  1. James Garner would be quality.
  2. Hell yeah!! Thank God for Autographica - the finest event in the UK!!!
  3. Superb. Now, please, please, please can he and Mr. Strickland be here on the Friday!
  4. I just hope that there will be some presence of these guys on the Friday as that is the only day I could possibly make for this event.
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_poitier Quite simply a legend. If they could get Tony Curtis and Ernest Borgnine, then why not Sidney Poitier?!!
  6. Some more of my wants: Joel Grey - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001297/ Eli Wallach - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908919/ Debbie Reynolds - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001666/
  7. It would be good if Dave or anyone else from the team could confirm the date. I think I'll do a Diamond Pass next time around so would be good to be able to book the Friday before the event off work in advance.
  8. I hate having to scroll to the bottom and sift through to find this forum. Can we have a new sub forum for September's event please? Just for guest suggestions and all that jazz?
  9. Poached is a bit strong - it would suggest he was announced for one event then grabbed by a rival And that never happens Rearrange the following..... made was tongue comment cheek in the Some people!! It's a **** internet message board - don't take everything so literally!
  10. Been reading on another forum some guy met three of these last week - one of them was very unfriendly , wouldn't sign anything - see if you can guess which one ? Depends which three s/he met. I think Peter Tork is unwell at present so I'm not sure it would be him. Mickey has been hosting a show on Radio - some kind of West Coast sounds programme. So I figure he must have been over here recently. He always seems pleasant enough. As does Mike.... so by that reckoning.... I'd hazard a guess at our very own Mr. Jones as being the unfriendly chap!
  11. Caroline is infectious! She is always smiling and she just radiates at every show she attends!! It seems to rub off on whoever she's sat with as well - Martine Beswick was beaming this weekend and I think that has a lot to do with her positioning. The best thing about Caroline is she actually always seems very interested in conversation - and not just taking your cash in return for a quick sig. On top of all that she is still very attractive and it's a natural beauty - nothing too cosmetic. A great guest who I wish could grace every show with her presence!!
  12. Leslie Nielsen has been poached!
  13. Can anyone clear one important question up for me please - is there going to be a CM Manchester in 2009? Thanks
  14. Autographica is a very separate kind of event - and needs to stay that way in terms of its name and the type of guest it attracts and the autograph collectors it caters for. Collectormania in essence caters for a broader spectrum - not just collectors of Autographs. I remember the very first few Collectormania's I went to as a collector of Star Wars Collectables and not with the intent of meeting any of the guests. I used to go to the Sci-Fi fairs at the Rivermead Leisure Centre in Reading which were early SM events along with the one at Cheshunt. It wasn't just about the autographs that got CM going - it was the whole thing! I wouldn't like to see them come under one banner, BUT I would like to see the two run together again - it worked really, really well and helped keep people busy for longer. As for moving Autographica permanently to the Hilton Metropole at the NEC - I think this would be a really welcome move. It's easily accessible and has a really good environment - the food hall place is handy, the rooms are good. Parking is good, etc. It's a great location for a great event.
  15. I thought she'd sign the cover, but not the pictures inside? That seems to be a consensus with actresses who've appeared in Playboy (not that I've ever asked for such a thing to be signed) "Hi Joan - can you please avoid the left nipple when signing this centrefold. Thanks"
  16. Rooney is a horrid little man. I made the comments before the event that I didn't think he'd be that busy - and not just because of his attitude, but because he's done spam all to get excited about. The really popular things over here that he's been involved in seem to be the very things he was turning his nose up at. What a disgusting attitude toward The Fox and The Hound - and its fabulous team behind it and their masterful conductor.
  17. A special thanks to Dave for everything you did to make this weekend happen. And also Idris - a huge thanks to you, Idris. Who is Paul?
  18. I doubt he's that realistic, but he wrote the screenplay for Raiders Of The Lost Ark as well, so he'd be very high up on my list. Why would he not be that realistic? If Dave can get mutli award winning actors and actresses and Moonwalkers over, then surely he can bring someone who's written a few Screenplay's?! ;-)
  19. Something else has just come to mind - with the news that Clash of the Titans is being remade for release in 2010, what about Harry Hamlin (Perseus) and Ray Harryhausen who has signed at events before? And for a link to the new version you could look at Mads Mikelsen who has signed at events before, and Lawrence Kasdan has written the Screenplay - he wrote the Screenplays for Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as well.
  20. Gene Wilder would also be good. Some lesser chaps as well - Peter Geddis Leslie Schofield George Roubicek
  21. Mickey Dolenz - never intended to be the best vocalist in the band...but was! Poor old Davey!! Would love to meet the Monkees. They often don't get the credit they deserve for the music they made. Mike Nesmith was a talented songwriter as well. I love "Papa Gene's Blues"! I'd love to meet these guys!
  22. Omar Shariff Also, Dick Jones - the voice of Pinnochio Karen Dotrice - Jane in Mary Poppins Victor Spinetti is another of my faves. Yes, Angela Lansbury would be good. As would Clease.
  23. Leslie Nielsen is a must. I was talking with George Kennedy about him - he says that despite being the funniest man he ever worked with that he is a very serious and well read individual. "He reads all of the philosophers" he said. I'd love to meet him! Ann-Margret is a great suggestion! What about Doris Day? And I'm sure he must have been suggested many times before, but Peter O'Toole
