Advice for trying to meet James Marsters?
mpharris replied to Princess83's topic in Collectormania MK
JCB was never James's manager, merely his agent for conventions/signing appearances. She was still in that role at C7 but it was very soon afterwards that he announced she would no longer be in that position. On the Sunday he stopped signing relatively early as he had his talk, when he left the board said he was signing up to VQ ticket 900 (I had a number in the mid 900s). As has been said many times already, on the Monday he ended up with an open queue. Whilst I have read many people say on here that to guarantee to meet him you need to get there at silly o'clock can I just add that on the Monday of C7 I joined the queue an hour before the doors opened and I was only number 150 and had a signature within an hour of the start so there probably is no reason to panic about getting there at 1 in the morning or any such time. However, if you do get there an hour early and end up not meeting him then why on earth did you listen to me. -
What are you getting James Marsters to Sign ?
mpharris replied to Krypto's topic in Collectormania MK
I'm not sure yet, I'd quite like a picture of him and Tony Head that I can get them both to sign but I haven't been able to find any decent quality ones. -

The Richard Madeley attack was before Shaky's career really took off (1980) so can't be used as a reason for his becoming a comedy act for his career since the 80's. It was Shaky's decision to stop recording because he kept being forced to record albums and songs he didn't want to. He has toured consistently for the last decade or so and has had a bit of a revival due to the combination of a successful Greatest Hits album and winning the TV show Hit Me Baby One More Time, he has a new album out this year. What makes you say he has been almost parodying himself? As for the forgetting his words on live TV I don't remember the incident but he is only human after all, and I've seen many performers forgetting their words (Robbie Williams, Prince, The Divine Comedy) that's why so many acts use autocues on stage nowadays. Ouch! - didn't mean to hit a raw nerve or anything and it's not a personal attack on Shaky - like I said I was a fan once I even had some of his earlier rarer recordings in fact I'm abit like that when I like a band or artist then I have to get everything they've ever recorded. I'm not sure his winning hit me baby one more time has helped his career or not - wasn't his single and album both due out in October 06 at one point and currently has no release date. maybe I'm just bitter as I asked Jim to fix it for me to have tea with Shaky and he didn't do it!!! Hey, no problem. I've been a Shaky fan since I was 5 and have spent the last 26 years defending him from people who write him off, so I naturally leap to his defence when I see him belittled. I think Hit Me Baby did help, it boosted sales of his Greatest Hits album which reached no. 4.

Why would Shaky be "comedy"? He was the most successful British male artist of the 80s.
-
At C7 he was only there for a day (and was doing a talk) and everyone was rushed through with no photos. At C9 he was there two days and was happily posing for photos.

Good guest, I really enjoyed Swinging and thought he was good in Torchwood.

Are you sure it was Mr Sin ? I only ask as I went to his table early in the day very early in fact right after I got my VQ ticket for David and I didn't see them. And I'm sure the lady on the desk said ' They couldn't get any ' I'm fairly sure I saw them but you are making me doubt myself
-
Deep had pictures as Mr Sin when I saw him early in the day, so they had probably all sold out by the time you saw him.
