Out of interest, does the 15 limit apply to dealers? I've been behind one once who was there for an age with like half a ream of photos. His lack of deodorant didn't help the wait, but I wouldn't really want to have to stand there that long again Do you know, thats one thing I have always wondered about at cons. Why do people go there smelling like they have just run the marathon? I mean, come on, get one less autograph and you have yourself some soap, shower gel, a flannel and deodorant. There should be some laws on queue etiquette. Maybe the guy who hands out the VT's should act like a human metal detector in an airport. If you smell like a gym sock, you wont be allowed to join the queue under some health and safety law. I LOVE that comment...and soooooo agree! There must be some law...ANH ? ( Actual nasal harm !!)

I think you hit the nail on the head there !! Reading most peoples comments it seems pretty much everyone thinks the guests announced so far are fantastic, which is fine, but personally there is no-one to interest me. That's not to say there won't be a last minute announcement that makes me jump up and down ....or promptly fall over !! Here's hoping

Believe it or not....I agree with this point. I don't think the autograph prices should really be an issue....it just depends on how much you want to meet the person. Obviously they can't be too high, but I went to Dukesfest in the US just to see John Schneider and that cost me best part of £1000 !! Now THAT was an expensive autograph !!!! I would be happy to pay £10 - £30 for someone I really want to see.

John Schneider would be a excellent guest. If it happens I will try and remember to turn around and wave at you from my place at the front of the queue Good luck with that then !!!!

With all due respect, if you read my earlier posts I have NEVER made accusations....I just asked originally about Tom as his 'people' didn't know about it. I thought this was rather odd but actually believed it when assured he was confirmed...even booking my photo session. It just seems a VERY big coincidence as he now won't be there. Also, having a spinal injury means I can only work part time so booking the cheap hotel is my only option. Okay so I was only coming for that one guest....is it my fault that there are no other guests I'd like to see? That's just how it goes. I'm not going to say I want to see others when I don't. I'm entitled to have my own tastes. I stand by my thoughts on this matter. However, I will say that I came to see Catherine Bach a few years ago and had a great time.....so it's nothing personal. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone but I'm sure some people will be able to see my side of things. No offence intended here. The wording of your posts do imply that you think the planned appearance was made up by Showmasters. You were right to believe honest DavidB's reply back in March. At that time Tom was confirmed as attending. DavidB could not have predicted then that Tom would cancel now. As for the 'Tom' people that you spoke to. It is quite possible that they were not aware of his planned attendance. There is even a page on his official website stating that if 'you' have booked Tom for an event and wish it displayed on their attendeance page then send all the details to them. Suggesting they are not fully aware of everything?...The left hand does not alway know what the right hand is up to. As an example. Have a look at Earls Courts website. Last time I checked they did not list the LFCC event that is taking place in July. People have even phoned up the venue and been told that they know nothing about it - even though it is booked and will happen I can only repeat what others have said. It really is a huge risk coming to these events purely to see one person. I would suggest that you do not dismiss coming yet. There may be more guest announced between now and the event that you may wish to see. Plus you may find some merchandise at the dealers stalls you like. As you said. These events are fun! If there is somebody else I'd like to see then I will come to the event. As I said ; when I saw Catherine Bach it was a great day and I wouldn't fault it. However, travelling is difficult and painful for me so it would have to be someone on a par with Tom to get me there. I know my lack of attendance will probably be welcomed now.....but get John Schneider there and I'll be coming anyway !!

ok Dukefan01 so you posts 6 and you think you know it all well let me explain it to you well what do we get from promoting a guest when he is not coming to the event ? NOTHING MATE so get reel and stop trying to make something out of nothing. we do not sell tickets for the event so nothing gained there , and as for photo tickets everyone on here will tell you Jola dose a great job with refunds and gets them out asap, so you will get your back. in fact we looses money on every ticket we refund as the credit card company takes there bit even if we refund or not and we also pay someone to process them as well so in the end there is no gain in any way to put up a guest thats not coming so just give it a rest and get reel things like this happen i hate people that come on here with the big conspiracy theory thing why not stick to alien abduction not guest cancellations jason Well Jason.....I stand by my thoughts of ' snotty replies'....you've confirmed that. I never said that Jola wouldn't do a good job so drop that line...I'm not the bad guy here. As for knowing it all...when it comes to Dukes matters... I can guarantee I know a hell of a lot more than you do... including the cast !! And I'm now over a £100 out of pocket as I booked the hotel and travel...neither of which are refundable as I booked good deals on the 'net. So, I think I have a right to be p*****d off !!!!

Well well well..... several weeks ago I asked if you could confirm Toms attendance as his own ' people' didn't seem to know about it. I got a very curt and , in my opinion, rather snotty reply assuring me that he would be there. Lo and behold....he won't be there !!!! Funny that. How soon will we be getting our photo shoot money back?

I just wanna make a point about all the winging on A-list guests. I think you'll find that Tom Wopat is very much an A-list guest as I went to Dukesfest to see him and there were over 120 thousand people there over 2 days to meet him and other cast members...if that's not A-list, I don't know what is ?????!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Showmasters, Can you please tell me if Tom Wopat is definitely confirmed for the Collectormania event in MK? The reason I ask is because I am wanting to be sure before I book a hotel / train etc. I checked with the lady who runs Toms website ,and she knows nothing about it. She has been in touch with Toms manager, but has yet to hear back. Please let me know asap as I need to book time off work and travel arrangements/ hotel. thanks for your help.
