I was actually surprised the threads lasted as long as they did. I can’t count the number of posts I’ve had deleted in the past -and for genuine constructive criticism too. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, SM put money before their customers and even though we’ve all sworn blind that we’d not give them any future business, the minute they announce “INSERT GUEST NAME HERE”, we all come back…not ideal but what can you do when SM have such a monopoly?

What’s any of this got to do with guests personalising at LFCC???

Or just someone who wants to pass it on to their kids in the future and wants some provenance for them that it was signed by the celebrity…not necessarily just flippers.

I’m fairly concerned at the general blasé attitude to Covid at the moment, especially given the historic death toll and as we don’t know what the long term effects will be. Let’s not forget, the main reason that masks are no longer mandated is because Boris and his cronies got caught partying away whilst the nation respected the rules, to the extent that they couldn’t even be with loved ones when they passed on, alone. The Govt lost all authority on the subject once Partygate made the news. I won’t listen to that buffoon and his self serving cabinet about anything, let alone about “living with” Covid. His days in office are numbered… I’m not going to LFCC this year mainly because of the increased Covid risk, but having said that there aren’t many good guests left that interest me after all the cancellations… Stay safe everyone!

Yes I’ve been away from the forum for the best part of 2 years and really surprised how poorly run it is. Sure critical comments used to get deleted left, right and centre but if you had a query it was promptly picked up and a response was forthcoming. If this comment is still here in a week’s time, kinda proves my point…

Thanks for posting, would love to have come, but Covid’s too much of a risk for me at present, let alone this new Omnicrom variant or whatever it’s called! Great to see you went to a number of the guests I would have seen, so thanks for sharing. Shame no one at SM responded to me about the Phil Philmar preorder issue - hope he goes to another show when, hopefully, things have improved Covid-wise.

Finding out myself how bad the customer service is - wanting to preorder for a guest this coming Sunday at the Film Fair who’s not yet been added to the preorders list. I’ve emailed twice, no response, mentioned this on the forum, no mod assistance… That’s my money going begging -still I suppose it’s not as if we’ve had a raft of cancelled shows the last 18 months and Showmasters are in need of the money…

Funny as these shots are, did this issue not get noticed by the photographer at the time? I wasn’t there, so I don’t know if the background was added later as in a green screen shot, but can’t help but think if it wasn’t, something could have been said/done to avoid the issue. Personally I wouldn’t be happy with the photo - it’s funny but looks a bit ridiculous.

Yes it’s been discussed before that overselling DP passes has diminished their purpose to a certain extent and I’m in agreement with this. Even though you pay a premium, you end up in a line as long as a regular VQ line in any event and the VQ ticketed visitors will barely get a look in. A lot of people can’t afford the DP’s and even those who can might want to devote those funds to an A lister who’s more likely to be a sell out. No offence but surprised to hear Brian Blessed qualifies in that respect.

Can a mod assist here? I've emailed the customer service address twice without reply as he’s still not been added as a preorder. Oddly Sylvia Sims has and I can’t see that she’s even attending.

Will he be added to the pre-orders as I can’t make it regrettably? Would love a signed, dedicated photo as above! Cheers in advance.

That’s not the same and you know it... The fact that SM have previously accommodated in-door queuing for these events completely undermines your attempt to ridicule me. Early queuing at these events is a given, especially when diamond passes are not made available for some guests. In fact I’d go as far to say it’s encouraged by SM if you want to guarantee meeting any guest who will be in demand, hence their giving out VQ tickets. Ultimately I’m not moaning, I’m just trying to provide some constructive feedback to SM-we don’t all have a furry hide to cover our backs...

Yes, I’ve got to stress that this was the venue staff not SM, but I do feel an earlier appearance by SM staff is warranted at these events to minimise any disruption. The venue staff don’t give 2 hoots that you may have queued from 5am and then get moved behind people who arrived 2 hours later and end up substantially down the queue. At least if someone from SM is there they can help reorganise the queue, if not prevent any of these misunderstandings from happening in the first place. Also I should say that having us queue out in the wind and rain was shocking. I saw people queuing for their early photo shoot with Charles Dance soaked through. Furthermore one of my lithographs has water damage where the torrential rain seeped through my folder.

Almost certainly that’s the reason, frankly I’m surprised as many guests actually attended, not least ones who have a history of cancelling!
