  1. Hi, all Hope this is OK to post here - but I've found the forums very helpful in the past so thought I'd repay the favour. Since Collectormania London at Olympia I've been keeping an eye on the website of those who had produced some special silk screen printed Collectormania posters and over the weekend they also had some of the excellent Alamo Drafthoue posters from Lost boys to Metropolis to Nightmare on Elm Street. The other day I came across these http://www.underthefloorboards.com/eternaltwilight.html Truly great quality images but unfortunately I'm just not a fan of Twilight If your interested in similar looking posters just search for Alamo drafthouse on the web. One of the great posters is this one http://www.fanpop.com/spots/the-lost-boys-...afthouse-poster Enjoy the Con Cheers
  2. Hardly ever post on the forums but this stall "under the floorboards" is well worth commenting on. They had a wide array of truly "gorgeous" (not a word I'd often use for posters) limited screen-prints on display. Spent time chatting there on both days and they were really welcoming and friendly. In conversation they said the collectormania limited screen-print was comissioned from an artist specially for the show. When they explained the process to create one of these, with different colour layers being applied individually, taking 2 days to produce its all the more impressive. There is so much detail in it even down to the license plate for the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 reading Collecto 1 (they had to point this out to me, lol) There was a possibility of doing another special print for the next Collectormania in Milton Keynes however with so many of this debut print remaining, unsure if that will now happen. Hope to see them at future shows. They said they have a fledgling website which they will continue to develop(although unsure if forum rules allow me to link to that?) Regards
  3. Many thanks for advice provided by fellow convention goers. Even better thanks to showmasters for listening to people and rearranging the schedule. My talk and photoshoot clash has been done away with now and so I'll be able to attend everything I'd like, as long as I pick up tickets, of course! Just an opinion but I'd imagine that a lot of people may want to attend both the Indy and Aliens talks (both being kind of reunions) and I'd be surprised if John Hurt photoshoot wasn't close to being sold out. I could always be wrong though Cheers
  4. This all sounds great.......however lots of clashes and overlaps. I feel for those that have clashes with photoshoots A and B and paid for talks Luckily I only have to work something out with the Indy Talk, Aliens Talk and John Hurt photoshoot all on the Saturday around lunchtime Could people confirm the length of talks and photoshoots, are they approximately the following Talks = 30 min Photoshoot = 1hr (or at least how long is allocated, bearing in mind its John Hurt) Do people think it'll be possible to do the following; go to the Indy talk, then John Hurt photoshoot and slip in the back of the Aliens talk (if the John Hurt photoshoot) runs smoothly Advice much appreciated Cheers
  5. Hello all, I'm a regular forum reader occassional poster. Hope this is OK to post Thought people might want to take part in a world record attempt being held in London this August Bank Holiday (27th August) The record is for the largest gathering of zombies in one place, currently it stands at 894. Interested and for further details, visit the following http://www.myspace.com/zombiewalkuk Hope a number of you can make it, you could give that zombie costume a test run before Collectormania Cheers
  6. Voted for Robert Englund. Seemed a great guest but just ran out of cash Also would have like to have met Tim O'connor and Felix Silla but again couldn't due to finances. They seemed fairly quiet most of the time. Hopefully Showmasters will be able to get them back for a future event.
  7. By the time Sunday came round, this had been sorted and he was with Karen Allen They seemed to be having a nice chat in the quiet moments
  8. Hi, being yet another newbie to this forum, and just got back from Collectormania, I thought I'd wade right in and ask everyone what they thought of the guests in general and the Collectormania 8 atmosphere Those guests I met and those I didn't all seemed to be having a good time themselves, which in turn gave the fans a good time. I just felt the general vibe at this one is that everyone came away happy (the shatner debate aside) the guests all seemed to enjoy it, making some cash and having fun is no bad thing !, and the fans, myself included, seem to have nothing but good things to say about the guests. I don't think I've read a bad word about anybody else other than Shatner (I could easily be wrong?) Was this great guests ? The fans now knowing what to expect and so almost everyone having their expectations exceeded ? I'm usually Mr cynical but C8 provided a great day out, congrats to the showmasters team ! (to my fellow cynics out there, before you ask I have no affiliation to Showmasters and have never crewed their events, its just my outside view looking in)
  9. What they said !!! No but seriously I felt this was one of the better cons with a broad spectrum of people there for all tastes. This is what a SHowmasters event should be all about.... variety. It was nice to see that Lord of the Rings or Star Wars didn't dominate (don't get me wrong I like these as much as the next person) but there's been real overkill lately. On this evidence, I look forward to C9 and LFACC4 Cheers Stew
  10. For me it would have to be Catherine Bach : sweet, charming and still looking good after all these years. I'm new to this forum and felt its about time I posted having been to 4 showmasters events now (2 london, 2 Milton Keynes ) and most of you seem like a great bunch of people. Look forward to many more years of Showmasters events. They got me hooked ! Cheers
