  1. I showed some people at work. The blokes were impressed by the fact I had a picture with Chrstina Ricci, whilst my female boss was more interested in the picture with Lee Majors.
  2. Watched two cracking series this year - one well-known , the other maybe not. Chernobyl - As some who was about 14 at the time of the disaster, it opened my eyes to how bad it truly was. The Miracle (il Miraclo) - it is in Italian with English subtitles, but don't let that put anyone off, the storyline is superb and the ending brilliant. Part of me wants a 2nd series but because the ending was so good, I don't want it spoilt. Also watched Riveria S2, Blindspot S4 (a few episodes left to watch) and currently have Big Little Lies s2 on the planner.
  3. I would be on the plane over instantly if she was ever announced.
  4. I can only echo the comments made about the crew. There are always going to be questions and queries posed to the crew, and what makes the Comic Con more enjoyable is the crew being able to deal with those comments and queries, so you know what is going on or what to do. It simply would not function without them. So, you have my full appreciation.
  5. Met a few guests on Sunday. Lennie James - what a really nice man, had the time not only to answers my questions (mostly about Snatch) but also asked about my day etc. I also heard him talk to girl infront of me (who said it was her first comic con), to come back to see him later on the day to let him know what she thought. Leslie Easterbrook - an absolute delight, full of things to say and complemented me on my hair !!! At the photoshoot, had no problems in any poses people wanted. Invite her back. Christina Ricci - very polite and engaging. Took time to explain her character she played in Monster. David Naughton - I think I unintentionally made him feel abit uncomfortable. I made a light-hearted comment about him being the luckiest man on earth to share a shower scene with Jenny Agutter - though it maybe because he hears that alot. Lee Majors - seemed alittle disinterested to be honest, but at his age and seeing so many people I can see why he might have been abit tired by Sunday. Abit gutted not to see Bernard Cribbins (second time I missed him) - if he manages another appearance, I will be getting a Diamond pass. Had money permitted, I would have seen Carrie Anne Moss, but travel costs just pushed the budget little too far. Hopefully, she'll be at another one some time.
  6. In terms of the original post. 1. I had the same situation when I turned up at Earls Court on Sunday morning. To be honest though, you can walk from Earls Court to Olympia in 10mins, simply walk around the back of Earls Court, across Brompton Road - pretty straightforward on Google maps. 2. Seating has always been issue, even when it was at Earls Court 2. The best thing to do is out at lunchtime (if your schedule permits) an get something to eat and drink at a nearby restaurant or pub. We usually goto a pub not far away - not the one right outside though. This was my first LFCC in a couple of years, and I must admit it was very well run. Heat was the biggest problem, just a matter of keeping yourself hydrated and pop out into the fresh cooler air.
  7. Hopefully, when I'm there on Sunday :- Christina Ricci Bernard Cribbins Lee Majors Leslie Easterbrook David Naughton Lennie James Phil Daniels
  8. Great, I was going to ask if I could speak to the crew.
  9. I would have loved to meet him, but since moving over to NI from London my attendance much more limited.
  10. I have diamond pass for Christina Ricci on Sunday (batch 3), and her photo shoot starts at 5:00pm. I need to be at Heathrow Airport by 6:30pm to catch a flight. As long as I'm out by 5:30pm, maybe 5:45pm I will be fine. Would you think I'm ok ? Planning on getting the Heathrow express from Paddington, so only 15mins to Heathrow and if I'm pushed for time I will get a cab to Paddington.
  11. Flippin hell, that scared me for a min. Just booked flights and tickets, then saw this. However, I'm coming over on Sunday 28th July, and that day wasn't mentioned.
  12. If anyone else reads this thread, then I can recommend The Nadler Kensington Hotel, a few mins walk from Earls Court. Our room had a nice little kitchette area as well.
  13. They will be going up in my bar, as soon as clear out some other pictures in there.
  14. Out of that list, cast members from these would be superb to get :- Animal House American History X Lock Stock
  15. There seems to be a couple of things that could be employed here to help the queue :- 1. Employ a snaking queue system, so the next person goes to the next available sales point. It stops 4 massive lines growing, and it's fairer to everyone waiting. 2. Perhaps there should be a Cash Sales only point, which would move alot quicker and those paying cash would not get held up by those paying with cards. (Though I tried to get some more cash out at lunchtime and ATM I used at the event was already empty).
  16. I may get shot down for this (and I apologise if these are exist already), but after attending LFCC this year I was thinking about areas which don't seem to be covered. Whether these would attract if enough interest I'm not sure. A British TV Show convention. There have been plenty of shows on British TV over the past 20 years or more where it would be great to meet some of the cast. I was of a big fan of Game On which which used to be on BBC2. To have a picture with Ben Chaplain, Matthew Cottle and Samantha Janus (now Womack) would be awesome, same would go for The Inbetweeners. I'm sure there are plenty of other TV shows people would love to meet the cast. A Pop Convention. A convention to meet meet current and former popstars. I know that my wife would be the first one in the queue to meet anyone from Aha. Not sure if these would fall under Showmasters remit ?
  17. Rather go into specific actors/actresses, here are some of the tv shows & movies I like. Cast members from those shows who be superb :- The Strain Blindspot Fargo (TV series) Exorcist (TV Series) Wayward Pines Timeless Blue Velvet (Denis Hopper would have been my ultimate guest (oh well)) Life Of Brian
  18. I maybe wrong here but I think the GA entry got in early because of the restricted queueing space around Olympia. We arrived at about 8.30am on Saturday morning and we were ushered towards the waiting queue at the side of Olympia (the next side to the railway lines). There is only a limited space along that side of Olympia and there were alot of people arriving at that time. So space was running out quickly and the queue management staff were constantly asking for people to bunch up. The queue management were not allowing GA to queue infront of Olympia along the main road. It was simply too dangerous with the width of the pavement, the amount of GA queuing and the consideration required other members of the general public along that pavement. So, people were moved in batches from one side of Olympia to another not allowed to stop along the main road, so it freed up space in the holding area next to the rail lines. On the other side of Olympia, again there is limited queueing space, so I suspect when the area was getting full. Regardless though, a solution needs to be implemented for next year so that Gold passes get in first. I have never got a gold pass previously, but I respect the right of the Gold pass holders to get in first given what they have paid for them.
  19. I first started coming to Showmasters events back in 2007, and went every year until the debacle in 2014. This was first time back since then and I thought I would add my observations to this thread, and hope that Showmasters could take them onboard for future shows (i think that's all people really ask). No show will be without issues, but hopefully problems from previous shows have been sorted. 1. We were in General Entry and arrived at 8.30am and were in the venue by about 9.05am, my word what an improve since my last visit. I know there were issues with General Admission getting in either before or at the same time as Gold holders, and that does really need to be addressed given how much people pay for them. 2. My wife had Diamond pass for Richard Dean Anderson and it worked really well. She got her photo in no time at all and had an autograph with about 5-10 people ahead of her in the queue. This leads to the realisation that if you really want to see someone then you really need to get a Diamond pass. Unfortunately, this is the way that things seem to have gone with comic-con conventions (especially the main London one). I dithered over a Diamond pass for Alyson Hannigan and by the time I had made up my mind on Saturday it was too late. Future lesson learned. One thing I would like to raise about Diamond passes, is that when you buy them from the ticket site you specify which day it's for. I bought the Diamond pass for RDA for the Saturday. Now, when you look at what a Diamond pass includes, it includes the talk from the guest. This is misleading because RDA's talk was on the Sunday only. So, ineffect we are paying for something that we don't actually get. I wonder if there is a possibility of getting different prices for Diamond passes on days where a talk is not hosted. 3. The Sales Desk - this was the biggest problem. The waiting time to be seen at at Sales Desk was at least an hour, which is simply not good enough. Infact, I walked away from the queue after 30mins as I hardly got anywhere. Showmasters are losing money here. There were people saying you could go online and purchase tickets, but both my wife and I tried wifi and 4G connection without any success. The bandwidth on the networks simply seemed saturated. I know that Showmasters would advocate buying tickets before the event, but sometimes it's a spur of the moment decision. 4. Food/Drink - I know this is not a showmasters area, but maybe something they could pass onto the building management. At the lunchtime peak, the outlets were inevitably really busy but again the queues the queues seemed to move at snails pace at best. We walked away from two queues. In the end we left the building and went down the road to the Cumberland Arms, where it had alot of people from the show. Whilst not in Olympia, people aren't spending their money there. I feel there is more than enough space around the perimeter of the floor area to have some "pop-up" food stalls, so it spreads out the people more. The Midnight food van was a joke, run out of beef brisket before 1pm and closed entirely not too long afterwards. 5. Seating - this has always been an issue at events and hasn't improved. There still simply no seating and everyone is sitting on the floor. I can't see why some benches could not be put along the edges, which is where people up sitting on the floor. So the question is would we go back to being regular attendees again ? Possibly. I would definitely try and ensure that we go either Friday or Sunday next time (unfortunately this year we were restricted on when we could go). I would purchase Diamond passes for guests I definitely want to see as well, as the era of seeing the bigger names later the day with standard queue tickets or hoping for an "open" queue have gone. Joining queues when I see they are "open". I made the mistake of of leaving Bernard Cribbins until later when he had an "open" at the time, result he was really busy went I went back and subsequently didn't get to see him. It also seems that guests take more time with autographs these days. I remember going to a show back in 2008 (i think) where Scott Bakula and Keely Hawes got through a phenomenal amount of people, not sure this happens nowadays (i maybe wrong). As I said above, all I ask if that Showmasters appreciate the feedback and take note of these observations for future shows.
  20. I am had my picture taken with Pamela Anderson on Saturday, eventhough I had read about the overexposed flash issues with them on Friday. My view is it's 50/50 really. I think Pamela Anderson should really understand it's not her photos here, other people are paying for them however if this is stipulation she sets down then it's really a case of either set the photos to a high flash or she doesn't do the photoshoot. At the end of the day, it's really down to the individual, do you want a photo with Pamela Anderson or not ? One thing I would say, is that I bought my Saturday photoshoot ticket for Pamela Anderson from the Sales desk late on Friday (around 5:45pm) and they made no comment about them being too bright with the flash, yet they must have known because people from Friday had been coming to Sales desk to complain. I feel that I should have been told before purchasing the photoshoot.
  21. Apologies if this can be found elsewhere, but I tried FAQ's and could not find them :- 1. My wife has a Diamond Pass for RDA on Sat and his photoshoot is from 9:30am to 10:20am - what happens if she misses it due to the queue getting into the event ? 2. If you buy a photoshoot ticket (but don't have a Diamond or Gold pass) and it's too busy to use it - do you get your money back ? Thanks.
  22. Anyone from the cast of the The Strain Anyone from the cast the Exorcist (TV Series) Anyone from the cast of Blindspot Gemma Chan from Humans Emily Berrington from Humans
  23. Thanks, much appreciated. We don't mind waiting a little while, and if the majority of the queue was in by 09:30 last year then it's dramatic improvement.
  24. Our last visit to LFCC back in 2014 was an absolute disaster, arrived about 09.30 - 10am to find a horrendous queue all the way around Earls Court. We simply left after about 30mins realising that we either had to wait many hours to get in or not get in at all. I said that if it's going to be like this from now on, we'll just have to give it a miss. I want to give it another try, because I want to get a diamond pass for one of the guests for my wife as a birthday present, however obviously I want to avoid such an experience again. As we are flying over from Ireland on the Saturday, we can't get there really early. So, I'm looking to try and get the right tickets and I see there is no such thing as an early entry ticket anymore. If we arrive around 09:30-10am again on a Saturday entry ticket what sort of queue are we likely to expect ? (ie. have things improved over the past couple of years). I know you would probably recommend a gold passes, but with the cost of the flights to come over as well not sure finances could stretch that far. Obviously, a good experience this time around would restore our confidence again and likelihood to attend again. Many Thanks.
  25. Great post, but I'm afraid it's like banging your head against a brick wall and this post will soon disappear (like many others have done this week). 1. Still treating customers with distain - "...people thinking it would a good idea to stand out there all day" 2. Online shop closing so they don't over sell the event - if you have a capacity of 10,000 per day and the ticket sales reach 10,000 then stop - then you can't over sell 3. People still pointing out that his timings on the entrances of ticket holders is incorrect.
