  1. A sad, sad thing. Maybe one day/weekend in the far future...............
  2. Just checked in after a couple of days in the hope of an announcement here or on the website. Still nothing concrete I see. Disappointing.
  3. Lets all keep calm and give them a few more days....then I think it will be 'make or break'. By the way...no I haven't bought my ticket yet....too much to consider....the price, the days off work, family commitments, etc. I just can't commit to the ticket until I know a little more is confirmed.
  4. Yep....there was one postponement already. And before that I waited with baited breathe for ages for AAA to decide if TFF3 was going to happen.....seems I've been waiting a lllllllooooooooonnnnnnngggggg time! By the way, I'm trying to post my Avatar which I've done on other boards including keeptothecode.com....but it's not working. Can anyone help? I have it in Photobucket as a jpg but the message says it's an incorrect file ext. Ta.
  5. Seems almost impossible in 2 months....it's not just a collector's fair, is it? As has already been said by people who know, there's an incredible amount of organisation and hard work. Didn't AAevents start on the next TFF the very day after the first one ended? They kept people informed on the website righ from that moment too! That's the way to do it. I guess SM are concerned as TFF 3 never happened because TFF 2 did not sell enough tickets. I go with the idea of maybe putting this back until next year so there's time to organise and, just as importantly, promote Ringconuk 2008! Contact some big name and small name guests, societies, etc. NOW and find out their provisional schedules for next year - then arrange a date. Refund the ticket holders and give them priority next time. Those who have paid hotel deposits and flight fares might not agree though! Still, what do I know...I've never tried to do it! Just thinking common sense.....probably talking BS!
  6. G reat to hear a reply at last! A shame that it's so hard to get guests nowadays. It was so great at the FF s - Karl Urban. John Noble, Billy Boyd, Brnard Hill, Craig and Mark, Lawrence Makoare, Bruce Hopkins, Sanda McLeod, Jed Brophy, Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger, Thomas Robins, Kiran Shah, Shane Rangi,Royd Tolkien, Daniel Falconer (Weta), John Howe, Alan Lee, Cameron Rhodes, the Kopps, stunt guys, make-up artists and the Tolkien Society, etc., etc. Where are they all now? The presentations, accounts, dancing, parties, seminars, etc., etc. This is what Showmasters are up against because us fans have been to these two great events and I guess we are going to compare that with what SM have to offer. Also, it's so close to another show Germany. I don't know what the answer is, SM. I'm devastated though that there might not be some kind of UK con again this year!
  7. How come Craig isn't with Mark at German another show? By the way, is that Craig in the Orange Ads on TV in England? I'm sure it is but when I Googled it I coldn't find out!
  8. Great pics! Perhaps we should get nostalgic and start posting our pix from the FFs and another show?
  9. Sir Ian is back in London from middle of November to do King Lear. Would be a better bet to get an autograph outside the theatre. By the way.....I saw Orlando Bloom today outside the theatre where he is appearing and I got a photo...biut he had no time for autographs as he was running late! He looked great!
  10. [At this rate, there won't be any guests to charge anything for... That's why I haven't paid! That's why I haven't paid! Have sent an e-mail to Sir Ian's website to ask him.....probably won't be answered and I know he's not known to be a regular attender at such things! Would be good to know if he's been asked though.
  11. This is not good and maybe our worse fears are becoming reality! Has anyone got e-mail access to any other people involved in the films/TS/etc.? Just wishing we could ask more people if they have been invited or even heard about it? Need inside information!
  12. Yes it's mostly about Tolkien....but in that case, come on Showmasters, let us know what/who you are planning! At the moment what exactly DO we have? Not a lot to go on!
  13. i Have to agree...I've held on for ages, got a quote from Radisson, etc. but now need to book a Friday off work if I'm going. I need to know for sure to book this day off...so I'm afraid I'm going for an alternative art and craft exhibition. Would much prefer RC as I attended both FFs, but I can't spend £400+ without more information on the event....especially as only Andy is announced and I've met Andy a couple of times before. I know it's not all about the star guests..but that certainly IS an exciting part of the convention! How about the artists, Tolkien Society, stunt guys and girls, make-up artists, etc. Surely something/someone else should have been arranged by now! How about our overseas friends? They need info even more urgently if they are to book flights, etc.
