Now that he's cancelled with that other scummy lot, can we make it a priority to secure him for Autographica 14? At least we'd then know that we can trust you guys to come good on your announcements and at least offer information in the clearest manner if unable to attend...

Looks like it was a mistake. I was sirprised after all that he was only £10 at first, thought that was a bit odd. They didn't change it until you went and opened your gob. EDIT: Although it rhymed we do not allow any form of personal attack on this forum.

I'd like to make one thing very, very clear, as this thread seems to be challenging the truth. But this is the truth - and it is based on fact. Daniels is a self important C**t. Let nobody tell you otherwise. The way he has treated the likes of Kenny, Dave and Peter over the years is nothing short of shocking.

I suppose the Centre:MK would have had a HELL of a lot of passing traffic - people in the shopping centre would stop and look and maybe act on impulse to jump in a queue for an autograph. If not, they'd almost certainly browse the stands and maybe buy a few things from the dealers. This is one of the things that worries me about moving the event from the Centre:MK - Collectormania when held there had something extra to any of the other events in the UK. It was held in an environment that was accessible to many, many more people than just the autograph/film/sci-fi merchandise collecting community. People now have to go out of their way to access the event - and the only people who are likely to do this are those who want to go there for a specific reason. I'll spread the word where I can, but I doubt that the current line-up will appeal to many of the people within the online groups to which I belong, or indeed my other social networks.

Keeping this section up if there is not going to be such an event?

I agree with your first two points, but feel that point 3 is harsh. The prices have remained the same since I started attending these events about 9 years ago (not just SM). A lot of other industries have seen price hikes on some products since then - this hobby costs the same to me now as it did nearly a decade again. I couldn't say the same for going to Football or indeed many other sports, concerts and indeed the cinema.

It's hard times for businesses as well though, so I'm not sure how you expect them to be able to reduce autograph prices? I know that's better for attendees, but consider how much SMs are having to pay out, and how much more it's costing them because of the bad economic situation. They've had events lose money in the past, and that was when things were better .. I'm not sure how you can realistically expect autograph reductions? They aim to keep them at a fair level as much as they can. I think the prices at SM events have always been fair and continue to be so.

I'm not even a Star Trek fan, but I'd pay to get Shatners Autograph - especially if Nimoy was there as well - I'd get both.

The guy is a dick. I mean, Cannonball Run?!! Smokey and the Bandit?!! Just rubbish, rubbish things with no point to them whatsoever. Rubbish I tell thee. Now, Reynolds has been once no need to have him over again. DELIVERANCE?? BOOGIE NIGHTS?? THE LONGEST YARD?? COP AND A HALF??, OK maybe not the last one - but hes done some ace films over the years and just because you dont like his movies, he's not a dick. He's a nice guy by all accounts. This is an excellent venue with its more centralised location. It does not favour those from the south east and gives greater accessability countrywide. Keep Birmingham !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally agree - and, with all due respect, I really hope that the organisers don't listen to Stuttgart Stu over there - get a connecting flight to Birmingham for crying out loud!!!

Well, seeing as McGillis and Kilmer are mentioned in the same post, I would hazard a guess that you are indeed correct that it is he who is being referred to. Timothy Spall would be good though!

Oh my God. I've just lost my s***! Please, please, please can we have Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson as well? That would be one of the greatest ever reunions pulled off in the history of SM events. This is shaping up very nicely!!

Would there be any chance of getting Christopher Lloyd over again? I missed him last year - and Lea Thompson for that matter. A proper BTTF reunion over here would be superb.

Is this CM free to attend at the MK Dons Stadium then? I though we had to buy tickets?
