AHA been waiting for this thread to go up! The crew were amazing as usual but wanted to extend a special thanks to the folks on photo area A - especially the very lovely - but surely stressed - lady who manned the walkie on the Saturday, such a love and looked after my (disabled) mum really well - ok all you guys did but seeing as she looked epically stressed she still took a second to help us out - so thank you!! Have got my mum hooked on Showmasters now and it's a lot to do with how well she was treated. Gold stars all round girls and boys - couldn't be happier with the help we got over the weekend!

Just had a nose at that chinese place online and looks quite nice, think we'll be looking out for that - cheers!!

I'd be interested to know where is a good place for some grub near the venue?? Last time we stayed in the Easy Hotel for CM London and just got ready to eat stuff from tesco but this time think we'll be a little bit too out of walking distance for where we're staying. Before that we were with friends. Don't suppose anyone knows of a weatherspoons or something nearby, something cheap and cheerful?

I've been really good not buying loads of stuff this time. Bought a t shirt each for me and the boy and some bits off the American Food stall. Best buy though was the KISS diorama set of the Destroyer album cover. Never have I seen KISS stuff at a SM con - and all four for £20 wasn't bad. Only worry atm is painting them but hey, I love a challenge! Looking forward to Fluff on toast for breakfast tomorrow too hehe

We did the rounds yesterday, epically long day!! We arrived at half 9 - got number 511 for Sir Patrick and 300 for Linda H and you know what, I was so impressed at how quickly they got through to me. We went to CM:London and arrived around ten - got a number for John Barrowman (600ish maybe) and come 16:45 - 15 minutes before the event closed we just managed to get in as they'd abandoned the numbers by then. So getting such a late number for Patrick and getting to see him by half 3 - well impressed!! I didn't expect to get such a high number that early on but was super impressed how quickly he got to us. Same for Linda, considering she was personalising and was happy to have a little natter I think she got through really well, and she was so happy to see everyone! Joint best with Barry Bostwick for me, omg who was AMAZING! He was happy to have a little chat and pose for photos and he was so lovely, got uber girly afterwards hehe. We also met Jeffrey Combs, who isn't scary at all in real life, good sense of humour too :) annnnnd Chris Barrie, who had a massive queue allllll day, think we prob waited the longest for him than any other! Oh and Joe Flanigan, he was lovely, love my photoshoot too!! Not even been home 24 hours and we're already planning LFCC

Yeah my Joe one got stuck to another, I assumed just maybe it got a couple of drops on rain splashed on, it was so wet yesterday but not massive harm done. Thankfully hasn't ruined my picture but glad it wasn't just me.

I understand it's a lot more money than just a quick trip for the day but if its just Twi peeps you're after then why not focus on ET, there's more than one a year and you're guaranteed to get the folks your after at them lol plus peter's doing the next one if memory serves and JCB did the last one so saves you and your girl the disappointment :)

Is this just trains or roads too?? We're driving down from Liverpool Friday morning and back Saturday evening - going to be a tight schedule so don't want to be delayed

Oh dear! Yeah I'd recommend speaking to TooTall, I had a couple of questions about waiting round for photoshoots, seeing as that tends to be the most waiting time I find, and he's been brill offering help. The Showmasters FAQ says someone else can get your VT for you if you're in sight and either clearly having trouble or flash your blue badge (or similar) if you're on your own I'd say speak to a pit boss and have something that says your disabled - just because if someone thinks they can abuse the system they will - obv you wont, but I can imagine they'd need to check. Thanks for the reply though, my mum is the same as you, she has a stick and just can't physically stand around as much as me and the bf do.
