  1. United are at home to Bolton on Sat, but I can't believe you can't find anything in the city centre
  2. Sorry for that but I got fed up reading this topic and went for the hands on approach, Sawyers is not near Gmex, wrong end of Deansgate. I now know where I am as I've been setting up tonight, I'm by the toilets and the talk area, stop by & say hello. There will be maps for the crawl and a quiz, with a prize.
  3. I did a pub crawl for people last year, I'll be doing the same this year. Leaving from outside G-mex at 6.30. I'll be taking in the following pubs. City Arms, Atlas, Knott Bar, Dukes 92, Barca, White Lion, Oxnoble, Cask, Mulligans, Times Square, A N Other, Brannigans, Bar 38. There are many different types of pub on the crawl, so if you find one that you like you can leave the crawl. If you want more info and approx timings, look for Steve (that's me) the dealer in the russian ice hockey shirt. Unfortunately I still don't know where my table will be in the hall. Best of all it is FREE, the crawl not the drinks. NB For some of the later pubs there will be a dress code, no jeans no trainers etc.
  4. What are your highlights of the convention Mine in no particular order The crew member not allowing Kenneth Cope in to the green room and saying to his face "I don't know who you are" The Sleepy Hollow couple who walked around on Sunday, absolutly brilliant. Did they win the Costume Contest, if not who did. All the people who purchased items from me All the people who at least looked at my stuff Danny John Jules Jimmy Saville impersanation, close your eyes and he is there, keep them open no chance. Danny John Jules being "forced" to talk to someones mum on a mobile while being filmed A friend asking Kenneth Cope's daughter when his birthday was, as he knew it was 1931 not 1934 as stated in the Carry On Matron DVD, sometimes fans just know better. The click click of James Callis's shoes on the floor, which announced his arrival 15 seconds before he showed up. The swish of heads, which annouced Katee Sackhoff's arrival, even before she did. The annoucement at 5.00 on Sunday that the dealers could now start taking stuff down even though we had been doing for the last 30 minutes and the laugh it caused. Any more???

    Thank You Crew!

From a dealer thanks to Kym for the outstanding work she did on Sunday, especially as her replacement wouldn't let Kenneth Cope in as he did not have his badge on him and said to his face I don't know who you are. Priceless It all ended happily as he said sorry for not having his badge.
  6. Well I started this thread so hopefully I'll finish it, a lot of dealers came with their normal stuff IE they did not gear it to this event, they just hope "punters" would buy, this is why a dealer with 4 tables took only £60 on Sunday. I sold quite a lot of card bundles that I had took the trouble to make up of the guests who actually attended. I'll be honest I didn't take as much money as I hoped, BUT I really did enjoy doing it, unfortunately I'm in Oz watching the cricket when the next one is one in Manchester otherwise I would do it again without thinking. Finally I would like to thank all the people who purchased items from me, I'd also like to thank Kym for keeping me entertained on a slow Sunday
  7. Thanks for the advice, I've just finished setting up, I'm based just to the left of the organisers booth, in my eye catching stall with cheap prices. I've got plenty of mainstream stuff but also some unique stuff, there can't be many, if any dealers there with Ice Hockey and Cricket stuff. Anyone who comes to my table with the secret password "Columbus Blue Jackets" will get 20% off all purchases, on top of any special offers that will be running throughout the day.
  8. I read on another thread that people were meeting up at 8pm on Friday on the steps outside GMex, I'll be there, I'm local and know the area very well.
  9. 19BlueBird82, the Britannia Hotel is an old style grand hotel, flowing staircases etc, the rooms are comfortable, with bars underneath, Bar Wave is my fav. To get to the GMex, come out of the hotel, turn left, go all the way down Portland St to the McDonalds, turn right, go along Oxford St, there is a Weatherspoons on the right. Keep going until you come to the Hairdressers on the corner, turn left, the Gmex is on your right just behind the hotel. Hope this helps
  10. Yes the dealer next to me is, he is at W17 I'm at W18. Throught the main door, turn right, go to the end turn left, walk down to where there is a break in the tables and we are there on the right Tony is the guys name, tell him Steven sent you. Don't forget to look at my table
  11. Over the years I've collected a lot of "cult" stuff mainly trading cards, but now has come the time to sell it, I've tried EBay, but got no fun from it, so I've got myself a table at G-Mex. My question is what do you look for in a dealer, is there an answer? Any help you can give me great Thanks
