  1. Does anyone know if the Roy Dotrice photoshoots have been done, i have been checking my account on the phone all week but still not there?. I am a whisker away from being over my credit limit and my bill due in end of this week. I really need this back in my account now. It may only be £15 but it all helps. Many thanks
  2. 3rd one is Catherine Treganna one of the Torchwood writers, I have one of these from the Hub cons.
  3. does anyone know how long it takes to get a refund processed, i did try at the show on saturday but the person i spoke to didnt seem to know what the process was only that i could not get a refund there which would have been easier i would have thought? many thanks
  4. Hi, yes i knew that ME only advertised the twin rooms, its just thatquite a few people book triple rooms for this event so they needed to know the info. Its always been possible at the Radisson and moving up to Birmingham has bought up this problem- its not always possible or viable for the third person to be put in a single room on their own or for them to share with a stranger. I realise this is not really a ME query but the hotel had booked people into the rooms months ago and is now saying its not possible if you were in a twin so this was for anyone not on the HW group on facebook i just wanted them to know so they could check their bookings. the Hilton is a lovely hotel but in addition to the extra travelling up there it is expensive in comparison to London.
  5. Another small query which came up on the forum yesterday for anyone who has booked a room for 3 people like we did at the Hilton please check your bookings as ithose who were given a twin room with a rollaway are now being told the hotel will not accomodate 3 in a room & they are having to change you to a double room with a rollaway and charging an extra £10 per night for the priviledge which is bumping this already very expensive hotel up even more to £98 per night. Why this was not advised at the beginning i dont know but the Hilton actually does not have any proper triple rooms like the Radisson but you wont get your third in a room if you have it down as a twin apparently. Not quite sure how this will work in there were 3 guys in a room as sure they wont want to share a bed but best to check it out as it has caused confusion the last few days.
  6. Great thanks for the info i will check them out, I need quite a a few so if i can save a few pounds that would be great, although will still buy from Franks when i see them as they are really nice people too and always helpful and I can never afford to buy in bulk so its just as easy to get £10 at a time until they're all done as your paying on the postage from Secol whereas you can just pick up the sleeves at the shows and the cost is probably the same your doing it like that. Either way these sleeves and boxes are a lot safer than that cheap plastic stuff that will ruin your photos eventually.
  7. Not going for autos as on a budget but going to get photos with Roy Dotrice for Angel and Armin Shimmerman for Buffy. We will probably pop over and say hi to Eve Myles though if she's not busy. I must close my eyes past the dealer stalls. Although may go & see Franks Autos if they're there for some of their wallets. See you all there.
  8. I totally agree i used to display my photos on the wall in the rigid plastic wallets and over time the signatures start to stick to the plastic. I ruined a couple of signed photos this way. I started using the one from " Franks Autographs" a year or so ago as they are the ones the museums use for their storage and wont ruin your photos & autographs. You can put them in one of the boxes but the wallets themselves are still only £1 each so just as cheap as the other but wont ruin your photos. Will never buy the other plastic ones again thats for sure.
  9. I hope its not the 9th this is too close to Hallowhedon and I'm busy that weekend too at another event which is a shame as i was intending to come to this one but just too close.
  10. She was over here last year at a convention for someone else. I thought she has said she was not coming to europe in 2013 so maybe not this years lfcc. hope we can see her again though she is very busy but fingers crossed.
  11. We stayed at the Lily 2 yrs ago. Its close to the venue, rooms are a bit basic & small but if you dont expect an exec suite and just somewhere to sleep i suppose, now so not sure would go again though we are used to better hotels but was a last minute booking. I see its so expensive this year i wouldnt pay much for a room there & the 4* con hotels are cheaper. We didnt eat there, not sure they even have breakfast from what i remember was just the bedrooms and a reception and doubt we would have chanced it. They do charge the earth for any of the hotels around Earls court but the earlier you book the cheaper it is, at this time of year they are all upping the price so your paying £120+ for a small room and they know they can get it. I would always say book well in advance for this ( we booked the ibis last summer) with a co that dont want payment up front so it can always be cancelled if you dont end up going.
  12. We have Armin Shimmerman but agree more Buffy/Angel guests would be great it does seem as if we only seem to get them for Hallowhedon now which is a shame would like to see them at signings too like the old days. Will be going to LFCC as booked a room last year and its nice to stay over with friends but only going to see Armin and Linda Hamilton so far.
  13. Also if you intend to come for one day your missing out, this is not intended to be a signing event but a convention spread over the whole weekend when you can mingle with other like minded fans as well as the parties, photos, autos and q&a sessions. Its not really meant to be somewhere thats all about just getting an autograph really. I'd recommend trying the weekend convention you'll see the difference and get the chance to hang out & meet new friends too, its far more fun.
  14. Yes any of the original V cast would particularly like to meet: faye grant, june chadwick, jeff yagher or Michael Ironside again Ashes to Ashes Cast - Philip Glenister, Keeley Hawes, Montserrat Lombard, Marchall Lancaster and Dean Andrews Buffy/Angel - Elizabeth Anne Allen, Emma Caulfield, David Boreanaz (probably better at a large event that Hallowheedon for cost),Lindsey Crouse, Julie Benz,George Hertzberg, Nathan Fillion, Bianca Lawson (& if they ever do cons of course Alyson, Sarah, Marc Blucas, Michelle Trachtenberg and Seth). Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher, Heather Locklear, Cybill Shepherd, oh and Bruce Willis (well a girl can dream).
  15. oh yes the Watchers Talk i remember that Alexis and Tony together what a laugh they both were. Back in that hall in MK where you couldnt see/hear if you were halfway back but the excitement was electric. I still have my ticket. Then i believe we had James on as well after them followed by the party which i believe Tony sang at too - think that was 2007? Happy memories. Really looking forward to seeing Alexis again he was so nice last time.
  16. Have to say i cant remember the cast but it used to be on Saturday in the mids 80s (85ish i would say) as i was quite young then. My sister who is 2 years younger used to be scared of them!
  17. i second that i am having trouble trying to sort out a room for our friend now, she's not going to be happy we cant all share a room as she loves hallowhedon and we bring pumpkins eetc to decorate the room. I cannot believe we've been told we have to share beds at the hotel cos they dont have any twin rooms this early thats ridiculous and i hope everyone has checked their bookings to avoid any surprises! its just not convenient for a lot of people and what about those people looking to room share this wont work. If this new guest on wednesday does prompt a lot of new bookings then its going to cause a lot more problems i forsee. thanks corrine for the suggestion i already tried that and they said we couldnt have a rollaway in a standard room you have to pay for an upgrade outside the con rate to even get one. Never had this trouble at any of the london hotels who have always been more than accommodating. Not sure how to solve this one at the moment.
  18. Well i would love to say David as i know he was scheduled at a con in the US first time in 9 years until he canx but that oganiser had locked down the contract to the only event in 2013 so if he reschedules with them i dont know if that includes other countries?. Other than that rare people will be Seth Green, Alexis Denisof not sure there is much chance of Sarah or Aly that i know of or maybe its Joss of course! .I am intrigued now.
  19. oh yes i remember 2004 very well stuck in the middle of my fave boys, the photographer had a problem with his camera so i got to hover a little longer than normal so had a lovely chat with James and david.
  20. For anyone that had not heard Robins Dogs Fiona and Tiny are happily settled in their new home with new brothers and sisters on a ranch in Montana.
  21. That would be great but i would be very surprised if you ever got Sarah to a con, same with Aly unfortunately. Your best chance is if they come over to film premieres or something, we did have Aly in the play a few years back and Sarah did open the Harrods sale so there is a chance at those sorts of things and they were both really nice to the fans so its not like they're aloof just a little daunted by crowds i think and only ever done promotional stuff in the past if its in their contracts. There is a possibility we can have David and James together again though as its happening in the US, its been a long time (2004) since that happened over here, i live in hope!
  22. True, his fee for a certain con in 2003 was massive. Photos for the event this year (£75 approx), its therefore going to be a lot of money to get him over here which is a shame as its going to price most organisers out and then the fans dont get to meet him either as they wont be able to afford the prices. I was lucky enough to meet David several times years ago but prices weren't that high then although some thought the cost of tix for the last event in 2004 was excessive. When Buffy was at its height and there were so many cons around (those were the days!) the prices started to go up a lot and this had a knock on to prices for other events as well. I am not sure many would be able to pay that kind of money for a photo op/auto now as finances are not what they were (even though my first thought yesterday was to get out to the US to this con even before i realised i couldnt afford it without a lottery win)! It does seem the norm in the US to pay £40-75 per photo op & a lot more for group shots and you have to pay for over the table photos out there too which is driving the prices up for us. Our prices are more reasonable but when you do have guest prices more than £20 people do moan so it is a catch 22 for organisers here being faced with huge fee requests. I have friends who come over from the US who think our prices are so cheap for photos and autos when they are only charged £10-20 for photos at conventions. Its certainly not a cheap hobby though for anyone but rewarding!
  23. Harry Groener Emma Caulfield Alexis Denisof David Boreanaz seeing that he is back on the con circuit after 9 yrs i see.
  24. Well i thought that too, but i tried to book a twin was told they mainly have doubles and the very few twins they had were gone but we could go on a wait list for a twin if available i just checked and its on my confirmation too. I wonder if this can be checked with the hotel a i am sure a lot of people havent booked rooms yet and may not realise its double beds.
