  1. heh not at all, i think Bergen's a beautiful city. I'm a bit of a history and old building freak though. I live in Leeds in the UK right now, and though it is a large city, to an extent all my friend groups overlap and everyone knows everyone else (of us cool nerds that is). My friend is from a municipality just outside Bergen, her family have a farm and live in a place pretty much as you describe, it's very nice though. When I was younger I lived in a village a lot like that near York, but morderninity ruined everything.
  2. don't know enough to reply properly without a million mistakes so english it is. i just like norway and its culture, and the lot less people. i'm a history student at the moment so will probably try and get a job related to that or tour guiding in norway. have to see what happens. i've been to Bergen twice now (my friend lives out there so will most likely flat share with her when i move) and going again in september. also thanks, will ask if i need :)
  4. This has made my day. missed him in manc coz it was before i started watching atlantis. i might even get a photo shoot with him, been coming to events since 2006, never felt compelled to get a photoshoot before
  5. I like the Leeds idea. York is good but possibly awkward travelwise. Sheffield could be good too. and I miss Collectormania Manchester - I went to all 4. LFCC is my convention fix now but Manchester or an alternative back would be nice.
  6. here's a few of mine I just uploaded: album of whole weekend is here if anyone's nosy lol: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1276...mp;l=0015946186
  7. Hmmm, wasn't really paying attention, but the gang of assorted doctors that were sat near us on the floor (me being girl with walking stick and bright blue tights) opposite the doctor who daleks and props were fairly cute. Was also impressed someone was cosplaying as the 7th doctor as he's my fave
  8. a black furry bag with eyes on it and the word love with hearts on it is a mouth. we named it rex. some badges from the stall with the angry panda tees a faerie winged cat model a comic book by some random artist I chatted to called Ben Foot a book by Robert Rankin 2 cd's, one of a collection of mary whitehouse episodes, the other of scary stories. that was it besides autographs I think.
  9. looks like everyones commenting here so here's a far too in depth account of my visit on the Saturday: The Generally Good - - Robert Rankin, never read his books before but my friend's a fan so I had a look and bought a book. thought about getting a peice of the jewlery made from victorian watches but had to watch the budget. also had a conversation about cats with wings - was being teased by my mates for buying a faerie winged cat from another stall, and robert then told us to look it up on google as it can happen and his cat actually grew wing type growths. - Jewel Staite, she was absolutely lovely. that's pretty much it. - Hattie Hayridge, Dominic Keating, Chloe Annette, woman who played Master's wife in Doctor Who, didn't get any of their autographs but they were all great for a random chat and photo. - Room to sit down, Lack of space at other events i've been to has been a big problem, especially as I have CFS and often have to resort to using a walking stick (nicknamed the baby dalek for the first half of thecon as when it was in my friend's rucksack it looked like a dalek sucky thing) - The red headed staff woman who was working around Scott Bakula, Michael Shanks and Jewel Staite's queue areas. She was really lovely and made queuing not as difficult when possible. she also kept getting told off by other staff members for pronouncing Scott's last name wrong which amused me. The Generally Bad - - We were sent standard tickets when we'd paid for early. but that said we explained what happened and we just got in straight away with no fuss, so not that bad really. - Realised after 20 minutes of being there I'd forgotten the dvd covers I was getting signed for my friends (one wanted Michael Shanks, the other Tom Baker) so I had to travel all the way back to Hostel at Kings Cross to get them. was my own fault though and back by 11am. - Sound quality in talks. I'm a bit deaf so found it hard to hear in the Red Dwarf talk, was gonna go to the Doctor Who and Stargate ones but kinda changed my mind as a result. - People kept glaring at my mates coz I bruise *REALLY* easily and had some love bite bruises on my shoulder from play fighting in the park with my boyfriend a couple of days before, and they thought I'd been beaten lol (was *so* embarrised) If anyone remembers me I was the midget with the walking stick, electric blue tights, denim shorts, purply top and pink scarf - I was in a random mood to wear bright colours that day.
  10. Hm, I am going on the sat, but can't go the sunday, would really like Michael Keating's autograph though. Is there anyway I can sort out about ordering his, either in advance or on the Sat?
  11. hm, this is gonna be more expensive than I thought Scott Bakula Jewel Staite Tom Baker Keeley Hawes For me, then also buying Scott Bakula as a mate's present, and Jewel Staite/Michael Shanks for someone else. So that's £70 for me and £60 I'm buying for other people...Oh yay. Also want Michael Keating's SO much but hadn't planned on going on the sunday...
  12. yay for all you con virgins, i'm going with 3 other people, 2 are con virgins, and me and my other mate whose going have been to the same conventions actually, the four manchester collectormanias, though the first two were the only real good ones, and one of the Dimension Jump red dwarf conventions. Can't wait for LFACC. Hostel and train's booked, and in a day or so ordering tickets for convention and to see comedy store players at piccadilly on the sunday night
  13. Cool! I wish I'd being able to go on Sunday - me and my friend Sian are aspiring writers and Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden are comedy icons! - You might have heard them in I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, but if you haven't, you should listen on radio 4- Barry Cryer is in most of them too on Graeme's team, I met him a couple of years ago, very nice guy. The person on Tim's team changes - Used to be Willie Rushton (another legend) but he died in 1997, and now there's a mixture of fantastic comediens including Andy Hamilton, Paul Merton, Ross Noble, and wonderful (but VERY tone deaf) Jeremy Hardy, oh and the Chairman is Humphrey Littleton. Ok, that's my comedien rant done for tonight - now time for bed, and glad you had a great time crewing
  14. Hodges I think nearly did become a main character but was beaten for the credits slot by Sofia I personally love the lab techs Hodges, Bobby and Archie (and Henry - bless him) so it's so cute to see more of them. And the detectives Vega and Vartann - but the labrats rule all! Oh and after 7x08 Mandy deffo deserves an honorable mention for getting Nick to sing
