  1. James was a sponsered guest, so I can't imagine anything changing other than a talk or two.

    Advice

I wasn't drinking at the last Hub, but at the first one, I learned (the hard way) not to drink too much the night before the early morning photo shoots. Seriously, you can actually watch me get paler and paler in my photos as my hangover gets worse. By the time I got my pic taken with John Barrowman, he's practically holding me up...
  3. are these tickets still available as a mate of mines now thinking of going? cheers They are! My email address is marvola45@gmail.com if you want to send me a message about them.
  4. I'm only staying the Saturday night, but I've a spare bed in the room if anyone needs it for that night.
  5. If anyone is interested in going to see La Cage that week, I've two tickets for the evening performance on the 22nd of October that I'm selling. They're in the ninth row in the stalls, so are really good seats. I've got a presentation in Uni the next day so can't make it down to London anymore. Edited - they're actually in the ninth row, not the tenth...
  6. Is anyone else still waiting on a Silver ticket? I'm only in Ireland, so it should have only taken an extra 2-3 days, at most.
  7. Adding my voice to the crowd... After the events of COE, I think it would be a real shame not to invite Gareth. Even people who are not specifically a fan of him or Ianto would surely like to hear his take on the events of S3. It won't be a case of repeating the same anecdotes from the first two conventions, and if he's moving on from the Torchwood world, it might not be so easy to book him for future events. For the first major UK convention post-COE, I think it would be a mistake not to have the actor of the character who has arguably sparked the most discussion and debate since COE has aired, with articles on BBC news about the campaign to bring him back. Plus, with John only there for one day, it'd be great to have a full time cast member there for the full weekend. The other guests lined up are great, but not one of them has appeared in more than a handful of episodes. Their Torchwood experience is limited.
  8. Have to join in the Burn love! I think it's so funny - all day Saturday we'd been warning each other to be on our best behaviour around Burn because he wasn't keen on conventions and he wasn't keen on doing fan events - Came downstairs on Sunday morning to find the nicest, happiest guy squeezing everyone and beaming from ear to ear. I have so much respect for him, and am absolutely delighted with the amount of attention we got from him in the autograph line as well. He answered a load of questions and was happy to chat to everyone for ages. I loved his Q&A with Gareth as well. The two of them bounced off each other so well, and that high five thing they kept doing was adorable.
  9. Even if John only does the Sunday, it should work out. Eve and Burn only did one day each last time and they still managed autographs, photographs, an Intimate Encounter each, a stage talk each and Eve was there for the last stage talk too. I know there'll be more people at this one and John will be more in demand, but if he signs autographs rather than doing an Intimate Encounter, he could still get through everything. It may be a bit rushed is the only thing.
  10. I'm going to be annoyingly pedantic here, but unless it's a special nickname for her, her name is Naoko.
  11. I think that good non-regulars make the convention as much as the main cast for me. Matt Rippy, for example, was one of the stars of the Hub 2 and he only appeared in one episode. I've met Gareth a few times now, so I wouldn't be overly disappointed if he wasn't there, in the sense that I wouldn't feel like I was missing out on meeting him. That said, it's going to be the first major TW convention after S3 has aired so I would be disappointed not to have a few main cast members there to talk about it. And with Eve and Kai both expecting babies at that time, by process of elimination, I'd like Gareth there. I understand that SM might not want to trot out the same guests over and over again, but as it is going to be post-S3, I think that makes this one a little different to the first two Hubs. But with that said, I don't really think it's our place to demand or harangue SM for information on their guest negotiations. I'm sure they're aware that Gareth would be a popular choice. They've done exceptional work with getting great guests for the first two Hub conventions so I'd like to believe we can trust them to get good guests for this one as well.
  12. Just to say that when Graham Norton took the role of Albin, there were certain dates that he couldn't do because of prior commitments - I think hosting the BAFTAs was one of those. I know that towards the end of April, just towards the end of his run, there was a few. It is entirely possible that when the official announcement is made about John, there'll also be a couple of dates where he won't be performing and they'll be made known in advance.
  13. Odd timing! I just booked tickets today to go see it next month. Which means I'll be seeing it three times this year if (when) I go see John!
