  1. Hi QS Thanks for mini FAQ. Does the same ticket swap apply to two paid for talks which have overlap i.e. GOT (superstage) and Ian MacD (main stage) on Sunday?
  2. I seem to have a clash/overlap with two paid talks on Sunday. I have tickets for both the Ian McD talk and the GOT talk but the end of Ian's seems to overlap the beginning of the GOT talk. Any advice on this? I wouldn't mind a clash causing me to miss some of a free talk but seems a bit unfair to have to choose when both are paid talks! Thanks.
  3. So happy about this announcement . Thank you. Looking forward to September :)
  4. There were a few things that need alot of improvement and alot of things which were done well First to the negatives: Queues: The Queue for talk tickets(also for photoshoots) on Friday night- I just wanted GoT talk tickets as I couldnt get them on the on-line shop. It took one and a hlaf hours to get to the top of that queue just to buy those tickets- surely that can be improved. The Saturday morning outside queue was a complete disaster as described in all the posts above. Wrong information given to me and others on 3 occasions by (non Showmasters) staff meant that we were in a huge queue on the wrong side of the building- when a guy arrived with a megaphone at the last minute telling everyone with prepaid tickets to move - it was chaotic. Then after re-queuing and following the snaking line around in an orderly way suddenly all the other queues turned around and charged the doors. It should be said however that Showmasters seemed to have responded very well to the complaints about this and the queues were so much better managed on Sunday but hopefully the experience will be remembered in order to prevent another Saturday like that at any other event. Talks: Even though I was disappointed that there was a charge for talks I was prepared to pay for people from my favourite shows & especially someone rare like Gillian. The sound at the talks was very poor but the GoT guest s were great so it was a pity that their first talk was cut down to almost 20 minutes due to delay with technical issues at the start. The most disappointing talk and total waste of money for me was Gillians talk. It was impossible to hear and the same questions were asked over and over as well as a can I have a hug persistent questioner. What a waste of time for both Gillian and those who had paid. Last year Christopher Lamberts paid talk was really great especially as there was a compere and as a result we got to hear lots of interesting stories from such a legendary guest while they was still time at the end for a few questions from the audience. This really should have been the format at the Gillian talk. Positives: Fabulous friendly guests: Karl Urban stands out in particular taking a minute to greet everyone by name and have a short chat with everyone. I had to go back a second time on Sunday because he was so nice. I should also single out his guest assistant on Sunday. She was so friendly, calm, organised and relaxed and helped everything run smoothly. All Game of Thrones guests were also amazingly friendly and lovely. Crew: As well as the lady with Karl on Sunday, there was a guy managing Photo Area B on Sunday who was an example of exactly how things should be done. As people approached he moved them (in a respectable) way to the correct place, called out clearly what was going on and by ticket numbers and kept the whole area organised. He was also genuinely concerned and was doing a great job. Other friendly crew people were Roxy in Holly's queue on Friday and Pooks with Mitch on Friday. The Iron Throne: Great idea- more of the same please! Upstairs gallery: This was a great area to chill out and rest while keeping and eye on all the activity below. Overall it was a good venue. Thats my thoughts for what they are worth!
  5. As the outside UK on line orders closed last week- will I only be able to get talk tickets at the event or can I order these on line and pick up at the event?
  6. Thanks for the update Dave- so far so good!
  7. As he will be in London at the time could we please get Scott Bakula for EMS? (I missed him last time )
  8. I have been going to LFCC since 2005 and this was one of the best yet in my opinion. Some things worked really well e.g. 1. Preview Night- excellent- a chance to get ahead on some autographs and more relaxed time to chat to guests and also get a feel for the venue before Saturday. It also meant getting a look at the dealers stalls cos that certainly wasn't possible on Saturday!! 2. Crew- amazing- this was my best experience ever with SM crew- It was a well oiled machine- everyone I encountered knew their stuff, were extremely helpful, friendly and calm even when there were minor issues and used their initiative to solve problems- very well done all around. 3. Virtual queuing for photoshoots- thank you for doing this- it was great to get an indication of when different numbers were being called rather than standing forever in a never ending queue for the big ones. Also it felt like a "reward" for buying tickets early on-line to get through first. 4. On-going Improvement day to day. On Saturday the talk queues were a bit of shambles and were getting in the way of the stalls and the throughfare around the toilets- by Sunday this was completely revamped and improved and ran far more smoothly. 5. Stunt show- amazing and added something extra and different to the show- more of this please! Things to be improved: 1. The background noise can be distracting during the talks but also having a loud band etc. on during a talk e.g. the BTTF talk on Sunday, almost ruined it. It was difficult for the actors to hear the questions or the audience to hear the answers which was a shame. 2. It was great to see huge crowds on Saturday for the success of the show but it made getting between Photoshoot A and Photoshoot B areas a complete nightmare - more space and clear "travel through" areas would help if possible in future. In summary - a fantastic weekend from which I take great memories, photos and autographs- well done Showmasters
  9. I voted for Ian Holm, Christopher Lee and Ewan McGregor but would pay those amounts to meet all the 6 guests listed..... The highest amount I ever paid for an in person autograph was Mark Hamill in the USA but it was definitely worth it! Im afraid to think how high I would go if Harrison Ford was ever to become a possible guest prospect!
  10. Thanks for that Count !I think that's very reasoned thinking ! I've just met Buzz, Alan Bean and Gene Cernan already but got individual pictures signed. I think I'll take my chances and get the book signed
  11. I am interested to clarify the situation with regard to signing a book and completion fees. It never occured to me that that would be seen as a completion of missions but I notice that phil252001UK mentions that he was charged when getting his book signed last year. I was actually going to purchase a book on the Apollo missions this weekend to take along to Autographica but if there is a conpletion charges issue I may have to rethink it! The completion fees only applies if that Astronaut is completing it (i.e. you already have 2 from Apollo 10 and Tom is the 3rd and is completeing it). So if the book is blank, there will be no issues of completion fees this weekend. "Maybe" in the future when you have more it may become an issue. I have a multi-signed moon scape (one of Al Wordens) signed by about 12 Astronauts and so far I've not had the issue of completing a mission. Maybe just my bad luck Hi TooTall Thanks for the reply. I was aware I wouldnt have any completion fee this time around but was (somewhat over optimistically perhaps!) thinking of the "future". For example on a chapter about a particular Apollo mission if I get one person to sign it and then I am lucky enough to meet the other surviving member(s) of the crew to sign the same chapter but perhaps not the same page or picture- does that mean as each chapter of the book (about each mission ) is "completed" there will be a fee - i.e potentially 8 fees? It is still very tempting to try to do this- it would be a fabulous thing to have even uncompleted without every possible signature. Im jealous of your 12 signatures!! Elaine PS thanks for schedule *Edited to fix the Quote bit for you

    Men Please!

I second the request for more men please!
  14. Thanks for your response Dave. I was hoping in vain that there might be some schedules available early but it is perfectly understandable that you might leave it closer to all guests being announced (and I have no problem with more guests!!!). I think I will take the safe option and stay for two days - really don't want to miss some of the lectures by picking the wrong day! I appreciate getting your quick answer because at least now having that knowledge I can make a decision. See you there Elaine
  15. Any idea when the schedule for photoshoots and lectures will be finalised please? I am going to try to fly over and back on one day and need to know which day has the events which suit me best so that I can book my flights. Of course if it emerges that because of the spread of photoshoots and lectures that I have to stay overnight I will do that ,but obviously the sooner I know the situation the less expensive it will be! Looks like a fabulous show this year. I look forward to your response
