  3. Teabelly83, Indio, and Kiwi7 walk into a bar ..... but only after making 43 posts inquiring about the bar's location, how to get there, what the clientele are like, if anybody has a full price list, what crisps they do, and whether pork scratchings are available... ...then announcing they don't like any of the clientele, the prices, any crisps or pork scratchings, in fact they don't like bars full stop Y'all are cracking me up!! Kiwi... work on the following as a ROUGH guestimate: Buzz Aldrin £90 Gene Cernan £75 Alan Bean £45 Al Worden £45 Scott Carpenter £40 N.B. There may be extra fee's for inscriptions from the above. Most other guests are usually in the £15-£20 region so factor on the higher value per signature and you won't be too far out. Oh yeah.... and chill out dude!!
  4. Derek, Garry should phone you and ask who you want to sit next to. Paul Thanks Paul!
  5. When will we find out about which celebrity guests table we will be sitting at?
  6. As per the Astro Info Service website http://www.astroinfoservice.co.uk/html/autographica.html PLEASE NOTE: Al Bean and Gene Cernan will NOT be giving talks Both Days Al Worden - 11 am Buzz Aldrin - 12 pm Scott Carpenter - 1 pm Ed Mitchell - 2 pm Mike Bannister - 3 pm Jimmy James - 4 pm Hope this helps. - Derek
  7. --> QUOTE(Steve B @ Sep 18 2007, 06:38 PM) 1117736[/snapback] Just in case the astronauts decide to use the "no posed photos" rule and we have to rely on professionally taken photos, who will own the copyright. I like to take photos of my son with the astronauts and use them as screen savers etc. With a professionaly taken photo I assume the copyright remains with the photographer which would prevent me from scanning the photo to use electronically. Does anyone know about the copyright rules at this particular event ? Steve Do you really think the photographer is going to care if you scan YOUR photo?? I'd imagine that most people would assume (as I would) that THEIR photo is theirs to do with whatever they wish... whether that be scanning to use as a screensaver or scan to upload to your own personal webpage.
  8. Al Worden usually has some copies of "Hello Earth". Cernan's "Last Man on the Moon" was printed in 1999 and I think its unlikely HE will have any copies to sell. Ed Mitchell sells "The Way of the Explorer" via his website so he might have copies for sale but if you REALLY want a copy of the astronauts book to get signed then why not buy copies in advance.
  9. Thanks Richybee and Dufresne... that's good news. I have a few for both already In your "few already", you don't happen to have any pictures with a water theme do you mate? I've searched and can't find any printable ones so far.... Sorry dude but all the ones I have were taken in the studio. I've only two of Rhian (both topless) but have 13 of Katie (4 topless).
  10. Thanks Richybee and Dufresne... that's good news. I have a few for both already
  11. Any idea how much these lovelies will charge per signature and what selection of photo's they'll have for sale Dave? Cheers, Derek
  12. Ding-Dong..... and Hellllloooooooooooo.... wonder how many will get those on their signed photos?
  13. Dave, That pretty much confirmed what I'd guessed some weeks ago on the astronaut prices thread: Aldrin - £100 (+ £10 per word inscription and £15 per mission inscription?) Cernan - £75 base fee (£100 for lengthy inscriptions) Worden - £45 base plus £5 per word Bean - £45 base plus £5 per word Mitchell - £40 + extras And no... I don't know what next weekends lottery numbers will be - Derek
  14. I'm heading out so don't have time to make a call... but I think number 3 is Ewan MacGregor or Robert Carlyle. Guest 4... maybe another Glamour model? Michelle Marsh or Lucy Pinder perhaps? I'm probably wrong so just disregard my ramblings - Derek
  15. Hi Alex (and Count Fooku), I'll answer both of you here. First of all, those prices were just guestimates based on what was being charged at Spacefest and other events. As for Scott Carpenter, in Arizona he charged a flat fee of $50 which included an inscription/mission. I had him sign a photo of him aboard the recovery carrier whilst on the phone to JFK... with an inscription which is pretty cool. I'm hoping to make it down to Autographica... but in all honesty, I don't need to get much signed... but it's a a great opportunity to meet up with friends again so hopefully I can make it In Arizona Buzz was charging $20 per word for inscriptions but personalisations were free and he was $30 per date (July 20, 1969 for example) or mission (Apollo XI). For instance, if you wanted "To Tom, With warmest regards, Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI LMP" the price would have been $90 (3 words, 1 mission) on top of his base fee of $175. Regards, Derek I dare you to say that to Aldrin, Bean, Mitchell, Worden and Duke.... I DARE YOU.
  16. Going on the prices at the recent Spacefest show and also with what Al Worden charged at the last show I'd have to guestimate that the fee's will be: Aldrin - £100 (+ £10 per word inscription and £15 per mission inscription?) Cernan - £75 base fee (£100 for lengthy inscriptions) Worden - £45 base plus £5 per word Bean - £45 base plus £5 per word Mitchell - £40 + extras Anyone who thinks the fees will be lower I think is sadly mistaken. I also fail to see why any of these guys should sign for £20 at such an event when their signature commands much more than that commercially. Just my tuppence-worth. - Derek
  17. Now, considering his autograph USUALLY goes for in the region of $180 or £90 why on gods earth do you think he SHOULD lower his fee just because YOU think anything over £25 is a rip-off? Then the show would be swamped with "weekend warriors" looking to make a quick killing and selling on eBay for at least a 100% mark-up. Zip it... its clear you hack most of this forum off.
  18. That is YOUR opinion... but surely the queues for Lovell and Haise will show what everyone else thinks about the line-up . I think you'll find that Captain Eric Brown and Bruce McCandless will have busy lines also.
  19. I'm sure the astronaut guests will be happy to hear of your grading system . Seriously... James Lovell was the CMP on the FIRST voyage to the moon (Apollo 8)... if it weren't for him and his crewmates proving that navigation between two celestial bodies was possible I doubt if Aldrin would have got to walk on the moon. As far as I can see... Lovell is the BIGGEST guest Autographica have ever had... certainly he's never done a public signing event like this before... how many has Aldrin done? I dunno... but its at least 10-15 times more than Aldrin. This is also the first public signing by Fred Haise.... that's both the surviving crew members of the Apollo 13 crew in the one place... and both are signing. You might think Lovell charging £75 is high... but its on a par with what he charged for a mailed-in signing nearly 2 years ago... so as far as I'm concerned the price is fair. Can't please everyone though I guess.
  20. FANTASTIC.... wonderful guest!! Captain Brown is (in my opinion) a bigger aviation legend than Yeager... he has flown so many aircraft and programs that it defies belief. A friend of mine (test pilot) has often said that it is amazing that "Winkle" survived such a lengthy flight test career... he's an absolute marvel!! Will Showmasters/autographica have any interesting photos for Captain Brown to sign??
  21. Why do you think they will be more than Buzz Aldrin?? Hello to everyone Jim Lovell and Fred Haise have never done a public show signing and it has taken us 4 long years to get them, they are by far the most exclusive and elusive guests ever to appear at any show anywhere in the world. When Aldrin did our show last year he had done two in the states but none in Europe. Lovell and Haise have never done anything anywhere and as such they will be much sought after especially since this will verey likely be their one and only appearance. Having said all that we expect Lovell to be around £80-£90 with Fred Haise probably much cheaper. Over the next few weeks we will be negotiating with them to get the best possible price and as soon as we have confirmed we will let you all know. In the meantime crack open those piggybanks and start counting. Dave Phillips Thanks for the heads-up Dave, that is much appreciated. I now wish I was coming for the entire weekend and not just the Saturday!! Will there be a limit of items per person to get signed as I have some friends in the US that I'd like to help out by getting an item or two signed? - Derek
  22. Why do you think they will be more than Buzz Aldrin??
  23. For a lot of people its much easier to get to the venue at Heathrow. For starters, the hotel is nicer than the one used in Coventry... its perfect for guests (and visitors) arriving from abroad and for those from the north its easy to hop on a flight and make a day trip rather than come for the whole weekend. I thought this years show was pretty good, I enjoyed myself only thing lacking was a crowd... which made getting your items signed a doddle. - Derek
