  1. Hmm tough one it used to be pleasant to walk about even if not meeting anyone. I didn't go last year but hear it was a total crush, even with tickets in advance we don't know how many are being sold, I suspect its still busy so will there be room to even see anything I do hope so. Think I still prefer a weekend convention environment where it is more relaxed and not so crowded and tailored to a specific genre. Sadly no guests I want to meet yet at LFCC, only really like specific tv shows mainly although curious to peek at Sigourney and MJF although not enough to see them for the price but will get an entry as its a day out. However, when did the price get so high for entry, didn't we use to pay £8 after 11am but its going to cost £20 now that's 120% increase which is a lot, was it one price last year get in the door? Can see why people are waiting to entry tickets til last minute if there are no guests to see as its a lot for a day out but then you have the chance of selling out. Have to say though if if gets any bigger it will need a better venue or its not going to be an enjoyable experience if too crowded. For those who seem to cram so much into a day they wont have time to run from one thing to another in time and get thru the crowds, but not sure where unless we are looking at Wembley Stadium or something!
  2. A true legend who touched so many through his work. Personally I loved the Hammer films and was only watching one last night. So sorry I never got to meet him but he'll live on through his many movies. Thoughts with his family and many friends.
  3. £20 entrance fee so far too. Some good guests for some just not that appeals to me yet, would have been curious to see MJF but not enough for the cost of a photo, but sure a lot of people have a lot of guests they want to see, will have spent a fortune and have a great time. Have noticed the entrance price is creeping up though, used to cost £8 after 11am now with just one entry price that's quite a big jump really if you can't go early plus this new processing fee. Still enjoy going up to meet friends and have a wander though but hope its not going any more as that's already a large increase at more than 100%.
  4. Its for HBO and about the Salem Witch Trials looks good! (The Devil You Know).
  5. wasn't this the date for the Cardiff event James was already attending?. Would be a shame if we lost him for both events, hope we can confirm the cancellations as they seem to have just disappeared off the lists?
  6. I really enjoyed last year and have all the others too but it was the pre organisation last year, many were very disgruntled by the time they got to the event, which was a lot quieter than it had been in past years as people just did not book. I would hate to lose this event but equally ME need to entice people to buy tickets they are not just going to turn up regardless & without a good line up, communication well in advance etc especially after last year- it doesn't work like that anymore for any con and hasn't done for some time. Whilst events are expensive to run, I already know that, equally fans also have to save up for these so if we don't hear anything till a few weeks or days before as has been the case on a number of occasions its simply far too late and people will have spent money on other events. The early conventions were run well by ME for this and other shows so the potential is there for more, but it does seem most of the attention is taken up on the signing events which seem to take priority, which is a shame as not everyone like the production line of a signing event where you get a few moments just to obtain an auto. Hoping for some news, even a hotel code or party themes would help.
  7. Are we getting any news on this event its now been quiet for months, no hotel code, no updates very quiet indeed and if you want people to buy tix after last year really need to get it moving. would be a shame to lose this event the early ones were a lot of fun but we need some enthusiasm here.
  8. I'd like to see reunions of tv shows from the 70's/80's like they do in the States. there are so many I would love to meet before time catches up with some of the older guests. Hunter - Fred Dryer, Stepfanie Kramer T J Hooker - Bill Shatner, James Darren, Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear Cagney & Lacey - Tyne Daly, Sharon Gless Miami Vice - Don Johnson (not sure he does cons though?), Philip Michael Thomas, Olivia Williams, Saundra Santiago, Michael Talbot, John Diehl, Edward James Olmas Moonlighting - Cybill Shepherd, (no chance of Bruce Willis I am sure), Allyce Beasley,Curtis Armstrong Magnum - Tom Selleck Logans Run - Gregory Harrison & Heather Menzies Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew - Parker Stevenson, Shaun Cassidy, Pamela Sue Martin Beauty & The Beast - Linda Hamilton (know she has been before), Ron Perlman, Roy Dotrice. Scarecrow & Mrs King - Bruce Boxleitner (know he's been before), Kate Jackson. Remington Steele - Stephanie Zimbalist and if anyone can get Pierce Brosnan then yay! Dempsey & Makepeace - Glynis Barber & Michael Brandon (they did a Collectormania years ago I am sure but nothing since?) Murder She Wrote - Angela Lansbury (she was in London in a play quite recently) Hart to Hart- Stefanie Powers, Robert Wagner V- Original Series (some have been before but not together) - Marc Singer, Jane Badler, Faye Grant, June Chadwick, Richard Herd, Blair Tefkin, Jeff Yagher, Jennifer Cooke, Michael Wright, Robert Englund. Then there are those who were in top soaps of the day - Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, the Colbys, Hotel etc.
  9. Parker Stevenson was lovely, he turned up in North & South didn't he with his then wife Kirstie Allie and of course the original Baywatch. I loved the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew with Pamela Sue Martin too I wonder if they are on dvd?
  10. I had a couple when I was at school - James Darren from T J Hooker he was lovely. Bruce Willis in his Moonlighting days Don Johnson from Miami Vice - loved the pastel suits he wore ,the car and his pet crocodile Elvis!
  11. Well now Aly is back on the con circuit this year in the US there is hope she may come over here again someday soon, its been a long time since she did her last signing here. Last I heard nobody could convince Michelle T to do a convention and she has been asked a lot, she did a signing in Birmingham back in 2003 but sadly not done anything since.
  12. same here non refundable hotel and only coming to see James, glad he's working and will see him soon at something else but a lot of money to lose. at least will get the talk and photo ticket money back I guess only just got the tix in the post a few days ago too. Always a prob when you book for one guest.Oh well await a refund soon.
  13. I only have an old nokia phone and I don't have a printer anymore either so will have to try and print off at work I rather liked keeping the tickets but understand its easier for the staff writing out all those envelopes. Is it also right tickets for this event are now £18 daily and there is no early bird or standard entry anymore? Quite a jump from £8 was this the same last year as I missed that one?
  14. In a bit of a dilemma with this one, only really coming down to see friends and James, and unsure whether its worth getting the early bird as opposed to a standard ticket. Problem is until we know schedule times cant make a decision and I guess by that time the shop will have closed but on a budget this time. Can someone let me know how busy this one gets, does it take forever to get into the venue as only ever done MK and LFCC before. thanks
  15. Will be nice to see her again, not sure she has done anything here since a con in 2005. She was very nice from what I remember.
  16. Someone not met before, wonder what he looks like now going to have a look on google.
  17. I know another organiser has already said AOS guests are extremely expensive and probably not viable and with filming possible cancellations too. From Firefly I guess Nathan and Gina would be pretty good to get. B/A are still the main shows and any headliners from those will persuade people to buy tix. Here's a few names for the hat anyway:- Harry Groener Elizabeth Rohm Bailey Chase D B Woodside Nathan Fillion Tahmoh Penikett Juliet Landau eliza Dushku Stephanie Romanov Bianca Lawson Amy Acker James Leary Dennis Christopher Jenny Mollen Sarah Thompson Tony Head - anytime.
  18. I think I would have a heart attack, I nearly did just when I saw Sarah In Harrods a full con would floor me. Wouldn't it be great though!
  19. Great thanks too tall for the reply that's reassuring.
  20. Indeed I am sure it will be a fun weekend regardless we know how to party. Just have one question I see there are no photos for standards on Saturday, does this mean those holders are only allowed a photo on Sunday but silver and golds can have photos on both days & buy extras this does not make a lot of sense? People may want their photos on Saturday then if they don't like those can get another on Sunday too if they don't turn out as they hoped. Can ME please clarify, thanks.
  21. Yay adore our Clare she is a sweetheart & she is the one I really want to see. Had a feeling this may happen when he was announced so long ago and a busy boy now.To think when Danny used to be here at other cons back in the day with Adam and Tom we never knew that one day that boy would possibly get an Oscar one day as I am sure he will. Hope he can come to another one.
  22. That would be lovely! Wasn't Robin Atkin Downes with her as well at the weekend he is one of ours as well.
  23. Damn had a feeling this was going to happen as Danny is in such high demand now. Hope he can come back to another one. I guess Tony is still filming with Eve Myles & a bit late for another replacement from abroad now at just 2 days to go. I am sure this will be an awesome weekend as always but for the gold/VIP ticket holders maybe extra photos or something? At HW4 when we only had 3 guests everyone got extra photos with the guests. Just a question but is there ever a contingency plan for guests dropping out last minute as other organisers seem to have as this has happened before?
  24. I think there would be a lot of very upset people if this happened and there is a big discussion about it elsewhere from people who were told about this at Belfast by crew. This is a large fanbase and potential to run for a very long time with the amount of guests who could and would attend, (if the effort if put in) and at this time of year its perfect. Isn't Massive supposed to be a different company to Showmasters in which case they should really have enough staff for multi events? Not very good from a customer service POV if ME are stopping Hallowhedon and announcing a Belfast signing event before we have been told what's going on so hope this is not the case! Please don't take this away from us we love Hallowhedon!
  25. I know everyone like different guests but agreed this is a smaller line up compared to the days of the shopping centre when CM was a main event attended by thousands. Is is now that SM are running so many events they don't have enough time to devote to the smaller events other than LFCC or the Star Trek one,in which case maybe some more managers if they're looking to expand further? Its the same with the conventions for Massive you don't hear anything for many months and then its just too late for many to book by the time there is any update.
