It may be ever changing but do we want to allow it to change into a language used by lazy kids who can't be bothered to spell properly (I don't just mean when texting)? The rules for spelling and grammar are there so that everybody can understand what's being said and not get confused (though as discussed in this topic there are some things people often get confused about). I think people have the wrong image of what I am saying. I studied to be a proof reader as I'm anally retentive about spelling etc but I was putting another point of view out there. My tutors at Uni gave the answer that language evolves and sometimes it can be seen as bad and sometimes it isn't. I just feel that it depends on the circumstances and context that it's used in as to how we evolve our language. Text speak is fine in a text (saves us all some money) but some people won't understand it on a forum like this. As long as the intended audience understands and doesn't find it offensive then I don't personally have a problem with how people want to use/corrupt the language. [

not everyone has a chance to win the meal. sob! i have 30 mins a day at work to use the net and i'm limited on what i can do. then i can visit my parents and use theirs but not for that long. sob! the whole comment about spilling your drink on yourself made me smile. at a con i went to 2 years ago a guy kept staring at me, told me how beautiful i looked and then poured his pint all over himself. was absolutely hilarious (i apologise for the humilitation if you're on this board).
