with two small children who probably hadn't got a clue who he was. I hope they have fond memories of this Hollywood legend.
