  1. It clashes with something else, and there's talk on classic system forums about meetups at the normal events. You've gotten people talking ..

The benefits of running many events around the country now, that it doesn't just have to be at a specific playexpo event does it ?

  2. Instead of saying limit autos per guest to 1, why not just limit time chatting with guests who have a queue, way too often you get people queue-ing and some fan chatting to a guest for a long time, whilst everybody else has to stand and wait, slowing the queue down which means less money made to organisers and more fans going away unhappy.

If there is to be a limit, I think 3 should be plenty, I get one personalised 8 x 10, poster for multi signings with character names, so you can tell whose signed it.

In this sort of situation, the crew member with the guest should be politely stepping in after a period of time saying there's other people waiting, though it is difficult especially if it is the guest whose making the conversation with you, and it's you whose conscious of the queue behind you....

  3. I've just not got the time to go through all the posts to see what's been covered or not,

    1. People speak of a bigger venue, so given that Earls court may be demolished ( though these things can drag out ) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-23175255 , Where else in London do people know of that could comfortably hold LFCC based on this year's size and number of attendees. I'd reckon Excel is out the question straight away..

    2. Water : Bring your own, simple as that, Showmasters are NOT there to provide or sell this to you, Can you imagine the cost and resource in doing this ? and where do you think that cost will be passed on to ?

    3. Health and Safety : This is as much the VENUE's responsibility as it as those hiring the venue, But I feel it takes both parties to be observant in this aspect and raise it accordingly.

    4. Venue food prices : The eateries in Earl's court will have a deal with Earl's court to provide this service, Nothing SM or anyone can do about this.

    5. THe new tickets being discussed, They're only being discussed/ mooted as far as I can see, It's not been said they're definetly doing it.

    6. Crew : They are volunteers just like you or I, I personally wouldn't have the patience to deal with some of the things I witnessed over the weekend, but if you feel so strongly , why don't those referring to the crew offer to crew?

    7. Smoking : A friend and I reported that there were those smoking other substances at the gate on Earl's court property on the West Brompton side, we mentioned this to a Security officer in the blue vest as we walked up, he merely shrugged his shoulders, so we reported this to the info desk who did say they'd pass this on, whether they did or not is another matter. But I would have thought it should be up to the venue staff to enforce this ?

I'll admit I didn't quite enjoy it as much as previous years, and was after a Stan Lee auto, but I went in prepared for the fact that there were several hundred ( thousand ? ) other attendees also after his auto, so knew there was a possibility of not getting one. But did get a photo with him.

  4. Either way, no company is going to upgrade their property if it's under threat such as earls Court appears to be. So I find myself wondering what other London venue could hold lfcc based on the size of this one, and cope with the number of attendees that was experienced. I'm ruling out the excel centre immediately..

Def bring back the retro gaming, I came home and set my snes back up!!

  5. If you're feeding stuff back to SM towers then...

The store currently has categories for CFCC in November, and Newcastle in 2015, yet Winter LFCC which is before these 2 events is currently not listed on the store, yet has a section on the forum ? Is this an oversight, or is there a reason WLFCC isn't yet on the store ?

  6. Regarding the stadium itself maybe http://www.mkdons.com/fans/disabled-supporters/ would answer some of your questions and tell you what the stadium itself offers by way of disabled facilities.

As for the event, any of the crew looking after the area of the guest you're going to see will help you if you make yourself known to them.

Otherwise I'd suggest going to the information desk when you arrive and they will probably put you in contact with the overall pit boss Too Tall ( you can't miss him !! ) who will liase with you.

    Hope this helps

  7. Simply put , it's a common occurence at ANY event that the cashpoints ALWAYS run out of money, and would hope that the Sheffield Venue management are informed of this, so that the cashpoints there are topped up on the Friday. Surely Showmasters can at least request this when liasing with a new venue ? But for all the new attendees at Newcastle, please understand that at any established event such as LFCC, MK , the cashpoints do get emptied.

I see people also commenting about food prices, again this is outwith SM's control, food / drink prices are down to the venue, and surely it's common knowledge that if attending an event of ANY sort , that you can expect to pay through the nose for food.

Maybe those with local knowledge could put together a list of places nearby where people can go for food ? As the issue with not getting back in to the event will settle down, all that happened here was it was underestimated how many attendees would turn up, and by the sounds of it, maybe not enough communication between SM and event security that's supplied by the venue ( and overzealous Security Officer ! )

  8. Got my last order today ( good as am travelling tomorrow early, so not in for the post ) I ordered 2x Tom Hopper and 2x Eoin Macken , but received 2xTom Hopper and 1x Eoin Macken.

All my other orders have been fine, just this one is wrong. Looks like I'll be joining the queues on Friday evening :crying:

  9. As i wrote in another post, I made an order on the 18th to be delivered to Italy (because I live there) and it hasn't arrived yet.

I'm very worried, also because I leave a couple of days before the event.

I had the 2 days ticket + the Peter Dinklage photoshoot (which is not even possible to pre-order anymore... :crying: ).

I'm coming to London only for the event so as you can imagine I'm kind of panicking!!!!! :uhoh:

What should I do if I don't receive it on time?

Should I be Concerned if my orders say "viewed" but I've no email to say any problems like card payment errors (It doesn't say paid)

guys don't be worried, if your tickets don't arrive, just print out your order Email. it will have your account number and order number on it and take this to the booth at the venue they will sort it out. As long as you have this there wont be a problem. I'm still waiting on 8 photo shoot tickets myself. If they don't come during the week, I'll be doing the same. The staff on the desk are really helpful. I'm sure one of the Mods on here will tell you the same...

Whilst I think it's all very well and good to merely say " print your order email and take it to the booth at the venue " all this really means is that there's going to be large queues of people requiring to sort out missing orders.

I've been doing SM events since C8 ( not as long as some people I know ) and have seen the events themselves grow in size and days. We've also seen the change regarding the photoshoots being printed there and then, the introduction of the auto vouchers online, the investment in updating the forum to cope with the number of users

However what appears to me that needs to be looked at , is the " behind the scenes infrastructure " regarding things like

    Processing payments manually

How many people have access to the system and can process the orders.

Then what appears to happen is someone realizes the volumes of what's still to be processed, and there's a last minute rush where people are prob working all hours to get orders fulfilled.

As there's more people attending the events, and more people buying online, surely this part of the organisation should be looked at / an investment made to improve things.

This is where i feel the system is creaking a little, and things are getting missed :-

There wasn't an option to buy a full weekend entry inc preview night this year, can this be picked up for future LFCC's ?

Another example of this to me would be LFCC 2014 has been announced for a while, yet the SM store doesn't list tickets for it yet. I know it's early, but I'd at least like the OPTION to purchase tickets made available. If the store can't handle having that added to it yet, can this be added to the store after WLFCC ,

This is NOT me having a pop at the Mods or indeed anyone within SM towers, am just trying to be constructive in pointing out what I consider to be things that I would hope are on a " to do " list of things to be invested in , to cope with the ever growing size of the events themselves.

  10. A friend and I have been looking on the store for tickets, there used to be a weekend pass option, that included entry to the Friday night preview.

Currently on the store, it appears as if you've now got to buy the Friday night entry seperate to the Sat / Sun early bird entry.

Can you please confirm this is the case, or add the weekend pass option to the store ?

    Thanks

  11. I know that you're just sounding off , but be aware the Radisson are VERY GOOD at double booking rooms. Some time ago, friends and I got booked in fine into a ground floor room, left the hotel and got a phone call while we were out saying the room was required for a disabled person. We were fine with this and said we'd be happy to move our stuff when we returned to the hotel.

Got back to the hotel to find that the hotel staff had packed everything up ( inc contents of the bin ) and moved all our stuff to a room on the 3rd floor.

After kicking off with the manager about touching stuff without our permission, we eventually got free bottle of wine, and full 3 course meal for those in the room.

I've also heard stories that they've double booked, and then when people have arrived, they've been filtered off to other hotels in the area, and taxi's have been grudgingly supplied as those booking rooms had not been told in advance there was a problem.

Did you take it up with the duty manager of the hotel ? , as the staff WILL tell you the duty manager is busy, but if you push, the manager is all of a sudden available.

  12. I wasn't at DSTL , but have been following the goings on.

One of the things I've noticed predominantly being posted by people new to the events ( Welcome by the way ) is comments about the pricing of food /drink inside the venue.

This is well outwith SM's control, as if you've been to venues for any other reason, you should well be aware that the markup on food / drink inside a venue is insane.

I've often considered the Excel Centre to be really bad with prices for soft drinks etc.

So by all means comment about the prices for food / drink, but please understand SM can do nothing about this area. It's the same at other such events I've been to.
