  1. I love the smell of Val Kilmer in the morning
  2. Loads of the episodes are still cut to shreds, slimline packaging or not.
  3. Ashley Judd won't even admit that she was ever in Star Trek. Her time playing Robin Lefler is, according to Jonathan Frakes, a complete blank.
  4. ? Thats a bit wierd, what you on about? it means exactly what it means. think about it, it's not rocket science.
  5. unless showmasters have got spiner to convince stewart to turn up for at least one whole day of signing, I can't see him turning up for one second. this really does smell like christopher lee all over again, and is just to get some interest in an event which has been pretty lame for the last 2 years. neither dreyfuss or lee turned up last year, don't expect stewart to either. different whistle, same old tune.
  6. Very original announcement by the Showmasters Total Lack of Original Ideas department. SM Memo: "Lets's see what guests other event organisers get and then have them a few months later." If SM are going to copy what others have already done, they should at least try and improve on it. So far, they're not even close.
  7. COOL, LETS HOPE HE TURNS UP :) I think you've already answered your own doubts about this annoucement. This has the same smell of Christopher Lee about it. And that's a really bad smell.

  9. Well I was at that event and they were by far the most popular guests with the biggest queues, besides Michael Winslow has done lots of other things, I will be getting him for "Spaceballs" Neither of them had any sort of queue when I was there, nor did I see them sign for anyone at all. And the whole place was heaving. Perhaps the members of their fan club all went to see them on the other day of the event. Ian Somerhalder and Maggie Grace - Lost - one of the most popluar shows at the moment, Lou Gossett Jr Oscar Winner, David Wenham 1st time signer and a main LOTR actor, Peter Graves - airplane, A Divoff & Alex Vincent representing horror.... A couple of small time tv actors from a flash in the pan show who won't have any longevity in their careers, and a guy who's had small parts in The Two Towers and Van Helsing, the rest of his resume consisting of stuff only seen in the budget rental section of your local Blockbuster and, wait for it cos this is good. YES! Appearances in a barely remembered 80's Australian soap. With expectations that low, SM can't possibly fail you.
  10. Sure, appeal to the masses. But that doesn't neccessitate having many guests repeated over and over. Since the increase in SM events over the last year, their guests lists have become stale, predictable and often weak. Any first timers they've bought in are nearly always actors from the bottom of a Buffy episode cast list, Potter, or LOTR film. The last MK Collectormania had one headliner in Lance Henrikson, and that was it. Ok, so who's the bloke from Police Academy? SM clearly didn't take note of how unpopular the last guests from this franchise were the last time any of them appeared at a UK event. I think that's becoming less and less true of late.
  11. It seems as though Wil Wheaton is running away in this poll. Here's hoping Showmasters can convince him to take some rescue remedy and make the flight to another show UK. Knocking him out like this might also work though. If you read Wil's website, I think he makes a point of being unwilling to travel overseas and leaving his wife and children which I can understand. He gives the impression he's left acting and the convention circuit behind him, and that he's settled down to a quiet author's life out of the limelight. I don't think he'll ever been seen again at an event outside of the US.
  12. They'd have to get themselves out of the box first. A paper bag would cause them problems even on the best of days. All most teenage girls/early 20 somethings want are ad nauseum repeat Buffy/LOTR guests, and that's what they're given. That places SM under no pressure to think outside the box. Can't we have a few proper classy old school actors from time to time? The whole event calendar is in real need of some good quality guests if people are expected to fork out 20 quid for a signature. I'm looking at quite a few guest lists for upcoming events and wondering why the organisers didn't leave their labotomy until after they'd arranged the guests.
