  1. Great improvement this morning. I turned up at 8:45 and walked straight in the gold entrance. Yay!
  2. The security folk did seem to know what they were doing this time, and there were also crew out there. Just need to know the main queue is the side of the building next to the station, and the Gold/Yalc queue is the other side (so walk past the front of the building)....
  3. I think it will be less of a problem tomorrow - it seemed most of the gold pass folk were there today so there should be less bands being given out. For all the complaining (and yes, I was one of them) once inside everything was great. The guests were happy, the prop shoots were great fun, there was much more space in the aisles between the trade stands, and even the gold pass room remained stocked with water and flumps the whole time :-) Roll on tomorrow :-)
  4. I don'tknow why they removed it. It was honest feedback live from the event. I guess because it shows nothing was learnt from the queuing mess last year. Until the gold bands are posted out so they don't have to do that on the way in, nothing will change.
  5. The guys doing queue management are telling people they can't buy on the door. You'll definitely need to do it online.
  6. Bearing in mind Sunday is sold out and therefore just as busy as Saturday, it's a shame there is still a Saturday restriction. Still - hopefully this will be rectified next year. Looks like poor Gemma is going to be multi-signing for all the GP folks all day - no one else will get to see her!!
  7. Yay!!! Great guest, although just after I'd sorted all my money and timings out!!
  8. She's definitely going to busy Sunday with all the Gold Pass guests using their £10 auto and photo vouchers on her too!! But yes, happy she has more work on but is still coming on one day!
  9. I park at Westfield shopping centre - it's £8.00 all day if you register for express parking or £9.50 if you just turn up. Quick overground train direct to Olympia. Sorted! Also, easy to get out of London straight onto the A40.....
  10. Gutted :-( Still, my list was too long and expensive and I was wondering who to cut, but with four of my guests cancelling it is looking more likely I can meet everyone!! Have to look for the positives!!
  11. Hooray - this is much better and what most of us have been asking for all along - thanks! I still think we should be able to use these vouchers on all three days to widen the options a bit - there is still only one £10 auto I want from the Fri/Sun, but would get a Saturday guest if allowed. Instead I will end up with two autos from the same person just to use them....
  12. Yes, at the moment there are only 2 £10 photoshoots - this is why it would be SOOOOOO much better if they just stuck in 4 x £10 gift cards in the Gold Pass pack that we could then use on what we want. Whilst I do want the Gemma Whelan shoot, I have no interest in the other person so it would feel weird getting their photo just to use the ticket. Plenty of £10 autos (although again, I don't want any of them except Gemma), but not photos.....
  13. Olympia is glass-roofed and gets very hot. I attended the London Book Fair in April, when it was quite warm and it was awful in there. Hopefully they will have arranged some sort of air-conditioning if they are using that main area!!
  14. I've been trying to get tickets for San Diego for four years now - I sit in that online queue every year for a good hour and they sell out before I even get a chance. The only good thing is people who came the previous year get priority booking - I hope LFCC will do this if they go down that route. That way regulars are rewarded with almost guaranteed entry and anything left goes out to the rest. I'm really looking forward to this event at the moment - there is a really good line-up of guests. I have my usual gold pass to make the day less stressful, and am not meeting any of the Diamond guests (except a photo shoot with Bill Paxton) although I really like that option if someone I really liked came along. I think this is a great event and is only going to get better year on year as the troubles are ironed out with experience. Keep up the good work SM!
  15. I wouldn't attend LFCC without a Gold Pass. It's such a stressful event that not having to run around getting VQs is a real bonus - I originally only had a Friday entry but bought my GP once some really good guests for me started getting announced. Once bought I contacted the SM store for a refund on my Friday ticket, which was done within 7 days - I wasn't going to hang around waiting for a reply first in case they sold out!!
  16. Great guest - now we just need to get one of the UK TV stations to show Agent Carter!!!
  17. Up until a couple of months ago, I only wanted to meet 2 guests.......now, I think I need to remortgage the house!!!!! Yay!!!!
  18. Oh my - I loved him as The Engineer in Miss Saigon. He is such a multi-talented actor - I can't wait to meet him but so many choices over what to get signed!!!
  19. Ugh, I am in Singapore right now - looks like I will be setting my alarm clock for 2am to see this announcement whilst keeping fingers crossed for some sort of Marvel god :-)
  20. So far - and will no doubt end up around £700: Gold Pass Photos Richard Dean Anderson Bill Paxton Autos (on the day): Richard Dean Anderson Carice van Houten David Bradley John Bell Natalia Tena Bill Paxton Kelly Hu Malcolm McDowell Jessica Henwick Gemma Whelan Iain Glen
  21. Good points: - the guests (super friendly ones I met were Samuel Anderson, Christine Adams, Nick Blood, Alexandra Downling, Charlotte Hope, Toby Sebastian, Art Parkinson (and his lovely mum!), Rupert Vansittart and Eugene Simon). They all posed for photos over the table, all were chatty and smily, and all seemed happy to be there. What a great bunch. - the staff - great bunch of Showmasters staff managing queues with a particular shout out to the guy looking after Photo Area A who really made it easy for everyone to know where they were standing and what was going on - the dealers - friendly as ever, good selection of stuff. Quite surprised to see Cats Protection there, but a nice idea, I certainly gave them a donation :-) - generally it seemed better attended than the last one, and this despite the lack of guests compared to other ones - early bird tickets - kept the place manageable to get around for a couple of hours, what a great idea Bad points: - concourse area being a crush in certain places, particularly going past guests with a queue or the cosplay area - as usual out on that concourse it was drafty in places because of the weather Overall I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, after guests cancelled that I wanted to see.....
  22. Yay, the Gold Passes appeared back in the shop so I have got mine before they sell out again!
  23. Tickets arrived this morning - guess the post office must have been storing them up because they were postmarked 26 May... Sorry for the moaning :-)
  24. Mine arrived today; Nick Blood - 39 Hoggard/Vaughan - 7 Robert Emms - 1 (gutted that still got sent out after he cancelled!!)
