  1. I wondered what he meant when he said he'd see me in Glasgow.... now I know! Awesome guest!
  2. *points to forum name* Dirk's the reason I was going anyhoo. If only to get a pic of me in my BSG stuff with him. My brother is the Murdock fanatic. I always prefered Faceman. As for Murdock masks... I have a Range-Rider one. =D
  3. Any times yet for these? Not sure how early I should get there on the day. Can't wait!
  4. Unfortunately I was a little over-eager when I got my A-Team dvds. I have all the individual seasons, couldn't wait for the big boxed set! I have no patience. Last time I saw Dirk I got a BSG photo signed, so this time I'll be getting a Face one. Only I'll be in my warrior uniform XD Star Wars Guests would be cool though. To keep David Prowse company.
  5. As in the outer robe? (Cloak) It shouldn't really matter too much, as I said before I've seen them made out of fleece, as well as wool and cashmere. So long as its heavy enough to sit right. They aren't lightweight cloaks so they hang flat most of the time, unless you are walking quickly/running/jumping etc. If you mean the tunic, it really should be natural, as it hangs differently and isn't generally as hot as synthetics. You need to be able to breathe in the stuff. Also sometimes synthetics don't sew as easily, it may be factoring this in the guide you looked at. But if it seems to be going okay then it shouldn't really matter, so long as you are happy with it!
  6. I finally hope the meet David Prowse, so I'm happy... of course that's if I can be tempted away from the Corvette.
  7. Mate, I'll get you the autograph but you don't need to add all the extra cost. I'm already getting 2 I'm sure another won't hurt. I'll email you in a tick. Anything so you can relax and enjoy your day!
  8. MR should come in Blue and Red too. They do: Maul, Vader, Anakin, Kenobi, Luke and Yoda. They did do a Mace Windu, but that's pretty rare now. Ebay may be your best bet for the 'character' MR sabers. The kit is good though and you can choose blue, green or red for the blade. The blade is shorter than usual and the hilt a tiny bit bulkier. But they handle well if you want to learn tricks.
  9. Dirk usually has some Starbuck pictures too and I think both of them had a pretty good selection last time round.
  10. Just a thought, you might want to cover the buckles on the boots... (if those are buckles). Also I've seen fleece used for the cloak and it looks pretty good, may be cheaper? Though it is boiling. Remember that the trousers need to be tucked into the boots and they're usually slightly baggy, so leggins might not be the best idea. If you need any help/advice give me a yell. I have a pretty good cheat for the undershirt that will cut down on cost/layers (and heat exhaustion)
  11. Dirk's already going soooo Richard Hatch (again) or Mr T or David Duchovny
  12. No. Not at all. If the character is Original you can wear whatever colour boots you want. Well within reason I suppose, bright pink ones would look a little strange. The Jedi robes were meant to blend in on multiple planets, that's why they were mainly earth tones.
  13. Can I point you in the direction of Padawan's Guide My advice on generic Jedi is not to copy a well known Jedi's robes. Stay away from the Obi-Wan, Anakin, Qui-Gon and Luke format. Otherwise people will just mistake you for that character and are likely to criticise the costume more. Fabrics, can come from online stores as well and its cotton/linen type that you'd need. Natural fibers and dyes.
  14. Telescopic blade is the type used on most kiddie sabers, its usually plastic and starts at 40mil diameter getting smaller to the tip. They're hollow and usually the plastic bends and splits as its barely 2mil thick. Its not ideal to use one of these sabers, they're chunky and really don't look right if you're going for accuracy. Also the clips don't fit in the comtech belt clip. Most serious Jedi carry MR or Parks sabers. Are you being a certain character Jedi, or just a generic?
  15. I am hoping to get together a Colonial Warrior, possibly a Military type costume too.
