  1. Am I the only one not excited by this? It doesn't feel like Torchwood, it looks like a big American film. It seems more like a Torchwood spin off instead. I am going to give it a chance, but feel I won't be too into this series. Bring it back to Wales please! Amanda x
  2. I have some but my sis has them atm. I loved your Weevil costume. :) Amanda x
  3. I had a great time. It had a really relaxed feel to the weekend. It was still busy but everyone was more chilled. I would have liked the talks to be a bit longer but we got free guest encounters and autos so it didnt matter so much. I loved chatting to everyone although I'm really shy. And really enjoyed watching the con dancing, but not taking part! lol. Amanda x
  4. The episode with the Doctor was the only one I watched (through choice) and I wasn't that impressed anyway. Ha Ha! Glad it's not just me, phew!
  5. Thanks guys, for the free guest encounters! Can't believe there are only 160 of us. It'll be so quiet after 2 weeks of 700 attendees at the cons. I can't wait to see who gets announced for 7.4!
  6. I'll probably watch SJ on catch-up, don't shoot me but haven't been following faithfully, lol. Tom was only on a coupla minutes, bit random really. Max
  7. It's so weird, isn't it? That's exactily what I tried to do too, and It wouldn't let me. I have now received my invoice though - have you got yours yet Hayz? Maxine
  8. Hey guys, Just watching Alan Titchmarsh show and Tom Price was on a panel chating for a few minutes. Took me by surprise! Did anyone see it? Max
  9. I'm glad there's loads of us at the Sherarton then! Hugs, max
  10. Yipee, Invoice just arrived from Park Inn, so looking good to go!
  11. We're now staying at the Sheraton too, It looks really nice! Have jotted down everyone's directions so I don't get lost, he he! Maxine
  12. Thanks for your reply. Have just spent half hour going through old posts and apparently the Sheraton is much nearer? So I've booked there. Looks really nice too. Thanks again, Maxine
  13. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone is staying at the ibis? How far is it to the con, and is it easy o get to, thanks. Have been loking for a decent map, to no avail, but it seems to be on the same road! Max
  14. I think at previous conventions that has been fine - just show your reg letter to get into party?! Max
  15. Yeah, I meant Manchester, don't worry. I was only Standard this time but bought photoshoots with all of the guests anyway. This time I'll be able to get better seating and a group photo of all of the guests together. I'm really looking forward to it and it's a new place for me as I've never been to Northampton before like I had never been to Birmingham before The Hub 3. It's great to get to see new places through events isn't it? Not that we get much time to explore, nor would I want any free time, lol! Me ans sis never stayed over anywhere till the final night of a favourite show In London - Taboo, then we kinda got the bug, and have been all over the place for shows because of some of our fave people being in them. It's great to get out of Luton to be honest!
  16. You do mean its near Northampton don't you hun? Not Manchester? Or is it you that's from Manchester? Sorry If I read it wrong though! Max I did read it wrong, sorry!!
  17. Jason said on Saturday night to mention Massive events and the HUB4 con I think. There is no code as such, but I think it's best to mention the con to get afew quid off, although its non-refundable if you do. That's what I did, the girl on the phone seemed to know alll about it, and it was the right price ie. £65 per night inc. breakfast. Just waiting for an email/invoice now. Hope that helps, Max
  18. I do prefer some more than others but no way can afford many different ones, so totally happy the way it is.
  19. Yes, just gold and silver. I was at all the talks and still missed it being mentioned, lol. Sis thought it meant our photo shoots were at reg desk, but we got there in the end, ha ha. Didn't get one from HUB2 though, didn't realise there as one. Doh.
  20. I forgot that too! I need to get on that blinking brain training again!
  21. Hi Guys, I booked over the phone from HUB3 Sunday lunch, should I be expecting an email, as haven't had one yet? The very nice lady on phone said she'd post out the invoice, but who knows when that will arrive with the post being weird at the mo. I tried looking online, but it says it has no record of it, although I did chance it I guess by putting ref no in confirmation no box? Didn't want to wait incase all the rooms go in the mean time! Have emailed them. Thanks, Max
  22. Ha ha! You guys are great, I forget things so quick, you've brought it all back again, lol! I too loved Ben's sign language (not really a quote though) to the audience as everyone was still chatting and wondering what we were laughing at! That reminds me, I have a letter to write. Liz's blowing up the Hub comment was hilarious. I loved all Paul Copley's stories - so interesting, and too too funny. The midnight time machine could have been a great thing, but it's 2am GDL! (although we had a malfunction with our phone clocks ourselves, so can hardly comment!). My particular favourites were Gareth singing 'a la Barrowman' "I'm all outta love..." whilst doing very convincing JB actions too - that song is still in my head, arghhhh! and also Kai, although he's said it several times before it's his catchphrase I guess (apart from Rhys's "Aliens? In Cardiff?" It's "James Masters (Marsters of course) 53 years old ladies and gentlemen!" I love that, and all of us joining in! Max
  23. No, Thank You guys!! That's why we keep coming back for more cons.
  24. If you've been doing cons for that long then you should remember that for much of the morning there *isn't* a lot else to do at times. I've been going to them for 10 years, and it's only been my second like that. The others you miss part (sometimes all) of panels queuing for autographs of other panels, it's an accepted thing you can't do everything, and when Gold tickets exist that at least gives you queue priorities. The situation at the James Marsters event last year (and I mention it since the ME were happy to mention that and publicise at it the week before it took place) actually had the autograph queues at the back of the hall, you could still hear the panels whilst queuing. It's the way ME have chosen to run the events. I was part of that discussion and decision back nearly 2 years ago, when the first ME event was run. We chose to have the photos and autographs in the morning and the talks all in the afternoon. This way people get all of the running about done in the morning and then they can relax in the afternoon, knowing there is nothing they HAVE to go off and do. (We do have the GEs in the afternoon but that's the attendees choice to bid.) I have to say the majority of attendees I've spoken to about it, like it the way we have it. This system usually works pretty well as everyone has autographs included in their ticket package and so at least part of their morning is taken up by autographs (It's very unusual for someone to not want any of their autographs and therefore be completely free in the mornings). The talks usually start at about 2pm. At the Hub 3 due to us having the one day guests and having nearly 700 people to get through autograph queues, this meant the autographs going on further into the afternoon than we'd usually like and the knock on effect was the 3pm start for the talks on Saturday. Saying this I agree that we can look at their being more "other" things on during the morning and I shall discuss this with the office. I personally love the schedule the way it is. possible total madness in the morning, sometimes interspersed with little breaks, and hopefully enough time for lunch too Then a very interesting afternoon of talks, with the chance for a sit down - I think it works extremely well and I wouldn't want it any other way. I was at the James Marsters event last year (?) and hated the fact that I missed quite a bit of the panels due to being in a queue - the whole of the writer's one in fact which I was reallly looking forward to. Luckily got to see/hear Kai and Eve's one though, phew! I think SM/ME plan things brilliantly. Max
